I think the NFL is getting close to a tipping point. Between the streaming push, Thursday games, odd kickoff times, and the rising injury issues, the old magic is fading. What made the NFL great was being able to flip on Sunday night, watch two random teams, and still be entertained. That’s happening less. And honestly—who thinks a Saturday Wild Card game on Peacock is good long-term? I’ll normally watch every WC game, but not on a random Thursday or a streaming-only peacock service.

Keep in mind Brandon and Sean are peers. In Rounds 1 and 2, you have to assume Sean is going to tilt things toward his own preference, and that doesn’t help us land a fast high-end WR1 or WR2. It’s how you end up with three good TEs.

A loss to the Squeelers would really sting. Sure, we’ve had games like this before, but this one hits differently. It feels like the problems run deeper than the past years. like we’ve spent the past six years climbing the hill, and down the other side now.

The question is: if Sean were unemployed, would any NFL team hire him as a head coach or defensive coordinator? I’m inclined to say no. Coaches and GMs aren’t bound by the salary cap, so unlike players, teams can simply outbid or overpay for the right coach. It’s time to start recruiting.
