I can’t say Davis bc we won’t have time to throw his route tree which doesn’t look like it includes much under 12-15 yards and Knox will be used to help probably a lot.

No Dawkins is a huge deal.

If we hold up it will be Diggs.

    Milano on defense.

So glad we have him. He’s a big part of the heart and soul of our team.

  2. Pretty incredible considering the 20 years prior to the past three years.

During this stretch, he has 15 TDs to one INT. There’s been two no punt games. There’s been a perfect offensive game. And, they’ve won three in a row at Gillette Stadium.

Kyle Brandt said it best when he mentioned that BB has never had a great quarterback to go against in his division and now he does. Crazy that he really hasn’t had an answer for JA in the past three years. Even in the game that the Pats won, it wasn’t BB neutralizing JA it was the weather conditions. People just don’t typically do this to BB. I know a lot of this is Tom Brady related, but did Peyton Manning even have this good of a stretch against BB?

Enjoy this three minute video of JA shredding the Pats over the last few games. Go Bills!

  3. The first of three pivotal games that could end up deciding the AFCE. First up, the Pats.

JA and Diggs typically show up big in these types of games. So, I'm going with Mr. Patriots killer, Stefon Diggs.

I'll say 117 yards and a score or two. Diggs wills this team to victory by having another dominating performance against the Pats. He will not let the Bills start 0-3 in the division.

One division foe down, two to go. Who ya got?

  4. Bills at Pats - Let's go, Buffalo! Time to take the division back starting with taking down the P-Men!

Chiefs at Bengals - Go Bengals! Get the Chiefs their 3rd loss.

We all remember what happened last time we needed the Bengals help. I can't believe it's already been close to five years. The year we started our turnaround. The year before the draft of our franchise QB (just saw on a twitter feed from that day that someone suggested we sign Andy Dalton 🤣). It's the day that the world started to (re)notice the Bills Mafia. The day that the Bills made the playoffs after a 17 year drought and Bills Mafia found out that football miracles still happen.

Still one of the best moments of my fandom and I've been a fan since 1988. I'll just leave these here. Go Bills (and for this week, go Bengals)!

And, how long have we been playing 3 Thanksgiving Day football games?

Still impressive, but it seems like we have a lot of records that are meaningless. As the poster before me said, I'd rather have a healthy Tre White and Von Miller and a 2-1 Thanksgiving record than a 3-0 timeslot record.

While I wish that we had a healthy Tre and Von too, it’s more about the turf we played on than playing on Thanksgiving day.

  6. Against the Cowboys in 2019:

19-24 for 231 yards with a TD (we all remember his never quit fourth down conversion)

    Against the Saints in 2021:

23-28 for 260 yards with 4 TDs and 2 INTs (dominating win)

    Against the Lions in 2022:

24-42 for 253 yards with 2 TDs and 1 INT (comeback win)

3-0 record on Thanksgiving, and even more impressive, all three games were on the road.

    Go Bills!

This team has been through a LOT mentally, physically, unexpected travel, short week to prepare, etc...

2 wins in 5 days is all anyone should care about.

The fact they are overcoming all this adversity even when it doesn't look pretty and still winning is how championship teams are forged.

Yup, the 2-0 record is important. 6-3 to 8-3 just like that is great.

To your point, championship teams have “don’t care how it looks” wins at times. During the Patriots dynasty, there were games where the Bills would play the Patriots tough and could’ve won, but the Patriots found a way to win.

  8. One of my thoughts the past couple games has been, “I don’t care how it looks, just get the win”.

Some of my reasoning for that has been the injuries. Yes, part of it could be a mid season funk (every team faces stretches), but we’re just so decimated by injuries right now. When you have the injuries we have, style points really don’t mean much. It’s just doing what you can to get the W and the bills have done that the past two games.

With all the adversity they’ve faced the past week to come out of that 2-0 is a pretty good feat. Analysis is good, but when you’re so thin at so many key positions, you have to somewhat put down the analysis hat and be thankful for the win. Sometimes expectations are so high, it can be hard to see, but the 2-0 record is something to be proud of.

If someone doesn’t think that injuries don’t play a major part of how they look, when relatively healthy, we have shown that not many teams can beat us. When we were healthy, we were either blowing out teams, or beating the likes of the chiefs or ravens on the road.

Granted, everybody faces injuries at this time of the year, but we’ve had too many to just brush it off as next man up. At some point, the next man up just isn’t as good. Right when we were getting Jordan Phillips back, we lost Groot. Right when we were getting Milano back, we lost Tremaine. The game we get Tre back at some level, we lose Von and so on.

I’m proud of our guys and for taking our record from 6-3 to 8-3 in the last five days with the amount of injuries and other adversities (snow, travel, losing practices, losing a home game, etc.) we’ve faced during this time. As the CBS broadcast mentioned, they’re not robots. They’re humans too, and they can feel the adversity. That said, they pushed through it and won.

If we can just somehow find ways to win (no matter how it looks), while we’re still facing these plethora of injuries, we’ll have a great shot come playoff time if we can get relatively healthy again.

Onto New England. No matter how it looks, find a way to win, fellas. Lets stack some wins in the AFC East and take back what’s ours. Go Bills!

  9. The Lions have one of the worst defenses in the league and we have one of the best offenses in the league. This difference will determine the outcome of the game in our favor.

The offensive player that is going to make the biggest impact is James Cook. He had a solid game last week and was part of the two headed monster that helped us have around 170 yards rushing in the game.

With a weak Lions D, I see him having another solid game with 126 total yards making some noise in both the run and pass game. He’ll go for a score as well. Bills win the game and now all of us have another thing to be thankful for on Thanksgiving.

    Who ya got?

Have a happy Thanksgiving everyone. May you be filled with great memories surrounded by family and friends, and of course, winning Bills football. Go Bills!

    PS- @muppy, two things:

    1. Do you know if the local is open for the bills thanksgiving game tomorrow? We tried to call, but they weren’t open yet. Also, I can’t fully tell from online hours

I think these fans need to realize that during every season there are going to be ups and downs and not to overreact to them.

That's the issue I have...drastic overreactions. Allen is not going to suddenly turn back into the 2017 version of himself.

It's a long season, lots of things happen during it. Not all of it is going to the be Bills steamrolling teams. Not all of it is going to the Bills playing their best.

This is also the time many good teams struggle during the year...the middle part. It isn't as unusual as people want to make it out to be. Things are figured out, things are taken away, good teams figure it out like the Bills did last year.

They'll be fine. They aren't imploding. They aren't missing the playoffs. They will get better as the games matter more.

It's honestly amazing the amount of people calling for Dorsey's head as we lead the NFL in offense and are 2nd in scoring. Could you imagine what other teams fans must think if they read these boards?

    4 hours ago, BigDingus said:

Plenty of people are happy with the win. But people like to talk football. Pointing out the obvious & discussing it isn't PTSD or indicative of people being negative... so dramatic.

Discussion & speculation is what this board is for. It's not all "Rah! Rah! Bills best everrrr!" and talking about issues doesn't make you a bad fan.

I'll always think back to that thread before the GB game where some tweet was arrogantly asking why Bills fans aren't more confident (because they weren't out gloating/being cocky thinking we'd steamroll everyone)... Well look how the past month has been!

Mocking replies where people sarcastically say "remember the Jags"... as if that could never possibly happen again??

C'mon. Nobody said the sky is falling. Nobody is saying all hope is lost. Nobody isn't cheering for the team or burning their Josh Alllen jerseys.

But for some reason, express concern after a month of your QB struggling, the same one everyone was more than happy to proclaim was BETTER than Mahomes & MVP favorite, you're suddenly "negative," or have PTSD, or have posts psychoanalyzing how that may reflect on their family life? 😑

I hope people can just accept not all fans want to just coast by the entire season pretending everything's perfect. Sometimes we like to discuss what we see on the field & speculate on how it impacts our chances going forward.

/ this ends today's Ted Talk

@BigDingus, did you read my post or just the thread title?

I never said we should be arrogant or that we’d blow out every team.

Some of my main thoughts were that it's hard to understand why some will pick out one strength from the opposing team or one weakness from us and they’re worried about that instead of choosing to be confident in the nine strengths we do have going into a certain game against a middling team. We may even lose that type of game from time to time but it doesn't mean you can't have confidence.

Or, some want to fire coaches (McD has the best winning percentage in our history currently) even though most SB teams have a rough stretch during SB seasons. As Von said, the Rams lost three in a row in their SB season. How many Pats teams started .500 but went on to win the SB or go far in the playoffs?

Or, some want players dumped, traded or benched when even the greats go through rough patches every season. Just this year, PM threw a game sealing INT against us. People still know he’s great.

The overreaches (not saying you're overreaching) seem a bit much with how good of a team we have. This team is at a level where we can have a level of confidence when we play inferior or average opponents (even though we'll lose these games at times). And, we're definitely a good of enough team to where everything doesn't have to be questioned or burned down because we go through a rough stretch in a season.

That’s some of the points of the post and I think what @Big Turk is trying to convey as well. Big Turk, you can correct me if that’s not what you were trying to say.

Hope that makes sense, BD. Go Bills!

  11. I believe the Bills would have won at home but I do believe  being at a neutral site in a dome will be a big advantage for the Bills.

While I think the Browns will do well in the run game, I’m not concerned about it because I don’t believe they’ll be able to keep up with our offense.

The Browns only have three INTs on the year. This is going to be a get right game for JA and he’s going to rely on his best receiver to do it.

I’m going with Diggs. He’ll dominate like he has the whole year. He’ll get a few clutch catches, move the chains, be Josh’s go to and pull in a couple TDs.

It won’t be a blowout, but it’ll be a comfortable win.

    Still here, bro.

I’ve lived through the 90s SB disappointments, the Music City Miracle, the drought, the Hail Murray, the Jags game, 13 seconds and other brutal losses.

So yes, I understand the pain. It doesn’t mean you can’t have confidence in this team and worry about every opponent like every opponent is the ‘07 Pats.

As someone else has said, the combined record of the three teams we’ve lost to (by a total of eight points) is 23-7. And as someone else pointed out, every team that reached the championship games last year had a bad stretch of the season last year.

  15. Man, it’s been hard to pick these with all of our injuries this year.

That said, I’m going with Matt Milano. Look for him to be a key piece in containing Dalvin Cook as well as close off the middle of the field in the passing game.

Milano is one of our best defenders and I’m glad he’s back for this game especially with the uncertainty of JA at this point.

    Who ya got?

  16. There’s two things that stand out to me on why I’m looking at our defense.

First, in the last six games against the Jets they haven’t scored over 17 points per game. I realize that trends don’t always have to mean anything for the upcoming game but I see that trend continuing.

Also, Zach Wilson is completing only 19% of his passes (yeah, you read that right) when facing pressure. We are one of the leagues best when it comes to getting pressure.

If our d-line can get consistent pressure, I really think it’s game over, especially with how potent our offense typically is. I also think it will be important for a D line to have a game since Poyer is going to be out. They can help us on the back end by getting consistent pressure on the front end.

I’m going with Groot. Look for him to be a disruptive force that rattles Wilson with pressures and sacks throughout the game. Hopefully we can make that 19% average against pressure even lower.

    Who ya got? Go Bills!

  17. Our defense should do very well against A-Rod and his young, inexperienced WRs.

While I do see Josh and his WR’s having a good game it could be a little bit of a stiffer challenge with the Packers pass defense.

So, my mind turns to our run game versus the Packers #27 run defense. I’m going to go with Devin Singletary. With his limited touches throughout the season, he’s played pretty well. Against the Chiefs with more touches, he played really well.

I think we’ll see some quick scores but also some clock burning drives where we trust #26 to get it done in the run game as well as our short passing game. Look for DS to have 120 total yards with a score or two.

    Who ya got, Bills Mafia?

I don't mean fluff fans who refer to the team as "we" and bask in social media attention. I mean fans who can overlook failure and aren't apprehensive about renewed disappointment. I'd like to get to that place!

    Great question, Airseven.

My intent of the question wasn’t from a place of 100% confidence all the time or no nervousness at all. Even with this team, they’ve lost in heartbreaking fashion. The intent wasn’t overlooking anyone either.

That said, we’re at a level where fans don’t have to go in to every game (I get being nervous going into games against stiffer competition) as the “nervous” mafia. That was more my point as it seems like it still happens against middling teams. We’re even at a point where facing good competition should have us pretty confident as well.

As I mentioned in my original post, it seems like some fans when facing a middling team will point out one of the opposing teams strengths or one of our weaknesses and not focus on the nine strengths we have going into the game. I attached part of my post below that will hopefully clarify.

The intent was also about why some don’t give this team or the coaches the benefit of the doubt when we struggle for a quarter, a half, a game or even a stretch of the season. We’re way beyond that as a team. Many great teams still go through games and stretches where they struggle.

Bills2022 and jletha, thanks for your thoughts. I wasn’t saying that there will never be nerves. I acknowledged that there will be especially against stiffer competition. I still get nervous before games and in games as well. I attached part of my post below that will hopefully clarify.

“I think most fans get that we’re not gonna win every game and that the jags game or any given Sunday game could happen once or possibly twice a year. Why not go into some games (I say some games because I get being nervous going into a game like the Chiefs, Ravens or another good team but against teams like the Steelers, Jets or another middling team?) confident and then if there is an “any given Sunday” or “Jags game” outcome then just chalk it up as such. We’re at a level where we can enjoy this team without having to worry about every negative, weakness or game.”

  19. 1 hour ago, Ethan in Cleveland said:

I don't understand the OP point.  Are you saying the fan base should expect the team to go 17-0 and that any other thoughts on the season have no merit?  Only one team in NFL history went undefeated and only one other went undefeated in the regular season.  Having confidence and being realistic are two different things.  It is entirely reasonable to think we have a chance to win every game while also believing they will likely lose another game this season.  Believing those two things is not incongruent nor does it mean your are not a true fan.

I made a post saying Rodgers and the Pack might put up a better fight than we think, but I still think we ultimately win. I have total confidence in the Bills. I mean we are coming off a Bye, healthier w/ Tre White back, and the Rodgers’ most trusted receiver is injured Randall Cobb. Of course we will win, but it truly is any given Sunday. Go watch the Jags game from last year. Anything can happen. The freakin Colts beat the Chiefs. I think it is dumb to overlook anybody.

    Thanks for the thoughts fellas.

Ethan, hopefully this part of my post below will clear things up. I never said we’d go 17-0. I even mentioned that any given Sunday would most likely happen once or twice a year. That said, we’re at a level where fans don’t have to go in to every game (I get being nervous going into games against stiffer competition) as the “nervous” mafia. That was my point NOT an undefeated season.

CAndK, it’s not about overlooking people, again, it’s just not about being the “nervous” mafia going into every game. This team is way beyond that.
