  1. no you are absolutely correct, his sole reason for doing this was to bring attention to himself, like the ones he is doing this against....his ultimate point is what i applaud, sadly his self promotion diminishes the genuineness of his act
  2. not the ice bucket challenge, but yet another 'social giving' craze and the guy is being villified, i, however applaud him https://gma.yahoo.com/florida-man-deliberately-scuttles-pay-forward-starbucks-line-165749709--abc-news-topstories.html?vp=1
  3. nice find, Birddog....as much as I like OCMS, I have heard from a number of people that this tour has been a bit of a disappointment, they say OCMS has become too polished and lost a lot of the grittiness that endeared them to so many...hopefully they haven't fallen prey to the over production of the nashville country music scene....
  4. Kari Byron has caused much hair on my palms over the past 10 years
  5. side note, he has an MBA from Tampa University/University of Tampa....decided to have a plan b, just in case.
  6. he switched to a small laptop slide guitar for 2 songs toward the end, the rest was the gibson. such a surprisingly awesome show. i knew the 'don't call no ambulance' song, the rest simply blew us all away
  7. read that last night on twitter...what a surprise...big loss to the show, hopefully Jamie & Adam can keep the show interesting, which i am sure they can.
  8. for the record, i don't go to NE Philly very often, so don't go blaming me....unless the driver was naked...then it might be....
  9. WXPN - Philly, xpn.org, very similar to KRCW...singer songwriter centric, always on the cutting edge. Their national show World Cafe Live is one of the more respected radio programs around
  10. In case anyone pays attention to my useless posts, fridays sometimes include going to WXPN's Free At Noon Shows. Normally the shows which are broadcast to all NPR music affiliates from noon to 12:40 are really regimented so as to keep the on air feed on schedule...this guy is a relatively new blues guy with a solid debut album. He played for 90 minutes and no one was leaving to go back to work.... If you enjoy blues style music, check this guy out, he put on one hell of a smokin' show for our 'drunch'-time enjoyment, and if you are really lucky, one of the pictures might have me in it, i haven't looked but i was basically the same distance to the music as i am to the keyboard i am typing on....give him a listen, he is well worth it. http://thekey.xpn.org/2014/08/22/selwyn-birchwood-fan/
  11. ok, not to make their other protests seem like they have substance, but why buffalo??? what perversions???
  12. i don't access any work issues from my smart phone....granted I usually have my work laptop close by, but if i work in the evening, it is simply to internally justify leaving early one day or taking a long 'drunch' without too much guilt....
  13. my pub is about a 5 minute walk from my apartment, they come down and we have dinner, usually on fridays, plus keep in mind my 2 oldest are legal drinking age
  14. sometimes it's come home and hang with my kids, sometimes i head to my local watering hole and tell my kids to just give me an hour and they can swing by
  15. Dude...math is not your strong suit is it....Titanic was 1997, that's, like, almost 17 years, no where close to 100...sheesh
  16. of course his new show has a ton of production add-on, and probably not as remote as it may claim, but it's still fun to watch Ben Stiller & Tom Arnold rappel down a stone face or cross a log 50 feet up, even if there is a carriage road a stones throw away. As for leaving a fire burning or leaving a pack behind, they have production assistants to take care of the stuff that isn't 'camera/ratings friendly'
  17. i enjoy Naked & Afraid, the obvious reasons aside. I like it because the participants are all so frigging capable of surviving without any modern conveniences...i freak out if the cable blinks...I wish I had the survival skills those people have...don't even get me started on les stroud and bear grylls
  18. no, my intention wasn't to be noticed by the masses, if i posted that separately then I am no better than the others....
  19. I saw what you did Jack!
  20. it's "funny", granted it's only been about 2 hours, but the thread that nominated me has several likes and comments for my friend doing the challenge on video, but no likes or comments on my photo of my donation...
  21. Yeah, I really didn't feel like showing how much I donated, whether it was more or less, that's none of their business, I was debating including the screen shot of the Susan J. Komen donation i did right afterwards, similar to what you did, if anyone dares call me out on it they will get a rousing "f*** off!!!"
  22. i just responded to my ice bucket challenge with a screen shot of the donation thank you email from the ALS Association, doesn't show an amount, just date of transaction....
  23. i am waiting for the motorcycle crowd to start belly aching about how car motorists need to pay attention to the motorcyclists on the road.....
