Sal is ok, but he won’t ever say anything bad about a player. Last week he was talking about how shocking it was that we cut those two corners like they actually had a chance to make it. I think he thinks he’s part of the team since he can talk to the players regularly. He also loses all credibility the moment he starts talking about how he played high school football. When you do that, you just sound like a loser.

What an idiotic move. They should never play starters in the preseason. And before anyone talks about “rust,” they played starters in the preseason last year and we looked like garbage in the first game. Hopefully nobody gets hurt by this outdated move McDermott is making.

Almost none of those are actual battles. If you think they’re cutting Phillips for Brandin Bryant you’re nuts. Or Lawson for a 5 year practice squad player who has never gotten a sniff from anyone. Phillips didn’t even play in the first game, which is typically a sign that he’s getting kept. Maybe your last three could happen, but Keenum, Lawson, Phillips, Matakevich, and Jones will be on this team.
