  1. How's it going? Missed you at the Northstar last week. You down in Florida?
  2. I'll be in Cocoa Beac to the south of Jacksonville this Sunday. Will the Bills/Jax game be on TV? I know Miami and Tampa both play at 4:15 EST.
  3. I've been going to the North Star for Bills Games for 15 years. It might be one of the most famous ex-pat Bills bars in the country. There is no other bar to go to. I'm sure Ed will have the game on both TV's up front and plenty of Blue on ice. I've never heard anyone say they were disappointed with the North Star. Are you sure you are a Bills Fan?
  4. Jacksonville has a metro population of 1.3 million to Buffalo's 1.1 million. They don't have a city like Rochester or Toronto to count on as part of the fan base. I am still unclear how they got the team beyond the fact that Wayne Weaver was well liked by other owners and St. Louis didn't have it's act together at the time they gave out those two franchises.
  5. The Bills always have to show up on a list like that even though I am sure this asshat is well aware that the team is solid with Ralph still around. I'd say the Saints might be a good bet to move, especially if things turn out badly tomorrow. The Jaguars should move since they can't sell out even for Monday Night games. Including the Niners on this list cuts all credibility for this jerk.
  6. I don't put too much stock in the size of an actual city. Buffalo is a tiny city in terms of sq. miles with no options for expanding while other cities have grown and incorporated suburbs. Cities like Oklahoma City can say they are larger but it's not. Oklahoma City is 718 Sq. miles. Buffalo is 52 sq. miles of which 11 is Lake Erie. If Buffalo were 718 sq. miles, it would have a population of 900,000 and be one of the largest cities in the country. And he ignored regionalism.
  7. He can if he demonstrates loyalty by killing a family member.
  8. I think the team will do well in Oklahoma City. They are the only major league team there and this has to be the last large city in the US without a major league team. I think the Hornets did really well there when they played there because of Katrina. This showed OKC could support a team. That said, I don't like when teams move especially teams with history like the Sonics. Plus, Seattle is just too big and wealthy not to have a team. My guess is that Seattle gets an expansion team in the future. It'll be like a Browns scenario. I travel to Seattle for work all the time, and they were pretty apathetic about this situation. Seattle is a football town first (like Buffalo), so this was not the end of the world to the people there. If the Bills try to go, there will be a massive battle, not just resigned acceptance and indignation.
  9. I blame the silly drinking age. Thank you Elizabeth Dole. Someone needs to allow states to decide what the legal drinking age should be.
  10. It'll be the Jaguars that move if any team does. They never should have gotten a team there. The San Francisco Chronicle reported today that the Jags are starting to be shopped.
  11. Looks like there are women there in the last photo. I drink with my friends all the time with no ladies around and I'm not gay. Not sure about my friends though...
  12. Steelers, Braves and the Utah Jazz teams that are always consistently competitive. In the NHL, the Devils have been consistently good over the last decade.
  13. Somehow Wyoming supports the Pats.
  14. If the Bills won a Super Bowl, I would not survive through the night. I'd be smack dab right in the middle of where ever girls were going wild and the scene of mass destruction is. At least I'd probably go out on a high note. A very crazy drunken high note.
  15. This guy is worse. http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/blog/shutdown_...s?urn=nfl,76925 "Week 11, Monday Night: Cleveland Browns @ Buffalo Bills Suck Probability: 56% The Browns have five games on in primetime, and I'm not upset about that, but I don't see it as a lock that they're going to be as good as they were last year. Derek Anderson's play declined as the season went on, as if defenses had figured something out about him. I'm not predicting they'll be bad, but it's possible. And the Bills ... well, they're the Bills." Your column sucks...well, because its your column.
  16. For the past 10 years I've read hundreds of desperate posts here along the lines of "the Bills are moving to _______________! We are doomed to lose them!". Not one person has produced evidence of any plan to move them. How did the information from these meetings get to you? P.S. I also hear the Isotopes are moving to Albuquerque.
  17. I played lacrosse for Tundo in '88, '89 at OP. He was the best guy you could know. Our assistant was Tommy Gardner who was killed in a car crash not too many years after I left OP. It was a terrible tragedy. Dan Elvin was football coach at OP then. Tundo took over in the early 90's I believe.
  18. I'd like to hear more about the Playboy party outside of any players you saw. What models were there and what kind of stuff was going on?
  19. Thurman would have had 500 yards that day. I do blame Kelly there. He wanted to be the hero.
  20. I can't watch that game. I've never watched it since I actually watched it live that day. I've only seen Norwood miss the kick about 1 million times in replay. Can't stand to even think of it. Can't wait to see that play get shown 1 thousand times this week. I remember Andre dropping a third and short pass over the middle that would have gone big had he got it. That was after the Giants had to punt after the safety. That play was terrible. I can remember it so clearly. I hate the period in between the Conference Championships and the Super Bowl. Every year those horrible memories get dragged out. If Reed gets in, I will be fine with it. But if he caught that one ball, everything could be so different.
  21. I remember this game. I was in college and watched it in the dorm TV room. I was the only one there. Reed made a clutch catch at one point that kept a crucial drive going. I remembr that we got to Everett quite a bit. They were exposed as a bad team. We were not favored to win. That was a game that really convinced me that the Bills were going to be good. The next year on MNF vs. the Jets, we killed them in NY (I think). That was when the national media really knew that the Bills were a serious contender. I think Thurman had over 200 yards that day. Seems like it could be yesterday. Great times.
  22. I think the talks are back on. I think someone is jumping the gun in Santa Clara with that sign.
  23. Agreed. I would imagine the majority of people here could care less if the Olympics came here or not. It would mean lots of traffic and money on venues that will never be used by anyone again or a small minority. The best proposal I heard was to use Stanford as the venue and build a new stadium, but they just got a new one. San Francisco does not need the Olympics to announce it's arrival to the world.
