  1. Fair points. For sure it's way too early to crown Jones the next Brady. However, right now he is effective in the Pats system. Winning six games in a row is an impressive feat despite who they have played. There's lots of talk about Jones and the offense but it's their defense that's formidable. They present a huge problem for the Bills. Make no mistake about that Belicheat will have an awesome game plan to stop the Bills. Imho, Allen will have to be great for the Bills to win. An average Allen won't beat the Pats. How effective will Brown and Feliciano be coming back? Even healthy I'm not convinced the Bills Oline can establish a decent run game or protect Allen. Lastly, the pressure isn't on the Pats. All the pressure is on the Bills. They are at home and the resounding pre favorites to win the division and a great chance to play in the super bowl. The Pats are playing with house money. This game should tell us If he Bills are pretenders or contenders.
  2. True but that's what they said about Breeze. I believe the most important tool for a QB accuracy. Of course arm strength is very important as well. I guess the real questiob is his arm strong enough to be an NFL QB. Thus far the answer is a resounding yes. The game is Monday so im just focused on this game. He appears to be a QB who knows how to win, doesn't try to do too much, protects the ball, intelligent, accurate, good vision, and poised. Hope that changes on Monday. I'm not selling the kid short. I feel like I know what I'm gonna get come game day. Nothing flashy but effective and steady. With Allen it's more questionable. More like feast or famine. No doubt he has more talent but the other Bills issues severely hamper Allen's greatness. I just hope Josh has his cape on...
  3. Probably true long term but it's still unknown. I have to ask why is he being successful now. There is enough film to know what the Pats are doing. Yet, he is making the right reads, not turning over the ball, and has enough arm strength to keep the defenses somewhat honest. Couple that with a good Oline and running game. That's a decent recipe to win. Do the Bills have such a recipe? Or did they just order a master chef and a sous? You can't underestimate the importance of the front line staff. As is Cam Newton? I never really was a huge fan of his. He was always too wildly inconsistent throwing the ball. Also, I felt like he was a cry baby when he lost. He never felt like a leader to me. (Allen on the other is a bonifide leader of the Bills.) His ability to run was always his best asset. Imho, you pay QBs to primarily pass. The game has changed and the mobility of Qbs is definitely important as well.
  4. I hear you. Just wondering where the " he can't pass" proproganda comes from. I've seen 3 of their games and he looks really good. He's was a first round pick (15th pick) so you can reasonable conclude he can pass. Sure he has limitations but he looks to be an excellent QB in the Patriots offensive system. It's an early sample size. Very well said Mango.
  5. I like the positivity. However, I'm not so sure the weather will hurt him greatly. I think he hands off the ball often and he doesn't throw the ball past 20 yards. The Pats offense thrives on short quick passes. If anything the wind and weather hurts the Bills more.
  6. Your personal attacks are unwelcome. Frankly, your post is borderline incomprehensible. I do criticize the Bills organization, coaches, and players. I realize it's not popular here. Thus, the personal attacks like yours aren't uncommon. I stand by my criticisms and they do have merit and validity. Obviously, it's my opinion and I'm not always right. However, this is a place to voice opinions and hopefully get solid feedback without personal attacks. How can you talk about the media but disregard the media's feedback this year? Really? Lol Lastly, I do give credit and props to the Bills when it's deserved. For example, I've criticized and praised Allen many times. I'll be the bigger man and Bills fan and take the high road. Hopefully, I'm here to stay and give my feedback. Many on here have appropriately and professionally given me and others great feedback here. I look forward to reading and learning from such knowledgeable bills fans.
  7. Have to disagree with you. Not long ago, the media was giving the Bills mad hype. They were putting us in the top of their rankings and talking super bowl appearance. What changed? The Bills starting losing, playing average to poorly, and weaknesses started to be obvious. Following your logic, who have the Bills beat? You think that's impressive? Six game winning streaks are pretty had to come bybin the NFL. The Pats absolutely should be appalled for their success. There is little indication that the Bills will blow out the Pats. Sure it could happen and no one would be happier than me. Take off your homer hat and be a little more fair with your post. I didn't see it. Depends on the context. Allen has been pretty inconsistent this year. It can be argued that Jones is playing better than him. So in essence he is the best right now. I doubt she was saying overall Jones is better than Allen.
  8. Maybe I can help. Jones isn't tearing up the stat sheet. So many want to always emphasize the stats. In this case, his stats or lack of are deceiving. The young stud QB has lead his team to 6 consecutive wins. That is a feat in itself. He has done everything asked of him and more. He looks every part of a winner. He's poised, makes great reads, limits turnovers, and is pretty accurate. I think Kay's statement is accurate. Hope that helps.
  9. Allen does have a problem because his Oline can't open up holes for the running game and the suck a pass blocking. Wind or not it won't effect the weakness of the Bills Oline.
  10. How was their game plan vs Pitt on opening day? Jags? Colts? I think this season has been one of the weakest coaching performance from McDermott and company. That's coming from a big McDermott fan. There's been clear instances where he's been out coached and his team wasn't ready to play. His halftime adjustments which are usually solid have been suspect at best. So your sarcasm falls short here...
  11. Agree. The Bills have to establish some sort of running game. They can't abandom the run game and let the Pats T off on Allen. I believe Allen will get killed and largely be ineffective. It's what we've seen in the Jags, Pitt, and Colts game. Additionally, this is a difficult game plan defensively for the Bills. Jones is running the offense like an old pro. Almost Brady like. Finding the seams, limiting turnovers and mistakes, making the correct reads. The Pats run game is solid as well. In concluding, I think the winner wins by a field goal. I'm not going to predict a winner. The betting line started put at -3.5 and his now -2.5 buffalo.
  12. Great post! I'm not sure why people are so sensitive to the media giving the Patriots it's due respect. I get the Patriot hate and I'm included in the dislike for the whole organization. Yet, the Patriots deserve the hype. They are playing great on both sides of the ball. It's a masterpiece in progress by Belicheck. The Bills have been nothing but inconsistent. It's hard to have faith in which team shows up. I firmly believe a healthier good version of the Bills is better than the Patriots. However, which bills team shows up on Monday?
  13. They better have a solid offensive game plan. They have to do some things differently on offense. I'm thinking move Allen around in the pocket, a few more RPOs, some quick slants, screens to Brieda, and effective run plays. I think Allen will get killed and be ineffective if he just sits in the pocket and the bills run similar pass patterns. I think Belicheat will take Diggs out of the game.
  14. The Bills DL is a weakness this year. They have been unable to stop the run and apply consistent pressure on the QB. Add in the loss of Tre too. Looks like it's going to be a bend but don't break defense. Hold the opposition to 3s instead of tds. The well balanced and coached Patriot offense will be a monumental task this Monday.
  15. NFL analysts get paid to give their opinions. I don't think they represent their opinions as facts. I believe that's people's intepretation especially if they don't like or agree with the so called analyst.
  16. What do you expect from a New England based reporter? The Bills weaknesses are on both sides of the lines. They got manhandled on the lines vs Pitt, Tenn, Colts, and Jags. The "soft" label isn't a unfair statement. We will see if the Bills can she'd this label and beat the Pats.
  17. I'm thinking the same thing. Right now, the Patriot offense is playing very well. Their balance of run to pass is excellent and Jones is very efficient and accurate with his short throws. Their offense poses a difficult challenge for the Bills. As for the Bills offense, I believe they have to have a slightly different game plan. Keep the Pats off balance and limit their pass rush. If they fail to try to run or can't run the Pats will T off on Allen. Run some screens and quick slants, roll out Allen, use Brieda in the open field, and find Knox early and often. I think Diggs will be doubled and taken out of the game. Allen has to take care of the ball and not force things. Also, lets see how Allen starts off the game. A few games he's been really bad.
  18. I think the Pats Dline is much better than the Bills. How do the Bills contain him and slow him down?
  19. #10 is a very interesting write up. The Bills certainly have been not as consistent as many of us would like. They certainly have some major weaknesses in the trenches. This will most likely be their demise as they play better teams. This game really looks to be a toss up. It's really hard for me to know how the Bills stop the balanced Patriot offense and their relentless pass rush. I think Judon is going to harass Allen all game long. Hoping Jones gets rattled but he looks every bit like a vetern poised QB who stays within the Patriot game plan. Its hard to see Bellicheat getting out coached in this game. He will no doubt play cover 2 and pressure Allen. Thus far, the Bills haven't really figured out how to beat it vs quality teams. What changes now? It's gonna be a huge task and asking for Allen. Once again, he will have to be great for the Bills to win. I'm hopeful the Bills can pull out a win. It certainly will go a long way to silence the critics and pave a path to the playoffs. Another great write up. Thanks
  20. I don't think the Pats defensive game plan is too complicated. Just watch the film on the Tenn, Pitts, Colts, and Jags game. It's playing physical on both sides of the lines. Pressure Allen and play various zones. Pound the rock. The Bills really haven't had answers to combat this strategy. I'm assuming the Bills coaching staff is going to make several adjustments to enhamce their success. Maybe its more Brieda on offense. I'd like to see more of Allen rolling out and creating plays. Perhaps a few more RPOs too. Defensively, I think the Pats will move the ball consistently. They are very balanced and efficient. The key is to hold them to field goals instead tds.
  21. Is Judon going to be harassing Allen all game? Will Allen even have time to go through his progressions?
  22. Stats don't tell the whole picture no matter what side you are leaning towards. There are so many other factors in play as others mentioned. Wasted opportunity isn't the best of words. I think I was too strong on that comment. However, in real time I did want the Bills to go after him. As pointed out several factors may not have made it work. At the time, I was disappointed the Bills made no effort or seemingly so to sign him. Pitt was the superior team. No one expected the Jags to win.
  23. Agree. As a Bills fan its hard for me to be confident about this game. Im hopeful but not confident the Bills get the win. The Patriots are playing at another level on both sides of the ball. Have arguably the beat coach in NFL history, and the Bills have been very inconsistent with there play. Hard to know what Bills team shows up? I think we know what Patriot team shows up. If the Bills play well and execute they ahould win the game. Thats a big if though...
