Am I the only person who finds it odd he kept using the phrase “spanning time” with Christina Ricci’s character? I mean maybe it’s supposed to be that Gallo’s character isn’t good with words, but it’s odd how he keeps saying spanning time within one scene, where obviously the word to use should probably be “spending time.”

The Cincy game & its affect on how we view the team
Jim replied to Success's topic in The Stadium Wall
So idk if Minnesota fits in here, but Von had a huge sack on third down that for all intents and purposes should’ve put that game away. Unfortunately our recently re-signed superstar Cam Lewis thought an interception would be cooler than just knocking the ball away and winning the game. -

I think the incredible thing to me about last season was how these kinda ***** QBs would have the best game of their life against us. Wilson scored how many points on the Pats altogether in two games? Three? Ten? But he plays against Buffalo between those games if I remember correctly and he plays the best game of his NFL career. Now mind you, it wasn’t great, but it was efficient. How could this vaunted defense not stop this joker? Same thing with Skyler Thompson. He scored nine against the Jets the week before we got them, and he puts up over 20 against us. Not mentioning the drops by Waddle and Hill that surely coulda changed the complexion of the game as much as Josh’s turnovers and Shakir’s drop did. -
He did have Isaiah McKenzie wide open for a likely game winning TD against Miami that ultimately probably would’ve got us home field. But he bounced the pass to him. You see Mahomes ever do that in the big moments?
-
Funny enough, if he gets those two simple plays right we likely have home field advantage in the 2021-2022 season and the 2022-2023 season. Josh has undoubtably been clutch against KC, but those random games throughout the year, sometimes he just doesn’t have it. You don’t see stuff like that from Patrick Mahomes. If he needs a yard to win a game, he gets it.

Frazier: The hard FACTS on why many of us want a change.
Jim replied to Alphadawg7's topic in The Stadium Wall
There it is. We go into the Dolphins game with them skidding after SF and LA basically put the breaks on them. Do we use any of what those guys did? Nah. Then the Patriots and the Ravens give the Bengals fits. The Bengals don't have a great game against either. So when its time to play them in the biggest game of the season, do we decide to use anything they did. Now way, that's not happening! Leslie knows better than those other guys. -
After we get a Lombardi we will see how much complaining there is. More likely, it’s that we won’t accept just getting to the dance anymore. With Josh Allen, that’s not enough. Sorry guys.

If Frazier returns, how much will your enthusism die?

But we have the great Tremaine Edmunds, who surely deserves as much money as Roquan Smith! -

Yeah but that would implicate Loseley’s defense and GunnerBill doesn’t wanna do that. -

If it makes you feel better Buckets, I’m 37 and I doubt I’ll see the Bills hoist the Lombardi either. Sucks, but here we are. -

Okay then. You are the Pegulas, Beane and McD. How are you holding Loserly accountable? Challenging his play calling? Telling him he’s got a few weeks into next year? What are you doing? Cuz as you say, one doesn’t have to be fired to be held accountable? What changes things to benefit our team? -

So if we lose Loseley Frazier we won’t get into the post season anymore? Uh oh! Better keep him then. Stupid me, this whole time I thought it was Josh Allen and Stef Diggs. Now I find out it’s Loseley, Boogie, AJ and Ed. -

Okay, so you’re fine with good, but not great. I think most of the rest of us want more. But I guess it’s good for you that you’re happy with getting tossed out every year before the Super Bowl. I’d prefer we take some risks and try to get that Lombardi Trophy we all dream about. Maybe we shoulda been as risk averse in the draft where we grabbed Josh. Instead of trading up, we coulda stayed put at 22 or whatever and grabbed Mason Rudolph. -

And you are fine with how those bosses have handled it? By chance are you Steve Tasker or Chris Brown? -

Are you on drugs? I never said I want Frazier fired but I asked where the accountability is. He has ran back this same garbage scheme that gets lit up in the playoffs time after time and we are supposed to believe he’s being held accountable? Accountable would be seeing some kind of change in philosophy, in the teams aggressiveness, etc. Instead we’ve gotten served up plates of garbage the last 3 playoff exits, in addition to the Colts and Fins playoff games. I ask again, where is the accountability? -

This is fine, but if there is accountability, where is it? The ST got fired for 13 seconds. Frazier has, to be kind, not coached a good defense in the playoffs all things considered. Yet he trots out the same garbage against high powered offensives and we are supposed to believe he’s being held accountable? What proof do we have of that? Where is this accountability you speak of? If anything, they give the man more and more toys to experiment with to get his defense right and they arguably sucked worse than they ever had before in this latest postseason. While Josh Allen gets stuck with Rodger Saffold and Spencer Brown and Isaiah McKenzie. Gimme a *****in’ break here man. -

I’m confused as well. So it sounds as if he thinks that we should stick with Frazier cuz basically “it could get worse”? Um. He has a defense stacked with top draft picks and expensive contracts and when they get to the playoffs they might as well be the 2008 Lions or something. Getting lit up every time we play a tough offensive in the playoffs, only exception being the 2020 Ravens who kinda play right into his defensive scheme's strengths. So I guess our Stampeding friend is just fine with giving up around 30 points a game in the playoffs, whether it be to a washed Phil Rivers, Pat Mahomes, Joe Burrow or Skyler Thompson(!). We wouldn’t wanna make a change, or next time we might give up 49 points to the Chiefs in the playoffs, which would be “so much worse” than what Leslie has gifted us. -

So we should stick with the guy who has shown he hasn’t the slightest clue how to stop those teams when it really matters? We should be happy with maybe third best in the conference just cuz we were led by even more incompetent buffoons before McD and Frazier showed up? Just be happy we got there, even though we have a generational talent at QB? Ugh. -
He was in that first Jets game and got absolutely manhandled and embarrassed. There is a reason we didn’t see much of him again. He is greatly undersized and this was a huge reach that failed. I’ll be stunned if Terrell Bernard ever makes an impact play in the NFL. If I’m wrong I’d love to to be shown this one day. Seriously.

Once again what I’m seeing is a fan telling themselves stories to feel better. Yes the Bengals had won a bunch in a row, but they weren’t particularly playing great football coming into Buffalo. The defense gave up a lot of plays to a severely limited Tyler Huntley who did not have a very great time last season in his time covering for the missing Lamar Jackson. In fact, if not for a boneheaded Huntley play the Ravens probably win that game. And on offense, the Bengals kinda stunk too. They scored 17 on that side of the ball. They most surely did NOT come into Buffalo playing their best ball. They just played a team with who had neither the talent nor the coaching to take advantage of their weaknesses. And that’s what is scary about this defense. Why wasn’t McDermott asked why they didn’t they didn’t learn from other teams defensive successes? For instance, in the second regular season matchup against Miami, their offense came in sputtering after being exposed against SF and LA. So what does Buffalo do? Not learn a thing from either teams success against Miami, and Tua lights them up. Same thing with Cincy. Both New England in the regular season and Baltimore in the postseason had slowed the Cincinnati offensive attack. So how do the Bills use that to their advantage in this massive game? They don’t of course! Sean McDermott and Leslie Frazier know much better than Bill Belichick and Mike Macdonald. They do things their way! All the way to 27 points which coulda been probably over 40 if necessary and a near total inability to stop the Bengals offense. But yeah, I’m sure the “growth mindset” will show up next year. Right. Maybe we will only get half as defensively embarrassed next year and Josh will play near perfect football and save their behinds! Unlikely. -
When people write stuff like what I bolded above it makes me crazy. I have exactly zero memory of anybody ever saying that “year 3, that’s when Greg Rousseau comes alive!” It is just a bunch of hopeful nonsense. I don’t say this to be mean but it drives me nuts. Instead of drafting to help our QB, we likely wasted four picks on bad to JAGish defensive lineman. Lastly, this is an old boring take but I do remember watching some of Rousseau’s college “highlights” and it struck me how cheap so many of his sacks seemed (i.e. QB running into him, a long amateurish play resulting in a sack that you’d never see in the NFL, or him grabbing a sack as a result of another player making a big play to open up a sack for him). In retrospect, it kinda reminds me of when I first saw EJ’s college highlights.

We talking about the guy who was a distraction for basically the entire ‘21 season? That guy? For the record btw before anyone jumps on me I don’t care about how Covid opinions. But to say he’s a team guy after nearly going out of his way to be a distraction is just disingenuous to me.
