I think because we're used to watching guys like Epenesa, Rousseau, Basham, etc., we're not used to seeing DEs who are consistently impactful, and who step up in big moments.

Every front office whiffs on picks. In his 7 drafts and 8 off-seasons, aside from Allen, how much top-end talent has he acquired? You mentioned the Chiefs - look at their drafts and signings, and do the same exercise.

To answer the OP simply: NO. I trust him with Day 3 picks, but no way in hell should he be trusted in Day 1 & Day 2 picks. The infatuation some have with Beane is really puzzling to me.

Why would anyone reasonably expect Samuel to be healthy? Of his first 7 seasons in the NFL, he's played two full seasons. It's hard to win the SB without top-end players. We have one on our roster. That's 100% on Beane.

I think it would be interesting if people were to objectively review Beane's moves in free agency.

The DL once again failed to show up. Oliver and Jones especially. kincaid’s drop on the 1st possession was huge. His blocking was not good, to say the least. aside from ‘The Call’, I think Brady called a poor game, especially in short yardage situations. LBs, Lewis and the Safeties were really, really bad.
