  1. I wonder why they didn't isolate Davis Webb instead. I presume you could learn more at the actual practice and meeting room than as a part of a Zoom call.
  2. That is probably true though it also didn`t help that the gm who drafted him got fired before camp started. It looks like he made the Rams 53 this season.
  3. Not quite as bad as Jachai Polite who was drafted at the top of the 3rd round by the jets last year and released in training camp.
  4. Just curious, what is the point of releasing names one by one? I've never really understood that -- why do teams not just release all the names at the deadline?
  5. It does seem like a stretch to void a contract due to a one game suspension from two seasons ago. I guess the Jags feel their reputation among the players can't get any worse so why not give it a try.
  6. Jags voided the contract. Fournette has filed a grievance to get the money.
  7. Also if you had to have a mediocre QB as your starter, Tyrod was the perfect QB for the season the Bills broke the drought. The Bills won a lot of close games that season. If Fitz was QB, there would be too many late game turnovers for the Bills to make the playoff that year.
  8. In games decided by 7 or less Tyrod has a better record (9W 10L) as a Bill ithan Fitz (9W 12L). Obviously I understand this is not the best measure of how close the game but it is relatively easy to get. Fitz was more fun to watch because he was always throwing the 50/50 or 40/60 ball. I remember all these passes just going right thru mutliple defenders' hand in his magic half season, especially in the big win against the Pats. I think anybody outside of Bills fans and Buddy Nix could see it was not going to last but it sure was fun. Of course Fitz's sense of humor and underdog story (only in the NFL is being from Harvard a disadvantage) made him a hit with the fans. Tyrod was also fun to watch his first season. The problem was once the league figured out they didn't need to defend the middle of the field it was all over. As a fan, you spend most of the time watching him run around the back field with zero plan and the last two seasons were painful to watch.
  9. It appears Nate Peterman is still king of training camp: https://www.raidersbeat.com/raiders-have-a-quarterback-competition-just-not-the-one-everybody-expected/
  10. Everybody must have different rules. The Jets beat reporters tweets' from yesterday's scrimmage seem have been live and a lot more detailed.
  11. The Bears have already announced that they intend to keep two kickers. https://www.chicagobears.com/news/bears-intend-to-keep-two-kickers-this-season Of course, I don't think anyone has ever kept two punters.
  12. I don't think the Pegulas are the kind of owners who think they know more than anyone else. However, with the flat management structure they are forced to intervene pretty much any time there is a dispute between the coach and GM. Luckily for the Pegulas, Beane and McDermott are pretty much on the same page. I am sure there are disagreements but nothing that they can't settle among themselves. I think they are trying to reproduce the Bills' situation in the Sabres, essentially allowing Krueger a large say in who is the new GM just like McDermott did. I am sure they hope that the Sabres runs smoothly enough that they can take a step back and not be so involved.
  13. His defenses have been pretty good. Otherwise he would have to be assistant linebacker coach like Rob Ryan.
  14. I don't see Marvin Lewis in McDermott. The Bengals were always regarded as an undisciplined, out of control team who were always willing to take a flyer on players with known major character issues. This does not seem to be the team that McDermott/Beane is building (Antonio Brown not withstanding). Also a lot of the blame for the Bengals not making progress has to go to the front office and ownership who were never willing to spend the money they needed to take the next step. Even then everything may have been different if not for the crucial injury to Carson Palmer.
  15. Plus this is the first year in a while that the Pegulas are not paying multiple head coaches so they probably had a little extra in the coaching budget.
  16. To me the change on culture and attitude coming out of OBD is real. The players seem to want to be there. You don`t get the leaks and whispers and other nonsense that you got under Rex and Marrone and there seems to be a plan in place that is being followed. That is an underrated and difficult accomplishment. For that he earned the extension. Whether the Bills take the next step will depend on whether Allen is really the man. That is still a question to be answered.
  17. Defiitely playoffs. This isn`t the NBA or NHL where more than half the teams make the playoffs though I could imagine changing my mind if the Bills lost in the first round 5 years in a row.
  18. This is a fan message board. If we are not allowed to question any thing Beane does because the fans don`t have the complete story it woukd be a pretty boring place.
  19. There must be 10 guys out of the 80 that they already know will not make the team.
  20. Which made it even more surprising they didn't keep him for a few more days to get a draft choice for him.
  21. I assume they test for anti-bodies also and that they won't report individual results. It would be interesting if they release overall percentages but I haven't seen these numbers for NBA or the various European leagues.
  22. This is a sad reminder of what a waste Rex was. Everybody on the Dline was in the top 100 Maronne's last year and Rex`s genius took turned them into mediocre at best.
  23. Was that in a tweet? If that's the case, the Bills had better extend him before he hits the open market since I don`t think the Bills will be willing him pay him 15% moee then other teams.
