Yea not only was that not at all pi…it was a very heads up play by Levi to avoid pi knowing they are probably gonna call it on him for an awful throw like that. That was dangerously close to OPI if Levi turns around and tries to make a play on the ball but he rightly focused on avoiding the dpi They also cheekily eliminated bucs holding penalties along their offensive line with holds called in our secondary giving Brady another shot at the down on multiple occasions. Absolutely objectively an unforgivable game for the refs…if you’re gonna let them play let both teams play.

Yea at face value I’d agree but when you look at how that game was trending I’d say we had the edge in OT. The titans game felt different to me…titans were absolutely moving the ball at will to close out regulation so I don’t blame McDermott for either decision. And we all know they just would’ve held all our receivers on a 4th and 2 anyway lol
-
That makes a ton of sense if you assume the bills are in the playoffs…kc is definitely a team it would be nice to see knocked out in the first round. Still pretty salty they got the Aaron rodgers-less packers on their schedule. Whenever we get injury riddled/Covid effected teams it seems to always be a team we’d beat anyway lol
-
Right I’m with you on that one…if Indy wins we pretty much have to beat NE because the division title track becomes the only path we have legitimate control over. Right now if we go 3-1 with a loss to NE we would technically need some help to get in but it would take a lot going wrong to keep us out. A lot of these afc contenders have brutal schedules down the stretch it seems like kc plays all of them lol sucks we didn’t get that call Sunday night…a win there and were in a good spot wildcard wise and can absolutely root for a NE loss next week

Leslie Frazier's interview Monday 12/13

Idk they came up big enough to dominate that second half against the best offense in the league…it’s not like the bucs were trying to run out the clock on offense in the second half. we really did more than enough to win that game in regulation my opinion and it’s pretty criminal we took the loss. I do think part of it has to do with the dline rotation. Offensive players are gassing out and we’ve got relatively fresh guys coming in all game so the bills start to take some of the momentum back late. -

Some of it was just bad luck/freak plays too. Brady made two absolutely impossible plays in the first half that both led to tds…I remember one was on 3rd down but I’m not sure about the other. He’s not making that back foot lobbed rainbow throw with guys in his face to a receiver perfectly in stride twice in the same game haha Hold them to 6 there instead of 14 and it completely changes the complexion of a game and we’re back in the ‘yea they have plenty of yards but are they scoring tds’ realm. -
It’s certainly set up well for us to have a chance…pats are far from unbeatable and they are the best team in the conference right now. Titans and ravens have had a bunch of huge injuries. If we were in the nfc playoffs I wouldn’t be holding out hope but you never know with the afc this season. Could be anybodys game. It’s a bunch of good but not quite powerhouse teams

I’ve been chuckling about this all day…like man how much do refs hate Xavien Howard to actually call only him for two holds against us haha Oh they notice…it was a conscious decision not to throw the flag there…guaranteed they saw it correctly. They figure…if we make this call the story will be we chose the winner of the game so let’s let it either get to a 4th down play or go to OT where either team has a chance. And it is terribly terribly flawed logic. The Wallace play in OT has a separate set of rules applied because it is not a game winning play
-
Because our offensive has been bad and he’s new lol Heads up play by the defender…stayed with the receiver long enough so that josh moved on in his progressions to the correct read and then broke on it early…that’s a potentially big gain for the rb if the db stays with his man
-
Yea I have never once this season been like wow refs really cost us this one. Then this game happened and I remember the entire first half thinking ‘thank god this is a blowout or id be so pissed at the refs right now’ 🤣 then we started coming back and I was like ok now I’m retroactively mad at the refs. Then diggs gets mugged in the end zone and I’m like ok that’s kind of bs but they don’t normally call stuff like that late in games…I thought they owed us but whatever. Then Levi got called for dpi in OT and I absolutely lost it. He did such a nice job staying in position while avoiding contact on that play
-
They really shafted us with a spot late in that game but we ended up picking up the first on the next play so nobody is talking about it. I thought that fournette call of whether he picked up the first in OT was a bit of a tossup. But given all that was going on you’d think we’d be owed some tossups lol
-
I think we’re underselling the potential points one sided holding/pi calls can cost a team. Not only are you stopping bills drives by not calling obvious bucs holds like diggs’ jersey being nearly ripped in half in the first half…you are extending bucs drives with ticky tacky calls. Could easily be a multiple touchdown swing and idk anyone that’s beating a bucs team getting spotted 10-14 points…they were at home playing with one of the most talented rosters in the league. Realistically how good would the bills have to play to overcome that. They cost us a sure 6 points or more in the first half with I mean laughably obvious uncalled PIs/holds
-
I know I wish there was some forum flair for being someone that usually defends the refs 😂 I think they’re awful but they’re usually awful for both teams equally over the course of a game. This was objectively completely one sided Idk why it’s a conspiracy…anything that could possibly lean Tom Brady’s way they will make do so because he is a huge brand/revenue stream for the league. This has been the case for years…refs were very pro bucs all throughout last years playoffs too. It’s not just salty bills fans complaining the Brady pats/bucs get all the calls lol

Dane Jackson played pretty well

Yea cb2 is always gonna look worse than he is because he’s getting a majority of the action -
I’m surprised the pats fans have proclaimed themselves division champs already…not sure they understand how division tiebreakers work lol a loss in Indy and it could get super hairy for them…as far as winning the division goes that bucs loss while it stung pretty badly did not hurt our chances terribly…it was really always gonna come down to that second head to head matchup
-
Haha we meet again in another thread 🤣 I just don’t understand how the offense gets zero credit for scoring quickly on a defense that is specifically designed to prevent quick scores. They blitzed a good amount in the first half but they were also winning easily with 4 rushers too which we completely flipped the switch on in the second half. Also defensive adjustments held the Tampa bay buccaneers of all people to 3 points in the second half. If I was a betting man I’d say you’re wrong…we have been extremely competitive with all the best teams in the league (outside of the colts game of course which is looking more like an outlier) and just have not been able to make the one clutch play to win the game so far (outside of the bucs game which I will go to my grave saying we did more than enough to win and got screwed but I respect it if you don’t see it that way) we have also almost always come out of halftime looking like the hotter team this season as opposed to coming out flat last season so us performing much better in the second half against the bucs really wasn’t anything new. so I’m thinking our luck evens out…if Josh’s feet were a size smaller and his arms a cm longer we have two more wins against great teams right now lol we are losing by literal inches this season so far. I don’t think it matters a whole lot as the chargers are one of the teams I’d expect to be ahead of us no matter what barring an absolute meltdown. Probably chiefs though to encourage said meltdown lol
-
I got three teams from the east a few times I fiddled with the playoff machine lol that would be something
-
Or 2020 buccaneers haha were not getting that suspect call in the afc championship that the packers got screwed by in the nfc championship though 😂 so we’ll have to be a little better than the bucs last year lol Haha I could see this side of it too…but the afc being as wide open as it is I’d say it’s possible. If we were in the nfc playoffs heck no. Pats are the current 1 seed and I think we’ve got a 50/50 shot against them each time we play. We’ve got a more talented roster but they’ve got the coaching. We already beat the chiefs once and this is gonna be controversial but we did enough to beat the bucs Sunday in my opinion…lost a close one against the Derrick Henry led titans gotta think we win that one relatively easily if he doesn’t play. Lamar may be hurt and the ravens have looked as bad as us or worse at times…they’ve just gotten much luckier than us. So it’s certainly not impossible but it obviously hinges on us being more consistent
-
They have plenty offensively skill position wise…arguably as much as anybody. This offensive line is just blowing too many blocking assignments…you’ve gotta think they at least incrementally improve as time goes on. And that could make all the difference. We all saw what happened when TBs defensive line gassed out down the stretch tough decision but I respect it lol I certainly wouldn’t have the guts to go through with that
-
Yea I think there’s some nuance to it though…this team definitely has flashes of a great team at times and I really think they are going to put it all together…we certainly could tell ourselves we don’t deserve to be in the playoffs if we drop one of those games but I really think if we make it in the playoffs there’s a decent shot we get hot at the right time. Pats just barely squeaked by Houston also…lot of weird stuff happening this year with Covid/injuries/the cap reduction so I think you’re right to not read too much into one or two losses. Our offensive line was missing a ton of ‘talent’ in that jags game…maybe not the right choice of words lol
