AZ was a 1 possession game though.

    Huge difference.

My point was that we controlled the whole 60 minutes vs a very pesky team, capable of playing with basically anybody in this league.

    Exactly.  Same here!!

Were no Kansas city chiefs though so our team isn't good haha thats all this is.  If we were winning games like our game against the rams every week where we gave up a big lead then needed a miraculous game winning drive to win the game id be more inclined to agree with these people but alot of these games have been comfortable victories that made people nervous because of painful flashbacks of past bills teams blowing games 🤣 we wouldve had two wins like that if we had pulled out the cardinals game which seems pretty average and would not be enough to classify most of our wins as magical unsustainable wins lol the dolphins game we went down late in the 3rd quarter and immediately took the lead back if im remembering correctly. Not to mention that ridiculous rams comeback was aided by one of the worst calls in nfl history lol.  Were not any luckier than any other team...fumbled bounced our way in the pats game...we got a tricky tack pi call in the rams game...but also on the flipside we got beat by an absurd hail mary in the cardinals game.  The chargers hail mary was not even remotely close to the cardinals one...it didn't reach the end zone and they had to race down the field to either spike the ball or run a play.

I actually did. I tried to cheer the poor guy up.

It makes me wonder, do ppl not watch other games?

It is NOT easy to win in this league.

Unless you're playing the God awful Jets 😂

Jets took the patriots aka 'the team thats apparently going to go on a magical run and knock us out of the playoffs' down to the wire haha

KC is also Super Bowl champ and not still in prove yourself mode. They have the mindset of winning it all. In addition they beat won 5 games by 2 TD's or more. The Bills have won 0 by that margin.

Doesn't matter. It all just shows it was a close game. The fact a FG being made or missed shows that. The Bills hung on by a thread. The starting D was on the field until the final whistle. Would be nice to let some guys get some time off late in the game once in while...

Honestly what even is prove it mode...like do you think our team should be scoring meaningless touchdowns against someone like the Seahawks rather than running out the clock so fans feel better about the team lol chargers had to covert on 4th down like 6 times and recover back to back fumble  just to keep that game within striking distance...they hung on by a thread? The game was never even tied 🤣

Keep Bills fans away from bridges and sharp objects...

Bills go 1-4 down the stretch. Losses to SF, PIT, NE, MIA and beat DEN. End at 9-7.

NE goes 5-0 and beats LAC, LAR, MIA, BUF, and NYJ. They finish at 10-6.

MIA goes 3-2 beating CIN, LAV, BUF and losing to KC and NE. They finish at 10-6.

NE wins division with tie-breaker over MIA. Bills out of playoffs...

Had to edit to add the positive version:

Bills go 3-2 down the stretch. Losses to SF, PIT and beat DEN, NE, MIA. End at 11-5.

NE goes 1-4 and beats NYJ but losses to LAC, LAR, MIA, BUF, and NYJ. They finish at 6-10.

MIA goes 3-2 beating CIN, LAV, NE and losing to KC and BUF. They finish at 10-6.

Bills win division and NE gets a top 10 draft pick.

Pats going 3-0 in that rams-dolphins-bills stretch is extremely doubtful...its just as likely the jets get their one win of the season against the pats lol how does your positive version have us losing a game were favored to win and Miami beating the raiders haha

I wouldnt be surprised if the pats magical run at winning out ends against the chargers next week 🤣

Heh.  Interesting how several of these QB Heroes of Yesteryear like to opine that some of these young guns really aren't "all that": Young on Garappolo, Warner on Allen.

See above, I don't believe he did.

Yea it really doesn't sound like something any coach would say to begin with lol that post was more 'if he said that he's stupid' 🤣 im sure he's going to play the guy that gives them the best chance to win and a hobbled Jimmy G may not be the guy

    The nerve!! Oh my God!!

OK so who has so much of a better shot at making the SB from the NFC if not Tampa? Saints, yeah if Brees is healthy and even then Brees isn't the same guy as he was a couple years ago. Seattle, with that defense, maybe.  Green Bay, they've been as erratic as Tampa Bay and can say the same about LA too and probably even AZ.   What QB has the best track record of playing at a higher level in the playoffs?  I can't think of anyone other than ole Tommy boy!   They have a good shot at playing the NFC East division winner in the first round of playoffs.  Love him or hate him he is still the GOAT

It's kind of funny that you go out of your way to start a thread condemning Romo for giving what you feel is undeserving praise to Brady, and then you go out of your way to give undeserving blame to him.

I came here to say this and you already said it! 😄 nfc isn't anywhere near as strong as the afc this year...bucs could sneak into the Super Bowl and get thrashed by KC again thats really not the craziest prediction to make lol

I dont think Tampa was a good choice for Brady as far as him fitting into the offense goes...they are still probably his best chance to win a Super Bowl though.

he is one of the best offensive minds in the league he should be confident. 49ers have done really well with their injuries.

Not sure he can say we can win with anyone at qb when they can't really win consistently with mullens at qb 🤣 theyre a one dimensional team that i would expect the bills to be favored against.  Shanahan is in no position to hold out players that could help him win against us imo.

It’s easy to say “who cares, we won” but we lose these games against quality opponents

Good teams win when everything is going wrong thats why they are good teams 🤣 bad teams fold when things stop breaking their way.  We were that bad team for years and I dont think people know how to handle us not being that team anymore and are just waiting for that team to return lol

great teams also win the ugly games.

my near aneurism today was brought to you by: 20 years of losing this game.

This is exactly what I've been saying 🤣 these great teams we are saying we're not as good as win these ugly games all the time.  We're comparing ourselves to the chiefs and saying we are not playoff caliber but who is when thats the measuring stick lol

Singletary is decent but the problem is he’s not a starting caliber back. He would be great coming off the bench. The bigger issue is none of the Bills Rb’s are starting caliber backs. If the Bills had an elite OL things would be different but they do not have that. The run game will be inconsistent until they can get a very good/elite back in there or a more dominant OL.

You need a generational type talent at rb to overcome poor offensive line play

The Titans, Chiefs, and Steelers are all clearly better than the Bills.... and if the Bills played Baltimore in the playoffs I’d bet they’d lose.

They also don’t match up well with a team like Cleveland who can pound the ball and the Bills struggle to stop the run.

If they played right now you may be right but the season doesn't end right now lol if the bills defense keeps improving they will be scary in the playoffs.  Today's effort was encouraging the chargers have been rolling on offense

I think being a fan for over fifty years is frustrating. Some of these rookies on here kill me. They haven’t seen a lot of bills football. Most don’t even live here

Thats certainly understandable but how do previous bills teams have anything to do with what this current team can do going forward this season... I keep seeing 'same old bills' posts every time an opposing team scores in the game day threads but we end up holding leads and finishing games unlike those bills of the entire last decade 🤣 clearly things are changing.  Were assuming we are getting lucky and will start losing close games simply because bills teams of old did? It makes zero sense. This team is more likely to improve going forward than start losing close games ...the defense has been playing far below its potential.  Likely because we had quite a few new pieces that couldn't get acclimated as easily due to the covid debacle.

We did what we had to do and won against a team we should beat by multiple scores. This is when you can see the baseline of the team as a whole has been raised - we lose this game easily in the past.

Good sign and a good win but hope we tighten it up in the future. Consistency is the next step for the team as a whole to take.

Can someone explain to me why we should beat a team that historically never loses by multiple scores by multiple scores lol I keep seeing this in every thread and I just dont get it...we played the chargers tougher than anyone has all season.  It took two back to back fumbles to keep this from a blowout.  Is it simply because they're 3-7?

It’s become apparent that we don’t use the bye week effectively.  This is the third year in a row we’ve come out flat after a bye.  That’s 100% on coaching and locker room leadership.

Honestly how were we flat? Do fans have an amount of points in mind that we have to meet? Joey Bosa obliterated us.

This was the same game they’ve played under McD for a while now. Get out to a big lead and slowly squander it. Something weird with the mentality of the team... don’t really expect much in the playoffs, maybe they get their ***** together but they aren’t in the same league as the Chiefs.

I think this is unrealistic expectations on our part to be honest...quite a few of these games where we 'squander' leads we actually lead wire to wire and win lol no one is in the same league as the chiefs they are pretty close to '07 patriots good

    8 minutes ago, ScottLaw said:

Ok? Sorry. I have higher expectations... Just doesn’t look like a team that can compete for a championship but maybe they prove me wrong.

I respect that...I mean some people will view those back to back fumbles as poor execution that the team might continue and some will see it as a fluke.  Were trying to project future outcomes based on the game today and the huge question mark for us being competitive has been the defense and they did their job.

Appreciate the thoughts. There are two camps primarily on such wins.

Those that revel in a victory and rightfully so, and those who are somewhat pessimistic in a win because the expectation after 20+ years is to be a consistent and perennial playoff team for awhile.

Neither line of thinking is bad; however, I fall in the second camp as this is what I believe is Buffalo's next step toward competing for a championship in the near future.

    Appreciate the thoughts.

Bills have been weak defensively all season and they finally stepped up against a good offensive team.  They're not going to fumble on back to back drives every game.  They made mistakes and still won quite comfortably. That is exactly what good teams that are perennial playoff contenders do.
