But we lost to the Jets... The Zach Wilson Jets. Then we beat a bad Raiders team, then watched the offense kick FGs most of the last game until the end. For a while, we had only 3 points off 3 or 4 turnovers, and only 16 points to show for it.

So we can make ANY team sound not that impressive or downplay their efforts.

Can the Bills win? Obviously, yes. But we also should stop discrediting what other teams have accomplished, regardless of what point in the season it is.

We did that last year too, then went to Miami & lost. The Bills looked like world beaters through week 6 last year, then went through a long stretch of middling offense, playing sloppy, and division losses.

Hoping we don't downplay anyone this year. People got mocked for saying "remember the Jags game" last season, then those fears were proven warranted.

I'm not trying to suggest the Bills are bad or Miami is winning the SB, I just want us to treat every game with the respect they deserve.

I’d put a big asterisk on week 1 in general and a medium asterisk on road division games in general. We also did not spend a week preparing for the Zach Wilson jets like the other teams that played them have the luxury of doing. The pats had that opportunity and just snuck by them still.  Jets defense is a much worse matchup for buffalo than Miamis is also and it’s not even close.

we went down to Miami last year and absolutely dominated them in every metric but points while missing our entire defensive backfield and four offensive linemen by halftime….everyone and their mother knew that was a flukey loss.

I agree about giving teams the respect they deserve but Miami is being given far too much imo.  They’re good but they are not the 07 pats by any means.  Against pretty good afc opponents the dolphins haven’t looked much better than good.  One game against a horrible team that quit before halftime doesn’t change that.  look at someone like the chiefs that absolutely smacked around the 49ers last year.  The dolphins offense is a successful gimmick so it sees more diminishing returns against better opponents than other great offenses do and their defense is pretty mediocre

how were the people that said ‘remember the jags game’ proven correct last season?  We won 13 games and ran out of gas in the playoffs.  Are the pessimistic fans automatically correct on everything they’ve said if we don’t win a Super Bowl?

  2. I’m goin chiefs at 1 until proven otherwise Miami under the bills until proven otherwise(there’s a chance it’s this weekend).  They always slap around bad teams then win tight ones or lose against good/great teams.  I don’t think I’ve ever seen them look like a world beater against a good team

I disagree. In the night game, Josh Allen took over at the end. He’s better than Tua and simply refused to lose.

I don’t even know how to define tua anymore lol. If you take his quick rhythm throws away he’s definitely below average but that is seemingly near impossible to do so far.  Their gimmick definitely gets less effective in the red zone where tyreek can’t beat anybody deep anymore but teams still seem intent on leaving light boxes out there on that part of the field.  I’d probably do the McDermott special of keeping everything in front of me until hitting the red zone then I’d start to load up against the run. Teams are just giving them free points flooding the field with dbs…they are picking the wrong poison in ‘pick your poison’ imo

gotta make tua go through progressions and hold the ball in the red zone.  The dude has straight up tunnel vision when his first read isn’t open and he’s gotta reset in the pocket…he seems athletic but I don’t think he can keep his eyes downfield when he’s gotta avoid pass rushers.  Props to McDaniel for essentially gameplanning out tuas weaknesses

and, in the home Saturday Night game our offense was no slouch either, IIRC.

It was the Wild Card game a few weeks weeks later where the offense kept shooting itself in the foot, similar to the opener against the Jets

That was the strangest game…Miami just straight up sold out to force turnovers and guys were open deep all day…really it’s the opposite of what I’d do against josh lol. They were pretty fortunate to not give up a boatload of points in that one…we narrowly missed on a ton of deep shots.  The Beasley turnover was kind of ridiculous that was a pretty clear dpi…that game never should’ve been that close even with all the other turnovers.

if you told me they were gonna leave that many receivers open deep  again but we were guaranteed 2 turnovers I’d take that deal right now 😂 it was like a free deep td every possession we just kept dropping/missing the throws by inches

it seemed like Miami was gambling that their pass rush would get home before receivers would get free over the top and it didn’t work out that way at all but they almost failed successfully haha

Ok, maybe I read into “i’m not expecting any sacks” too much.

    I am.

He had a poor showing the previous season too.  But who’s punting?  😉

The playoff game? I honestly kind of hope the dolphins call a similar defense again.  We were a couple drops/throws that missed by inches away from dropping a ton of points even with all the turnovers.  Miami had everything go their way in that one and dodged a ton of bullets I don’t think that’s a viable strategy.  9 times out of 10 were dropping 50+ in a game like that

With the exception of last year, Josh always "gets up" for the phins game.

I expect no difference this time.

I don't know who is going to win but I can be sure of a few things:

    1. Fins ain't puttin up 70 again

    2. We're not losing by 50

    3. These QBs won't be sitting down with backups playing at the end of the game (unless Tua gets concussed)

If jaelan phillips can’t go I think we may be scoring 70…the phins just never seem to have the coverage LBers to slow josh down and they never really learn their lesson. They’ve got a good dline but I don’t think it’s any better than two dlines we’ve seen already

josh racked up 500+ yards of offense and almost beat them single handedly with virtually his entire team injured in the first matchup last year lol

Kind of surprised we are 3 point favorites.  I thought slight underdog or even.

I don’t think Vegas fully trusts Miami yet…they did the same thing last year against bottom feeders/banged up teams then fell on their face when they got a few playoff caliber teams in a row on the schedule. It’s a bit of a gimmick offense where tua just lets it fly to his first read as fast as he can and they start calling runs when teams load the field with dbs.  idk if it’s gonna be us necessarily but someone is gonna crack it.  Pats did a decent job and they probably would’ve won that game if they weren’t missing 4 offensive linemen.

to me, we are a beefed up version of the pats and the pats played them pretty tough.  The Denver game means absolutely nothing.  Denver was in the game late into the second quarter and the offense imploded after taking over with good field position down two scores so everyone visibly quit.  They were moving the ball on Miami pretty easily in the first half up until that point

crappy team flying east to play football in a disgusting humid swamp isnt even worth worrying about lol

18 plays that resulted in 2 yards or less. The entire first half felt like 2nd & 10.  That's gotta get cleaned up or teams like Mia., KC & Cincy will school us.

As long as Torrence protects Josh I'm happy. He can learn run blocking techniques down the road.

Bernard looks special and hopefully he can continue to make plays alongside Milano.

I want to see more Elam & Kincaid on Sunday and less Harty (other than returns).

The offensive gameplan seemed a little more conservative since we probably trusted our defense and the strength of Washington is the defensive line.  I doubt games against KC and cincy will be called that similarly to sunday, we’re likely gonna see a more aggressive offense on early downs in those games

70 points with 8 minutes left with the ball… insane for sure.

I just don’t consider Denver to be a true nfl team atm.  especially without their only stud defensive player (Simmons was out).  I don’t think a team has ever been ruined by a player like denver has been ruined by RW.  I think the locker room is toast and they all hate that schmuck.  Nothing will change until he’s gone.   Unless Payton wants to draft Caleb Williams next year, they should go to stidham asap.  Jmo

They also clearly quit just before halftime too…they were down 21-10 with 5 minutes to go in the half with the ball on the Miami 35 and went backwards 7 yards and punted and everyone just quit lol. It’s like things were finally looking up and they shot themselves in the foot and gave up.  Miami scored 14 points before halftime somehow in that situation 😂

Kind of amazed how much praise the fish are getting in this thread.  And also surprised how so many are writing off the Bengals after only 2 losses.

From a Bills fan perspective, I would rather play Miami than Cinci in the playoffs, assuming teams are healthy. The Cinci D has been able to control the Chiefs, Dolphins, and Bills.

Hard to say this early but they haven’t looked as good without Jesse bates to me

    I don't think it's a good thing.

The Bills have struggled to get another top flight offensive weapon on this team to pair with Diggs.

Really WRs 2-5 have been replaced by a faster and more powerful run game, with better offensive line play.

Idk gabes lookin pretty good through 3 games…he seems like a pretty viable 2 to me.  Run game is objectively improved too…people that want to see josh get an mvp may not like it but this offense is certainly better than last year

Simply, it was SUGAR HIGH JOSH in the Jets game. Monday Night Football, versus Aaron Rodgers, in NY with the Manningcast. Hopefully it's out of his system. Hope not to see it versus the Dolphins. Someone please cue up Frankie baby on his playlist

The fumble was a killer, honestly though 3 of his 4 picks this season have been essentially arm punts (one on second and long though of course)

In the past he seems to start doin really aggressive stuff when he loses faith in the offensive line and last season he had good reason to but this year is different.  He got real skittish in the jets game I think partly because he wasn’t used to playing with the revamped oline yet.  He was bailing pockets early all night. I don’t think we’ll see that again this year as he starts to build some trust with those guys

    Do what we normally do.

Yesterday is not the norm for Miami. That was MOSTLY on the fact that the Broncos simply stopped tackling.

350 yards ON THE GROUND?!? Disgusting and pathetic, Denver.

    Same Dolphins:

    Dolphins 36

    Chargers 34

    Dolphins 24

    Patriots 17

    Just do our thing.

This is the real story line from that game yesterday.

It's far more a failing of the Broncos than it is any type of dominance by Miami.

Any offense will put up 70 when the Defense stops trying to tackle.

Still think the pats win that game if they weren’t missing a lot of their offensive line.

They won’t beat anyone with getting turnovers.

Their QB is bad. Their o line is bad. Can’t throw it consistently, can’t run it consistently. It’s hard to win games like that. Their OCs plan this year was to let Rodgers do his thing. Can he pivot? History suggests he will struggle to do so.

If they lose to the Pats*, I don’t see a winnable game until the Giants in week 7

    Upcoming games

    NE*
    Chiefs

    @Broncos

    Eagles

    Giants

    Chargers

    At Raiders

    At Buffalo

    Miami

    Falcons

    Texans

    @Miami

    Commanders

    @Browns

That season could get out of control quickly. I’d be worried if I was Salah

He’s got an easy excuse for ownership and will be getting another early draft pick because of it.  Might be good we lost to them if it stops them from getting Caleb Williams lol

This is one of those quotes that probably sounded good in his head and was just horrible and nonsensical in real life lol he thinks the media was saying they were good just so that they could laugh when they lost to the cardinals? 😂

I just can't wrap my brain around how a team can allow so many points. Have some pride. Then that brings me to Miami. Are they really that good to impose their will like that. Idk I'm buying the hype atm. I'll be alright after I sleep on it.

70 is over the top but Denver def quit at halftime.  Miami was roasting bad teams early in the year last year too then they struggled against the playoff caliber teams.

You’ve gotta be able to stop the occasional run from a light box or Miami is tough to stop.  Their shtick gets a little less effective in the red zone when tyreek can’t take the top off the defense but they ran all over Denver in the red zone today.

craziest part of this game was it was 21-10 late in the second with Denver getting great field possession after they stopped Miami on 4th down on their own 35
