They’re not sniffing the #1 seed with this group of receivers. Might not even make the playoffs. 😁

Haha yea supposedly I was responding to a chiefs fan talking about previous seasons though.  Apparently they’re so good they don’t even need to try in the regular season despite 5 of their 6 division games last year being won by a total of like 10 points 😂

Well, we now have verification that Kelce and Jones make a huge difference

    Chris Jones gonna get paid!

I feel like I watch a different game sometimes lol the chiefs dline was dominant in this one.  That’s the only reason the game was close.

I don’t think that game made kc any more likely to cave to Chris jones

the chiefs treat the regular season like it's preseason. the bills treat a chiefs loss like it's winning the super bowl.

You think the perpetual one seed who always has a massive competitive advantage with a bye/home field in the playoffs treats the regular season like the preseason? Lol

Chiefs will be good, and they will get jones and kelce back. But let’s hope they drop some games here And don’t get homefield.

They still have huge question marks at offensive tackle…that was absolutely insane what they were getting away with today.  Chiefs oline should’ve gotten massacred about as much as they did in the Super Bowl vs the bucs

Mahomes looked like a good player but not elite without Kelce. Reminds me of all the Allen haters before he had Diggs

He missed a lot of throws when having to evade pass rushers so I don’t think Kelce is gonna step in and fix all their problems…he will certainly help though no question

JAGS everywhere but QB and TE for skill position but all the JAGS have to do is catch a ball from the best QB in the NFL right now.  I mean they were wide open! The last drop was literally a TD if he holds on to it.

I mean to be fair MVS made an all time ridiculous catch that ended up resulting in a td too…so the football gods giveth and taketh lol

Chiefs aren’t a lock against the Jags even WITH Kelce in.

Yea seriously…absolutely no way the chiefs oline is getting away with that insane display again.  Every team is probably calling the league office as we speak haha. They may have gotten shut out tonight if it wasn’t for that

It helps he didn’t have Kelce out there tonight. Just shows how important he is to that offense. That and dropped balls and one goes threw a guys hands for an INT.  The Chiefs WR look meh to bad tonight, I did like the TE though.

They have jags at every skill position but TE…it’s pretty lucky they haven’t had a game like this yet imo

Terrico already the first to say this loss for KC comes with an asterisk for no Jones and Kelce. Expect that the be the media go to tomorrow all day long.

No jones and Kelce but nearly unlimited offensive holds and false starts lol look at how badly one hold derailed their final drive and imagine that all game.

I hope this is what the Chiefs look like in a year or two when Kelce begins to decline...

It’s the oline mostly…they just let a serviceable tackle and a good tackle leave inexplicably lol  I don’t think just adding Kelce back fixes all the issues

everyone always sends all the credit mahomes’ way but that pass blocking was a hugely important component.  They’d be getting butchered in the trenches right now if their olinemen weren’t getting away with murder

Yea, it's amazing. Without good protection at the RT spot and not having Kelce to just heave it to Mahomes is actually mortal. Who would have think it?

If the rules applied to his RT I’m pretty confident the lions would win this one lol

Calling the WR room better than 2020 makes no sense to me personally. Diggs/Brown/unwashed Cole/Davis.

Gabe Davis was WR4 in that room!

I don’t want to put words in his mouth but I think he’s comparing on paper going into the season that year to on paper going into the season this year.  Like did anyone really know cole was unwashed or John brown was gonna go over 1k receiving yards?

I think it’s josh making the receivers more so than the receivers making josh so it’s very possible someone maybe unexpected going into the season is gonna go off this year also.

Really depends on how Becton plays out at tackle/if he can stay healthy… but McGovern is a good Center and AVT is as well inside… but let’s not forget this defensive line got clowned by the back ups of one of the worst offensive lines in football last season to end their season… and I favor the Jets offensive line vs our defensive line compared to our offensive line vs the Jets defensive line…. But Josh’s mobility might make it a wash.

    This.

burrow gets the ball out quick to elite, physical receivers that get open fast and can beat you deep so you have to respect that as well.  we were down Daquan jones also which imploded the run defense so the bengals really were never in a position where pass rush could’ve effected them too much.

I agree with a lot of what you said but I don’t think there’s much use in extrapolating the bengals results into the jets game especially when we added a pretty good pass rusher in Leonard Floyd.

the jets oline could really be anywhere between good and bad depending on how the tackles hold up.  Brown is getting up there in age and he’s coming off a season ending surgery and becton is pretty much always injured.  Jets oline definitely has a higher ceiling if they get a return to form from brown and becton holds up, but they’ve got a lower floor as well if those guys struggle.  Not sure if a tricep surgery can have any negative lasting effects on an OL but that’s something to keep an eye on with Vera-tucker too

I’d be pretty surprised if the jets win this game honestly, I’m sure that will change in the second matchup but right now they’ve just got so many moving parts with guys returning from injury that haven’t seen game action in awhile and a new qb/OC and so on

Glad football is back, but I do not like this matchup…

If you’ve gotta play the jets, week 1 seems like the best bet imo.  Rodgers just hasn’t logged the game time with a lot of these guys yet

also Duane brown, Mekhi becton, Vera-tucker and breece hall will be starting their first games post surgeries(if becton even starts)

away against the jets week 1 and home later in the season was as good as it could’ve worked out for us

it’s pretty reasonable to assume they’ll see some offensive growing pains as Brady started pretty slowly on a much more stacked bucs offense

  15. I think if the oline can improve a bit, josh will be a lot more willing to take short throws.  Of course none of us are in his head, but it’s gotta be frustrating knowing a drive killing holding penalty or a sack from pretty much instant pressure was extremely likely on any drive with a high play count.

I sure hope so! I was never a big Tre fan in the first place. I think he had a lot of good games vs less talented teams. He built stats in games where he piled the tackles, int's in meaningless games. But when we face a good team with good receivers he is absent. He does not attack like a "new NFL" CB. he doesn't have and never did have that animal instinct. Tre is good (or can be) but not great. He worries me too and NFL coaches know this. Monday night will sure show us a lot. My worry is we will watch the Tre-get-burned holding his hands up in the air Tre... like we usually do.

Yea some of that can be more the system than him as a player…a lot of those people known as lockdown corners play a lot of man typically.  The bills seem to be more into disguising different types of zone coverage well…that’s pretty anecdotal though I don’t know the rates we play man vs zone vs some combo of the two

I would think it could’ve been conditioning for tre last season too…I don’t think his slow start was all because of not trusting his knee. Although that’s impossible to know for sure

some of it can be when he returned,  pass rush is a dbs best friend and ours fell off a cliff when we lost von.

  17. Corner play doesn’t seem like it’s at a super high premium in the McDermott system anyway so as long as he’s better than last year we should be fine.

the safety play last year felt like it hurt a lot more than the corners…hopefully we’ve got a healthy hyde/poyer combo.

  18. Man I am truly the kiss of death lol. I was just on Reddit defending the pats(yuck) from jets and dolphins fans dunking on them and I was like ‘they have the best oline in the division and they dumped the bum Matt Patricia so I wouldn’t write them off yet’

this is going to be a weird year for me…I’d much rather see the jets and dolphins grab that last in the division spot than the pats.  Never would’ve thought that could happen

  19. The hype train seems to only be with nfl tv personalities lol. All this talk of the bills demise and jets being elite and yet they are 2.5 point home dogs to buffalo and their season over/under is set at 9.5 most places

Unfortunately that will likely continue, once a db becomes a household name/media darling they seem to get away with murder for years
