Very good signing. I'm interested to see the contract though. Rostering five vet DTs all making $3M+ per year doesn't seem like a great use of cap space.
DT depth murdered us against cincy last year so it’s tough to dislike this signing

The 49er system doesn't really require a top notch QB especially in the regular season. Their defense is elite and they have an innovative offensive minded coach.
The Bills are no lock to win 11 or 12 games. Their division competition is obviously very tough. Not a lot of separation between the Jets and Miami. NE seems to be lagging behind quite a bit.
Also, the Bills schedule looks pretty tough on paper.
I'm staying away from betting over or under. I think Vegas has it just about right.
I think the Chiefs win 12 games so long as Mahomes is healthy.
The division is tough but we underperformed in the division last year I’d say. the division record from last year will likely remain the same. Also last years schedule looked very difficult on paper going into the season and it never shakes out the way you think it’s gonna.

I think your wrong if you think this guy is just a WR.
PASS SNAPS-401
IN-LINE SNAPS-142
SLOT SNAPS-221
His game is in the slot, but do not be delusional that this kid Just plays Slot. He did a lot of good stuff on the LOS as well. Not top end blocking of course not
BUT
Just because the dude can not run block does not mean he won't at times be lined up on the LOS, chip block then go out to receive. No one is going to ask him to be gronkowski and block DE/EDGE but that does not mean he can not play on the line and help chip then take passes against very good defensive lines.
Silliness to think he is just a WR. Those 2023 numbers do not lie..
and by the way, even Kelce spends 15% of his snaps on the offensive line... I expect our guy to be around 20%
Are you replying to the right person? Lol idk where I said Kincaid ‘only’ plays slot. He can play virtually anywhere a wr or TE can play making him an ‘easy mode’ for an offensive coordinator is what I said 😂

Ugh...I like the jets pick
I feel like they had to go OL in round 1 though…McDonald is a good player but that is still a strange pick to me. The rodgers trade put them way into win now mode and don’t really have the luxury of hoping guys develop

This is not going to take a crazy new playbook. Kincaid is a big slot. He's going to lineup as a wr.
Right out of Beane's mouth, a 12 with Knox and Kincaid is really an 11 formation. Because Kincaid is a receiver.
I’ve been saying the same thing lol. I feel like most people have this backwards because if anything a player like Kincaid is ‘easy mode’ for an allegedly not very creative offensive coordinator…the guy can line up anywhere and do pretty much anything a wr or pass catching TE can do.
the only knock on him is blocking which is something Knox is pretty good at
Knox is mostly a vertical TE in the passing game that does not have the route running prowess/hands that Kincaid does. There’s not a whole lot of overlap between the two of them.
If we truly got another knox (like some people are incorrectly stating) then things get tough for an OC because you’ve got two guys that mostly only excel at verticals.
A big factor in knox being underutilized in the passing game is he’s not as accomplished a route runner as someone like Kincaid is

The Cincinnati Bengals and Josh Allen did that. There aren't a lot of top 5 QBs that are in situations where they aren't "perennial contenders". Beane and McD have completely failed to build and utilize a roster that can get this team tot he next level, and I'm not sure that's debatable. What beneifit of the doubt have the earned exactly?
Beane makes trades for guys McD won't play. He drafts players McD won't play. He gives big contracts to guys that McD won't utilize. How do you excuse all of that? How many young up and coming stars do we have on this team?I’d say that first point is at the minimum debatable… we had a potential shot at the 1 seed despite experiencing just about as much adversity as I’ve ever seen a team face.
No von, down two run stuffing DTs there’s virtually no way to stop the bengals.
and on the offensive side we were missing a big target chain mover/red zone threat which we have addressed and the offensive line was an absolute mess which has been addressed also. If we get blown out in the second round of the playoffs again I’d start to get a little more in line with your way of thinking but I would not say they have ‘completely failed to build and utilize a roster that can get this team to the next level’ yet
The bengals are getting a lot of production out of rookie contracts because they bottomed out/lost their qb to injury and stacked their roster with offensive talent…there’s no way they can resign all those guys.
Im not even sure the chiefs roster is stacked on paper they just have two guys on offense that are absolute freaks of nature and they nailed down the offensive line which hopefully we have done this offseason- 3

Oh good. A special teamer with a premium asset third round pick. Why do they waste second and third round picks with these guys? Who cares what Smiley wants? Use rounds 5-7 and UDFAs to get Smiley what he needs. Add him to the pile of mediocre LBs after Milano. We didn’t need another Will. We need a Mike. Back to back head scratching third round picks.
‘A special teamer right away’ doesn’t mean they don’t expect him to develop into a starting linebacker role to be fair. Wasn’t a deep mlb class…outside of jack Campbell I don’t think there was a ‘no doubter contribute right away mlb’ in the entire draft let alone late in the third.
if we had a fourth rounder still maybe there’s a slight chance he’s still on the board in the 4th but I doubt it. I’d pick the guy with the highest ceiling there and it looks like that’s what we did…it’s not like they are incapable of increasing his playing weight/strength

Kincaid is an excellent pick in terms of talent. The real question is whether or not Dorsey can actually draw up a gameplan that utilizes Knox and Kincaid effectively.
He has the talent to line up at any wr position…I really don’t get this notion that dorsey has to do rocket science to the scheme to try to incorporate two TEs lol
kincaid is arguably the best pass catcher in the draft flat out, it’s not like ‘yea he’s pretty good at catching the ball/running routes for a tight end’

I know nothing about this guy so I can’t provide input personally but I don’t think I’ve ever seen a bigger disjoint between what fans are saying and what the nfl analysts are saying about a draft pick lol

That's been the Bills offense the last 4 years
Thankfully Miami and NYJ have the same issues and I don’t think rodgers or tua are as capable in those situations.
We might have had the best offensive line in the division last year and it was so bad 😂

Fair points.
I'm a cardiologist not a sports med or orthopedic guy so I can't really refute this idea that the short to intermediate throws were somehow harder. Yet I can't think of any reason why they would be.
Regardless it's on to next season and hopefully Josh is just a bit cleaner with the ball.
I saw a good video on it somewhere but can’t find it now of course lol. There’s a lot more danger underneath if your accuracy isn’t quite there compared to overthrowing guys deep too which seemed to be his common miss.

Would have liked March
Hope Torrence falls to us
It's not all on Dorsey. We all saw guys open underneath and Allen passed up the easy completion for the hero play too often. Too many picks.
But bad Oline play almost all year and the elbow injury took its toll on Josh.
Not that he needs to rebound because he was still incredible, bit I hope Josh is a little less error prone and a little more conservative this year with more weapons.
Could be wishful thinking but I think the elbow injury really hurt his touch/accuracy on the underneath stuff. Also like you touched on its pretty tough to string a 10+ play drive together with the underneath throws/checkdowns when the probability of a holding penalty/sack blowing up the whole drive is super high with the offensive line we were trotting out there

Knox stayed in to block alot because the line was garbage. Hopefully the additions will open that up to use Knox more often. I expect Dalton to line up like Beas in most of his plays
It’s honestly pretty crazy how much production we got on offense with a qb with a bum elbow and a couple big time weak links on the offensive line
unfortunately it caught up with us in the playoffs

lol. Wasn’t he like a 4th alternate or something, anyway?
True lol but he was still a heck of a lot closer to the worst guard in the league than the best 😂

This OL pick reminds me of how funny it is that Rodger saffolds last game played in his career may be the pro bowl 😂. Good enough to make the pro bowl but not any nfl roster in the following year lol

Quick, without googling, who is the KC MLB?
Isn’t it nick Bolton and he’s good haha. Point made though…they’ve won championships with some legitimate scrubs on defense

The afc east offensive lines are an absolute mess lol it’s legitimately crazy for three teams to be so highly touted yet not do too much to address the same massive issue lol

While I am joining those giving Dorsey some side-eye about being able to maximize explosive players part of me wondered "Well, what would I do with him?"
So I figured, why not make a place where people would put in some X's and O's about how they would try use Kincaid
Quick idea for me would using him as a slotback, effectively lining up in the slot but behind to the line.
Curious what other people come up with.
The dude can and will line up at any wr position…I keep reading ‘josh Allen only throws to wide receivers’ and Kincaid definitely qualifies as that lol
he’s not really a true tight end…he’s a lot closer to a big target wr2/wr3

Ugghh....the Dolphins got a good one there.
Good player but idk if that’s a position of need for them really or even a good fit…he’s also much better at zone than man and plays mostly outside. I guess we might see a big schematic shift under fangio
They need oline help badly…whoever sorts their offensive line mess out between the bills jets and dolphins have a huge advantage winning the division

Great pick Raiders
Could be a great pick by both the raiders and the bills lol i just don’t see how Mayer could possibly be seen as the better pick for buffalo based on what the bills were looking for/already have.

Entusiasm runs high this time of year.
I remember the euphoria over Oliver and how he was the next Aaron Donald, and Cook last year, that he wouldn't just be another role player, yet many were hoping for a RB and still are in rounds 2 or 3. And Rousseau.
We'll see what happens, but rookie TEs typically don't make an immediate impact. I'm not sure how many more years Beane and McD have left before cries for their replacements begin to surface.
For now talk is cheap and the sky's the limit.
Time will tell as it always does. But going by popular opinion here is meaningless.
To be fair Rousseau and cook still have the opportunity to be absolute beasts. They were both trending upwards last season for sure.
cook pretty much wrestled the starting job away from singletary and made him expendable…I think calling him a role player is a bit underselling it.
book has probably been written on Ed oliver though…he seems to be destined to be a pretty good dt but nothing special

I'm going with a soft 'no', because there were still a lot of great players on the board, and this was something of a luxury pick. Don't get me wrong, I like the player a lot, but he will have to make a pretty big impact for this to be a square deal. As with all draft picks, we don't know if that will pan out.
I feel like the only alternative was to trade back there and we would not really have a chance at a high impact offensive player

Probably takes awhile to corroborate that with multiple witness accounts…he would’ve needed some rock solid alibi to prove what time he left and arrived somewhere else quickly without relying on witnesses.
