  1. That would be superb; nor due I live in the Superdome circa 2013. But I like your spirit!
  2. I wouldn't say that I was overjoyed with Tyrod when he played here, but in comparison to most of the QBs who I've seen here play since 1974, or I guess more specifically since 2000, he was stable enough so that the team could acquire other pieces. I wish the guy the best, and I think that any rational Bills' fan knew that Tyrod was just keeping the seat warm, in particular after a coaching/FO change, until a new QB was drafted.
  3. I admit that I didn't see the whole game. I saw most of the first half, and the very end, due to an electrical issue at the house that I needed to diagnose (turns out that it was a tripped GFI ,but still... had to check everything in an old house like ours), but Allen looks really good. I'm glad that he didn't have to run and run and run, and more importantly I'm glad that he didn't cough it up.
  4. I don't feel this way about the Bills this year, or really since 2017, but...
  5. Technically, if in incognito mode, you can read the series for free. That was my observation, at least, and not sure if this was by design or a mistake on their part.
  6. I'm actually thrilled that we get to witness a replay of this cautionary tale... in real time.
  7. Rivers will do what Rivers does: all the trash talking, "motivating" his teammates, putting on a smoke show, then losing. Fair enough, but Gronk for 11 yards?! That seems like it shouldn't be happening.
  8. I enjoyed this writeup, as (almost) always. Welcome back, @Shaw66!
  9. The whole situation in TB reminds me of the 2000 Redskins nee WFT season. Arians is a really good coach, but you can't un-spill certain situations. Given that it's Brady and Gronk, they'll win some games, but I would be shocked if TB is in it -- in late December.
  10. Eric Clapton wrote a song about what's likely to become of TB this season; I'm sure of it.
  11. True, and correct me if I'm wrong, but Rosen came a year ahead of KK. While I think that teams like WFT and NYJ will draft QBs very frequently, KK had the say to do what he wanted, and he did (Rosen, obviously, is awful).
  12. Yes, I agree with your take as well, and is also why I do not agree with the 300-yard benchmark that many a Bills' fan has set.
  13. I liked Taylor, in particular because he stabilized the position until the Bills could draft someone else. But that 200 yards thing? Yikes.
  14. I admit that, while watching Brady play his first game in TB, something made a thudding noise under my desk earlier, and it wasn't my knee. Philip Rivers, well... I can't believe that he's back. I find myself intrigued by the AZ/SF game, like even more than TB probably going to lose his first in TB.
  15. You did well here, @Virgil! Allen still does some things that are maddening to me, but at the end of the day? As someone who remembers watching Bills' football since 1974 (born in 1971), I've seen many, many QBs come and go. While I'm not married to a 300-yard performance as a benchmark to success, I am 100% on board that we have a hard-working QB who has skills that I haven't seen on this team for decades.
  16. In fairness, it's not just 80% completion, but also 400 yards. </sarcasm>
  17. I wrote something along these lines in either the first or second half threads earlier, but my expectations for the Bills, and for the rest of the league the first 6-8 games of this season, are somewhat low. I think that given the number of should-be moribund teams this year (see also: Jets, New York), the Bills should end up in a good position for a playoff run, but it's going to take a few weeks for a lack of preseason activity for things to settle down from these unusual set of circumstances. I liked a lot of what I saw today, so I won't rehash the positives that the vast majority of us saw. What I didn't like, in no specific order, was: Allen being careless with the ball in the first half / the number of runs. I'm not an Allen hater by any stretch, but my goodness. Please stop! Kicking game. Yeah, I get the rookie aspect and all, but with what seems like an all-around solid team, I do not want a repeat of the Norwood years. I'm getting old fer chrissakes. Injury bug on D. Running game looked like it took time to get going. You can win with that issue against the Jets, but against the rest of the league? Not sure that it's going to fly.
  18. And that appears to be just the tip of the iceberg with the Jets.
  19. 300 yards as a stat in and of itself doesn't matter. Having written that, I'll take it. 🙂
  20. I wonder if a unicorn will trot across my yard when it happens. I asked Santa for one this year, but early gifts can be fun too!
  21. Ah, right, I forgot: Rivers! I suspect that this season will feature about 6-8 weeks of trash ball (league wide) before it really shakes out. I think that the Bills make the playoffs again, and from there we'll see.
  22. Somebody's gotta show that kicker the poster for first aid for choking.
