Pulse check - How confident are you that we can beat the Browns
Greg S replied to damj's topic in The Stadium Wall
Should have never come down to that. The Jefferson catch, the Allen fumble. None of it should have mattered. 27-10 a three-score lead with 1:51 left in the 3rd quarter at home. The Bills can't close it out. The Cook TD changed everything. The Bills lost momentum at that point and never really got it back. -
At 6-3 it isn't an actual must win game but in many ways it is. The Dolphins and Jets are good. We can correct that by beating them at home, but they need to stay with them in the standings. All three teams have three losses so record wise the Bills are still OK. Lose here and go 6-4 and the Bills can find themselves trailing them. It's going to be a fight to win the AFCE this year.

Pulse check - How confident are you that we can beat the Browns

Jacoby Brissett isn't beating the Bills so it will come down to these 3 factors. IMHO 1. Do a decent job containing Chubb. He will make plays and get his yards but the Bills can't let him go off. By that I mean more than 130 yards rushing with 2 TD's or more. 2. Bills OL must play well. The Browns can get after the QB with their front 4 pretty well. Garrett is a beast. The Bills will have to hold their own in the battle at the LOS. 3. Turnovers - hopefully we get them and don't give them any. Allen needs to improve here. Stop always trying to play hero ball BS. Take what the defense gives you is a smart play. -
Poor coaching by McDermott is becoming a theme

McDermott reminds me of Chuck Knox. Good coach who will turn a team around but can never get over the hump. Knox had good teams with the Rams, Bills, and Seahawks but he could never get that Super Bowl win. -
Wawrow hints an Internal Issues with the Bills
Greg S replied to CountDorkula's topic in The Stadium Wall
My biggest problem with Beane is the OL. Allen covers up for the OL by scrambling and being able to avoid the rush. We have to be one of the worst if not the worst team in short yardage situations.- 960 replies

Adam Gase did the same for Joe Douglas with the Jets. -
Chubb against our "great" run D. Garrett against our "great" OL. What could possibly go wrong.

There are so many plays we can point to in the loss but to me it was the Cook 81-yard TD run that changed the game. Bills just kicked a FG go up 27-10 with 1:51 left in the 3rd quarter. Not 1st half, not early or midway thru the 3rd quarter but late 3rd quarter they have a three-score lead. Even if the Vikings score on that drive at least make them do it in 10 plays or so and use clock. No, they score instantly and now the lead is cut to 10 and still in the 3rd quarter. The Bills never had control of the game or momentum from that point on. Even when they came back to tie it at 30 I still didn't feel good because OT is always a crap shoot.

On to Minnesota (get this game in the rear view mirror!)

How effective can Tre be if he plays. He hasn't played in a game in about a year. To ask him to take on a heavy workload right away is probably unrealistic. -

Gallagher, the observational and prop comedian known for smashing watermelons as part of his act, has died at the age of 76. TMZ reports that Gallagher passed away Friday, November 11th, under hospice care. He had been in ill health after suffering several heart attacks in recent years. During his heyday in the 1980s, Gallagher was one of the most popular acts in comedy, filming multiple specials for HBO and Showtime. His signature bit involved using a large wooden mallet — which he called the “Sledge-O-Matic” — to smash watermelons and other objects. The segment actually began as a parody of the Veg-O-Matic commercials that saturated television in the 1960s, but Gallagher’s wit ensured that the Slede-O-Matic lasted long after the Veg-O-Matic had been all but forgotten. In 2004, Comedy Central ranked Gallagher as the 100th best standup comedian of all time. He took issue with his placement, however, saying in an interview at the time: “I looked at the other people and I was trying to find anyone I ever heard of. How could I be behind people I never heard of? … I made 13 one-hour shows for Showtime. I invented the one-man show on cable.” In 2003, Gallagher ran for governor of California in the state’s gubernatorial recall election, and finished in 16th place after receiving nearly 5,500 votes. In the recently released “Weird Al” Yankovic biopic, Gallagher was portrayed by Paul F. Tompkins. This is a developing story…

It depends on the time. If Allen is out for a significant amount of time, then the Bills are screwed. But if it's just for this week then they will be fine. I mentioned this before, but the Vikings are 25th in total defense, 20th against the pass, and 2nd worst against the run. The Bills should be able to move the ball in this game. Will they be able to finish drives is the real question.

Trump vs. DeSantis, who is your man?

No doubt about that. -

DeSantis did great in the midterms. He is very conservative, but he also knows how to play the political game. Something Trump didn't do very well. -
How much on Sunday will be an evaluation of Brandon Beane?

Since the season is over, what’s everyone doing on Sunday?

Season over at 6-2? You never would have survived 1984 and 1985 or most of the 70's for that matter. -

Beane has done a good job overall. This is a good team 6-2. Back-to-back division champs. Four playoff appearances in 5 years. However, he still needs to improve the OL and if Singeltary isn't the answer then RB as well. This team relies on Josh too much. That needs to change. I thought our WR group would be better. Diggs is great but the rest have been somewhat disappointing.
