Khalil Mack trade - what would it take?

Take quake! Khalil Mack should have just gotten 100 sacks last year if he wanted to impact the Chargers. Meaningless otherwise. -

Your link says 3.5 fwiw. -
That Rodgers is currently washed. And Stafford isn’t. Which is why Stafford as a less than mobile QB and a crappy OL can still be effective and Rodgers can’t.
-
The OL in LA is even worse and Stafford hasn’t looked nearly as washed as Rodgers. He was drafted 20 years ago. He’s cooked. If the Jets built an elite OL, could they win a few more games? Probably. Would they have been contenders? No.

You are correct. An extremely unpopular take. Borderline heretical. Mack past Chicago - overrated. Mack Chicago/Raiders - arguably the best EDGE player in the league. -
I think if I’m an NFL GM, I stay away from guys who don’t play a lot in college. Richardson has unbelievable physical gifts, but has zero feel for the position and week to week in the NFL is not the place to learn. These coaches have always thought “get me a lot of arm/physical talent and I can teach them the rest,” but it rarely works out. Josh Allen types are 1 in a million, and honestly, I don’t know how much credit the Bills deserve in developing him.
-
What is the logical reason to not do so? Teams like the Bills shouldn’t trade with KC as a general rule because they will likely stand in our way in January. The pats don’t have to worry about that. Mahomes may not even still be around by the time they return to contention.
-
Rodgers really ruined his own legacy. He was a top 3 QB for nearly 15 years and only won a single Super Bowl. All QBs have different situations, but this isn’t a “Mahomes is in Josh’s way” or “Brady is in Peyton’s way.” The story of Rodgers is going to be “all time great player, but his personality and leadership held him back.” Even Brady, a notorious psycho, has former teammates who gush about him. Nobody has former teammates who routinely trash him or just have nothing good to say like Rodgers. He has gotten only worse since being empowered, first by Green Bay and now by the Jets. The Packers saying enough is enough and taking Jordan Love was an all-time move. Love may not ever be elite, but that team had to cut out Rodgers to move forward.

I have consistently argued that McD is in the tier of Harbaugh/Tomlin, very good coaches but not elite. Somehow those franchises stick with those guys because they won Super Bowls when Obama was President. I think both would be gone if that wasn’t the case, but franchises are silly.

Who has been the best Bills player not named Josh Allen?
FireChans replied to HappyDays's topic in The Stadium Wall
Cook. Consistently above average performance. Arguably our greatest weapon on offense. Pops on screen every week. Averaging an impressive (for running backs) 10.4 YPC. Benford has also been excellent, but zone corners don’t get as much shine even when they are excellent Bernard has made his impact known when healthy but has really struggled to stay on the field this season. His nose for the football is legitimately amazing, just always around turnovers and fumbles. Da’Norris Searcy on steroids. IMO, our 3 stars not named Josh have been those 3. Brown, Dawkins, Taron, Shakir are all nice players but I don’t think they are stars. I will say Shakir’s wiggle is elite. Brady gushing over him made sense, he has that knack to catch a 2 yard pass and somehow get 8. I can only imagine Seahawk fans yesterday were screaming “just tackle him!” like we used to do for Edelman every year. -
They took on his prorated salary of $11.6M from the Raiders. Two games of that have been paid now. So what does that put him at? If they are crossing the threshold of trading him again and giving up on the season, do you think they would be balk at another 4M?
-
If they are trading a dude after 2 weeks to recoup picks, I don't think they care about financials.

All teams win more with major leads than in close games.

So why was Amari Cooper traded twice in his prime?

Ahem. I sorta get it. -
Bills kicking the tires on Kupp trade with Rams?
FireChans replied to loyal2dagame's topic in The Stadium Wall
No ones ever taken a $40M cap hit to trade away a WR either. i don’t think it’s likely by any means. But if you called the Jets tomorrow and offered a 2025 second, I think they think long and hard about it. -

I think it’s self explanatory lol. “Curtis Samuel and Terrell Bernard are really making a difference out there!” -

I think we go for Davante Adams when he’s back on the block tbh. -
I have watched the Rams games he’s played. He has been the worst player on the field. Sucks because he was great at one point (that whole 2017 first round class was elite tbh). But he’s done. He won’t be on a team next year.

FireChans replied to PoundingDog's topic in The Stadium Wall
There’s some validity here. IIRC, the largest knock on Amari has been that he would disappear for stretches, particularly in Dallas but also Cleveland. He would have a 200 yard game then go 2 for 23 the next week or even have a couple catches in the 1st Q then be invisible. I can’t exactly verify those claims because I can’t admit to watching every snap, but I definitely remember that criticism. And for a guy of his talent and health to have only passed 1200+ receiving yards in this era once, there’s probably some truth to a lack of consistency. Ultimately, the THREAT of an Amari Cooper is worth just as much as his actual production IRT this offense, maybe even more. And this team isn’t really going to be looking to him for leadership as a hired gun brought in midseason.
