I think there’s a really good argument that Daboll is not HC material. His operation has really suffered the last two years, but that happens to even good coaches when the lockerroom loses faith. I think he’s a good offensive coach tho. @BADOLBILZ is just waiting to annihilate me for that take as he always does, but I’m still firm.

Frazier had multiple All-Pros. Not saying he can’t coach or gets no credit but that affects the view. Is there a player currently on the 2024 Bills defense that will have an All-Pro nod in the next 2 seasons? Outside of TJ who has already missed significant time. I think getting JAGs like Cam Lewis and Ingram to be net positives on the roster is weighed like turning Micah Hyde, a a good player, into an All-Pro tbh. All that being said, there’s only so much blood you can get from that stone. Turning guys like Cam Lewis into an All-Pro is not a coaching issue. It’s a talent issue. And that’s why this defense, imo, is weaker than it has been.

They make their money regardless. It’s not like the Jets are in the red. The MLB is a bit different with no salary cap, but by the same token, the disparity of owners who vote to win with their wallet are obvious.

That’s fair but we can also call a spade a spade. They are 10th in points per drive, 18th in yards per drive, 21st in plays per drive and 23rd in time per drive. They are above average at best. That’s still above average, but the worst since 2020 in basically every category. And yes, a lot of that has to do with guys like Williams and Hamlin starting, no doubt. I think the best thing we have going for us is that Babich is kind of a wild X factor. This D still has McD fingerprints but new DC means maybe we roll out some wrinkles KC or Baltimore isn’t prepared for. There’s reason for hope. I think our best chance to beat a team like KC in the postseason that has had our number historically is a coaching/strategic change that they may not expect.

They can trade him and save $31M next year. If they cut him, they save $3M and have a $27M dead hit. It sounds like a lot but he effectively has no guarantees in 2026 if he’s off the team. The rest of his contract kicks in 3rd day of the league year in 26. they did do a little rework, but I think he will be gone. He’s definitely gone in 26 but they can rip the bandaid off sooner.

100% on the too cute part. They had a 4th and short, I think where they lined up Achane RIGHT behind the A gap and Tua in the gun and I thought, what is this formation trying to accomplish. They converted because Tua had some time but it was just a bit too much for no reason. Hill also will not be a Dolphin much longer. I think he’s slowed but I think McDaniel has intentionally gone more TE/RB heavy. I think that’s done intentionally to simulate a run game and dink and dunk and create a more “sustainable” offense. You don’t need to pay both Waddle and Hill to decoy for that.

They weren’t set correctly until far past 12-13 seconds. It was a disaster but this is what happened. 1. Bears call normal play, expecting to get it off with at least 5-6 seconds left, leaving time for completion and TO or clock stoppage worn incomplete. 2. Bears offense fails to get set, wasted another good 10 seconds, snap doesn’t come with 6 second left, Bears can’t communicate with Caleb to tell him to throw short or turf if nothing there. 3. Caleb of course throws deep 4. Game over Eberflus should have called TO once the clock got low. Caleb should have thrown it short. Both screwed up, but one is the #1 overall pick rookie, and the other is a completely garbage HC.

They do but they still very rarely get hired after 1 good year. Callahan was the OC in Cincy and it took 3 years of Burrow and him for him to get a shot. Daboll was the OC in Buffalo for 3 years. McDaniel and Canales are the only 2 that come to mind and neither had a Josh Allen type at their previous stops. We played this game 12 weeks in with Dorsey about how many HC jobs he was gonna get and he ended up fired and taking an OC job in name only getting Stefanski coffee.
