We are back to 2021. Let’s get another Von Miller because Josh can cobble together some good offensive performances by doing literally everything. I won’t argue the defense doesn’t need help. If Milano is washed the talent is bad. Really, the only young player I would offer a second contract to is Benford. Cupboard is kinda bare. But the defense has GOTTEN a lot of help. I’m very sick and tired of prioritizing the defense and saying the offense is “fine”, when the defense will inevitably suck and fall apart in the biggest moments while we know that Josh won’t.

IMO, the time for trying to find a bunch of guys to be Bills for 10+ years is over hopefully we win it all this year. If we don’t, the plan HAS to be “how do we win a SB in the next two seasons if we disregard everything else.” Every year Josh plays and doesn’t win a SB, the chance of it happening in his career only goes one direction.

Feel bad for Cleveland because they will throw the baby out with the bathwater if they blow it up. Stefanski can coach imo. If they can him, I would expect him to get HC offers right away.

The next Dalton Kincaid would be disastrous. He’s approaching bust territory. Sure but it’s not like we are getting massive savings. Hes cuttable but are we gonna find another tub of goo to play 1T for $2M? Maybe.

IMO, while all this conversation about strategy is all well and good, I think we need to have a conversation about Jimmy’s and Joe’s. there were several key plays or big third downs where the call was right, the coverage was good (Taron Johnson was in good position) and Puka just made a play and TJ didn’t. I think the world of Taron, but he may have gotten cooked more than he’s ever been cooked in his career. The coaching adjustments or lack thereof may have changed the game. A few key plays made or not made by some defenders paid handsomely may have also changed the game.

Hes basically a pass rush specialist 3T that has seen his pass rushing fall off a cliff. too undersized to do much else consistently. Hes not getting doubled at a high rate. A few years ago it was 55%. This year feels like less. A player getting paid like he does drawing single teams simply needs to win those favorable matchups more. He doesn’t. Hes just not that good. Even when we played the Ravens, they let him penetrate a bit and wash himself out of the play. Another “fine” NFL player drafted and paid to be a star. Common theme.
