I think they're a young team that will get better as the season progresses and probably take a measurable step forward by the time it's all said and done. I know squat about developing 'tenders but it wouldn't break my heart to see some young prospects in the net some point. They're not making any playoff runs this year so squeeze out as many development opportunities as you can without sabotaging the kids' efforts.

Allen's final throw, bad decision or bad pass?
Simon replied to TwistofFate's topic in The Stadium Wall
If I remember right, they had run a really similar follow concept on the failed 4th and 2 not that long ago. Similar double clutch, similar late(ish) ball; the reason it probably wasn't picked was because it was low and short of the goalline. -
Highest graded defenders for Week 10 (Look who's 1st)
Simon replied to Gambit's topic in The Stadium Wall
He's spent most of his career playing like he had a length of #10 rebar jammed up his keister. Last Sunday was by far the most conscientious I've ever seen him about dropping his hips and keeping them there throughout the play. It's made an enormous difference in the quality of his play and if he keeps it up the Bills are going to have a difficult decision to make. -
Only if you're pulling him

Thanks for that. Would it potentially be a more effective/deceptive design with the X off the LOS so Knox could set up in line with a hand on the ground?
-
Are you talking about the aborted screen to Knox where Morse was getting out? I thought Allen turfed it because the RE dropped out. I'll take your word for it though because you forgot more about defensive calls while you were eating dinner than I'll ever know.
-
yeah, that may have been the case also; if it was, it was an even worse throw than I thought.
-
It's exactly what it's designed for. Davis clears the coverage and McKenzie runs a route into the clearing zone. imo, the Vikings secondary was late to react and it ironically left an extra guy in the spot the play was originally designed to attack and Allen had to adjust his throw.
-
The DB is late on his assignment and Davis actually gets across his face. I think Allen saw it happening and almost went to him but then double clutched and went back to McKenzie on the original design, who was not only heading into traffic that should have been cleared by Davis, but with a throw that was now a half second late.
-
This is not true at all. Oliver was banging on him all game and he also got tagged multiple times by several other defenders.
-
I thought he double clutched it because he was surprised to see Davis coming clean when he was supposed to be just clearing the zone for McKenzie, and he thought about going to him for a second. Looked like a zone dog with the End dropping instead of rushing. It's probably the only call that prevents a TD.

Wawrow hints an Internal Issues with the Bills
Simon replied to CountDorkula's topic in The Stadium Wall
Either that or they were pumping Toradol into him pregame. He ripped off at least 2-3 sidearm throws that he could not have managed with that nerve irritated. -
I hate it, but it's a valid point. At the time, I freely admit that I wanted him to go for it.

Wawrow hints an Internal Issues with the Bills

I said something yesterday about how Allen ought to be listening to Sinatra at halftime too. 🤷♂️ Passion is great at most positions, but at QB being dispassionate is equally as important, imo. -
Wawrow hints an Internal Issues with the Bills
Simon replied to CountDorkula's topic in The Stadium Wall
It's f'ing maddening. All we needed was a more traditional offense to consistently compliment a potentially great defense and instead we got a coked-up coordinator with zero self-restraint who thinks he's more important to the offense's success than the personnel on the field. If Buddy Ryan was still alive, I'd shove him into Dorsey's box, lock the door and let the fists fall where they may. -
Bills defense had 12 men on the field for Dalvin Cook red zone stop in OT
Simon replied to Logic's topic in The Stadium Wall
That was a disgustingly heads-up play by a very young WR. -

They work when you're consistently setting them up with shallower route combinations. That has mostly gone out the window. -
Wawrow hints an Internal Issues with the Bills
Simon replied to CountDorkula's topic in The Stadium Wall
He wants to score on every play and his OC is not only doing nothing to reign it in, he's actively exacerbating the problem. You've got two guys in concert trying to go full hero ball and it's leading to game-losing turnovers. McDermott needs to have an honest talk with Josh and then ride Dorsey into a chicken wing until he knocks it the hell off. -
Pulse check - How confident are you that we can beat the Browns
Simon replied to damj's topic in The Stadium Wall
I'm sure he was also licking his chops yesterday against a rushing defense that gives up more yards per carry than the Bills, right before he put up a whopping 63 yards. -

Ask me again when we know whether he have Groot, Edmunds and Poyer.
