Probably both. Give it some time though; these two are likely playing for a division title so things might heat up.

TV Broadcast Maps and Schedule - NFL Week 4 2023 (October 1)
Simon replied to chongli's topic in The Stadium Wall
lol..... I sent the following to the GM of Erie's CBS affiliate earlier today: Looking at your programming schedule, I was very relieved to see the following as it is inarguably the best NFL game on this weekend's schedule with significant local interest. 2023-2024 NFL Football on WSEE/CBS and WICU/NBC Week 4 - Sunday, Oct. 1 at 1 p.m. - Miami at Buffalo - WSEE/CBS But then when I look at your programming schedule I see that you have opted to switch to an absolutely gawdawful game involving Pittsburgh and the painfully unwatchable Houston Texans, neither of which are even in your broadcast area and which clearly goes directly against your stated policy: The local station has little say in what is aired nationally with some rare exceptions. Erie is in the Buffalo market and those games will come first here regardless of team record or state location when circumstance dictates. How you folks can choose to broadcast an awful out of market game instead of the best game of the week which involves the team that is actually in your market is totally baffling. I understand the difficulties your network(s) must face competing with the variety of current technology, but doing this sort of a disservice to your viewers cannot possibly help your position in any way, not to mention it almost certainly will bring a smaller share of viewers to your advertisers. I sincerely hope that before Sunday comes around you opt to go back to your original programming decision and provide your viewers with the best product available that the greatest number of people are likely to want to watch. If you choose not to do that, could you please take a brief moment to respond to this request with the suggestion of who I might contact that has the influence to alter this decision, whether that be someone in advertising, programming, etc? Thank you for your consideration, ******** ******* -
OLine/QB Unforced Error Review - All 22 - Week 3 - Washington

Not necessarily. The trips leaves Diggs with only one guy to beat. I'll take those odds on most snaps. -

His cutting him some slack has ZERO to do with his opinion; it was entirely about the clear, documented history of both players. Which he told you. And you proceeded to ignore so you could rag on him with your own spin. The last word is yours; I'm done clogging up a great thread with your self-aggrandizing bull####. -
The Bills biggest problem on offense remains unchanged

Give it a minute..... I guess I'm sort of going on priorities, i.e. if you can't protect your QB, it doesn't make a whole lot of difference who he's throwing to. -

What a load of bunk. This guy does everybody in this community an awesome favor by taking the time to do this and all you can do is rag on him because his detailed study doesn't match up with your own biases. Maybe either take the time to do your own study or keep your fact-free carping to yourself. Thank you Bocephuz; 99% of us appreciate what you're doing here. -
The Bills biggest problem on offense remains unchanged

Not disbelieving you but I'm having a hard time buying that because it was probably at least twice that number last week, and I specifically saw multiple instances of LMurray on the LOS engaging the Washington DE while Spencer was setting up in pass pro. Although I do admit to being preoccupied Sunday and being tuned out of the game during long stretches so you could be correct. -

And it's the only city close enough that I can snag networks via a long distance antenna. Real lifters can type with their noses. -
Probably some places you could get away with it but at this level I think these co-ordinators would munch your lunch real quick.

I wasn't being clear I guess. I was also saying (or trying to) that pulling a defender from somewhere to run a box and 1 (a tent and 1?) is probably going to compromise your defense.

Can you tell me who I've picked out as a punching bag every other year? No? Then maybe you should stop making up stuff about me and stick to the subject of the thread instead of dragging my discussion off topic. -
You can have mixed coverages, which typically might be man coverage underneath and zones over the top. Or you can flip your corners to make sure the CB you want is on the WR you want him covering (i.e. Tre White chasing Davante Adams to the other side of the field at times). But trying to run an effective zone while pulling one of your guys to man somebody up is probably going to compromise your defense in a way that makes it not worth it. Just too many people to cover on too many parts of the field to do it efficiently, imo.

The Bills biggest problem on offense remains unchanged
Simon replied to Simon's topic in The Stadium Wall
I just watched the Bills 3 RBs and 2 TEs combine for a grand total of about 30yrds receiving (or about 6 yrds per player) because they're busy spending half the game playing RT. It's a problem just about every week, regardless of whether they win. -

I'm not talking about the offensive line. I'm talking about Spencer Brown. -

The suggestion that he's shown improvement is not in any way a "fact". -
It continues to be the same problem that has been plaguing them for three years, and that problem is Spencer Brown. I give them credit for the solid job they have done hiding him so far, but the fact that they continue to have to go out of their way to protect him every week is absolutely handicapping what should be a much more efficient offense. When you have to commit skill players to blocking roles that often, it's like they're playing 10 on 11 out there. If you wonder why Kincaid and Knox aren't having big impacts check and see how long it takes them to actually get into their routes when they have to spend extra time protecting Spencer Brown before they can leave the LOS. If you wonder where Damien Harris and Latavius Murray are, look how often they are being asked to cover Spencer Brown. Hell, the Bills are actually using Murray on the LOS just to engage DE's while Brown is still getting set up in pass pro. I really like Spencer Brown and am glad he is on the roster. You tell him to bury the guy in front of him on a 34 dive, and that's what he'll usually do. But he simply does not have the feet to be a complete OT in the modern NFL and is never going to. The necessity for the Bills to take skill players and put them on their heels to protect Brown instead of using them to attack defenses is making it impossible for them to maximize their offensive talent. And as long as they insist on putting a Tackle out there who can't play Tackle in this league, it's going to continue to be a problem all year. I'm not a GM and have no idea what the in-season solution could be, or if there is even one available. The time to address the issue was the offseason and they didn't do enough solve the problem. I'm not saying it is going to sink their season down the road, but it is certainly going to make things much harder then they needed to be on offense for the rest of this year.

Actually there is an argument to be made that the DL in particular has been less aggressive, with Epenesa doing a better job keeping contain as opposed to blindly attacking, McDermott running more zone dawgs than Frasier and dropping DLinemen into coverage more often, Jordan Phillips playing a less reckless, more controlled game, etc. But thanks anyways for the smarmy insult; it really helped support the argument you put forth with zero evidence or examples.

I usually merge these into the Josh's Commercials thread, but that **** is too funny to bury.

The last time we saw Frazier's defense it was missing Hyde/DJones/Benford/JPhillips, had Poyer/Oliver/TWhite out there wrapped in duct tape and has also since added LFloyd and Bernard. What they're putting out there now is a massive upgrade in skill over what we last saw out there under Frazier. I won't argue against your point that they are now running similar schemes a bit more downhill, but imo that adjustment pales in comparison to the upgrade in healthy players on the field.

At the risk of having tomatoes thrown at me, it wouldn't have to be very big.

Fwiw, I'm not seeing much difference at all in what McDermott is running vs what Frazier was running for McDermott. If trends continue we'll see a fair amount more blitzing this weekend as the Bills have tended to really break out multiple blitz packages specifically against the Dolphins over the last several years. From my perspective, the most glaring difference by far between McDermott's defense and Frazier's is that the Bills personnel is currently healthy.
