Joe Burrow huge extension 5 years $275 million now highest paid QB

Show me where they don’t, it had nothing to do with the overall NFL financial health it’s a NFL requirement. ”The Cowboys, valued by Forbes at $8 billion, have an edge when it comes to signing players to guaranteed deals over a team like the Bengals, who according to Forbes are worth $3 billion. Neither club is going broke, certainly, but when owners sign a player to a fully guaranteed contract, NFL rules require the team to place the full dollar amount of the contract into an escrow account. Some owners, and family members, rely on income from the team for their livelihoods. Others, such as the Browns, who are owned by truckstop mogul Jimmy Haslam, who’s worth an estimated $5.5 billion, can afford to squirrel away $230 million more easily than some other organizations. The Watson deal could divide the NFL teams into haves and have-nots, with only the wealthiest owners able to lure top talent with guaranteed contracts.” -

The nice thing is those owners are not supper rich and that guaranteed money has to be set aside. It will hamper them going forward with other players. -

Wow, thank you for your service!!! Glad you made it back. Good post👍

Totally agree. But on the same train of thought you can’t continuously go long as that becomes easily defended. In the beginning of the season, the quick pass definitely set up the occasional long strike, that all but disappeared after the elbow injury. We still don’t appear to have an oline that can consistently provide the time needed for long developing plays. It will be interesting to see how the season plays out.

Saying there was never anything open underneath on a number of long throws is just ignorant. The difference on how the offense operated from the beginning of the season to the playoffs was night and day. Whether that was Allen’s elbow, arrogance, stupidity on Dorsey’s part is anyone’s guess. Being down two scores in the first quarter is no reason to give up what has consistently worked for this offense. Sorry you are provably wrong.

His offseason behavior is doing just as much damage.

The team has hugh needs. RT,LT, both safeties, a middle linebacker, underperforming DL, possibly CB’S. I would say Beane has been poor at drafting and mismanaging free agent acquisitions. Nobody could have predicted Von Millers injury, but he was purchased to cover up poor drafting results. Allen’s prime is being wasted and after getting a fat contract even Josh has stopped working as hard as possible to be the the best. This doesn’t even mention McClappies and Dorsey’s shortcomings. The extension of been and McDermott were seriously a mistake at this point.

Dumb as a rock, we couldn’t afford his contract. But he still should have been replaced. -

Letting Edmunds go wasn’t the problem. Being so arrogant and ignorant of what talent they had to replace him was. Not making a move to replace was/is the issue. And it looks to be a costly one. -

Yes just pre season but nothing impressive from the O-line or the OC. Pretty pathetic performance. If this is truly how good this o line is going to be the Jets are going to feast. -

When the team looks bad, they always look really very bad. Like unprepared bad. That’s a reflection on the coaching staff. -

So the same can be said about the opposite, use whatever brain was given to you. It may not be much, but it it should lead you to understanding that.
