a special movie for me Mr. Otoole worked in was Good Bye Mr. Chips , it was up for a number of Oscars, in a year that featured, the prime of Miss Jean Brody, Midnight Cowboy. Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid , Easy Rider, Bob , Ted , Carol and Alice, it a special year, impactful in terms of the art /craft of movie making , going places not gone before. Good Bye, simply a lovely movie of a proper man finding love.

Anyone else feeling like they just don't care?
millbank replied to xsoldier54's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
How long it has been real hope of this team being a playoff contender. Each year does begin with measured hope, wanting to see what new additions to team can bring as season dwindles down for far to long just more of the same. Yes it has made me apathetic, yes I find other things to do , where previously it would be unthought of to miss a game , but I do care very much it extremely disappointing. -

I love it a special time of being with family and friends. i hate that in populous world we live there are so many lonely, who find this special time of year the most lonely and sad time of year. The images of a Christmas tree with many presents underneath and a dinner table for a friends and family for many simply marketing dream, the reality is being alone amongst so many. For many this a sad and lonely most acute time of year.

Dear Mr. Brandon--the Toronto series must go
millbank replied to dezertbill's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
can remember Mr. Wilson and Mr. Rogers at press conference announcing the Bills in Toronto series, both chortling away at how Toronto people would and will spend huge sums of monies to attend these games. It was a outrage and insult to peoples on both sides of the Border, to those who have been loyal to team for many years, them losing a precious home date to gather with friends ect, a outrage at the disrespect of a obvious cash grab from the peoples of Toronto. Does get down to though just have important to Buffalo and those who follow the team in Buffalo, how important is the monies earned in keeping Bills in Buffalo. Would locals rather sink or swim on the monies earned locally, would you except a across the board ticket raise that would put Bills in middle of ticket pricing base. Would you be on side with going out and making sure stadium is sold out with a season ticket waiting list as many in NFL are. No doubt in the end somebody , somewhere is going to need come up with plan to show how Bills can earn a comparable amount of money as elsewhere, as much as team loved and the import great to Buffalo, in the end it is about making money to owners, given the option to make appreciably more elsewhere it a unfortunate reality they will move elsewhere at earliest opportunity. Toronto will root for a Toronto team, hardly are they going to come out on mass paying large ticket prices to support another cities team anymore than if Buffalo area people each year had a few Jays games to attend at the double the cost because Toronto needed the money to keep Blue Jays. Concept is outrageous... They are the Buffalo Bills and never will be a Buffalo/Toronto Bills. imo -
Here is the BOTTOM LINE for a NFL team in Canada....
millbank replied to mellaman101's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
There cannot be any argument are a cash grab for organization. It flat out shameful each year the same nonsense of speculation of Bills moving to Toronto ect. , it disrespectful to a very much still alive Mr. Wilson, it disrespectful to Buffalo and Western New York , while I believe Toronto can and will have and support a NFL franchise, any talk of it being the Buffalo Bills shameful . Of course this sham should be ended as it never should have started.. -
Grading the new front office thus far
millbank replied to BuffaloBillsForever's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I agree with this, I in terms of grade c+ , I do not see this team as the same old Bills, I see a group given the rest of division , it not unrealistic to expect a playoff team next season. Many of the loses have been tough , maddening , this season, but my expectations were not of a winner this year. I am pleased with management this year, but expect much more of them this off season. -
no doubt yesterday another maddening disappointing result to add to a long, long list of many before it. Having said that I am convinced this a much different team , coaching staff , this season has seen much improvement in many area's , the defense, at very worse average to good and with this years experience and a addition or two next season they very well be very good. The wins were not there this season, but they competed every game, were in almost all of them, so many disappointingly so close , they easily could have had five more wins a be a playoff team. Call me nuts, crazy deluded , whatever, but I think this team has turned the corner and next season this team going to cause a great deal of excitement around here. ( will look for this post same time next year and be held accountable ) This not a bad team, they a not great , but decent team that got some bad results. These not the same old Bills , they getting better. Fumbles just can't happen and the referee calls one just has to wonder about .

Here is the BOTTOM LINE for a NFL team in Canada....
millbank replied to mellaman101's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
just reverse , suppose the Toronto Blues Jays needed money to survive and the powers that be decided that Buffalo and Western New York would be a good mark to get needed money to sustain Toronto franchise, I am thinking most Buffalo people would hardly be lining up to purchase tickets. How Toronto has supported this money grab hardly any barometer as to how they would support a NFL tea. Fact is Leafs are the richest team in NHL and a poor on ice product at that, Jays and Raptors, both if you look at attendance records over the years both are right in middle of league in terms of average attendance, both Raptors and Jays on field success towards bottom. Truth is Toronto being a major business center has enough coporated monies to support any team in any league. LIke anywhere else when these teams competitive or winners they sell out with waiting lists. -

was a interesting site seeing parking lot full of patrons. Stratford fought a long fight to keep Walmart out of Stratford., Compay took city to Ontario Municipal board and eventually won out. It was said Walmart not wanted in Stratford, but crowded parking lots showed otherwise. I love the community and city where I live , it tragic in my opinion the goings on of yesterday, hardly does it enhance the sensibilities of my community. -

Stratford Ontario Walmart opened its doors for first time this past Friday with Black Friday sales. What was seen was fist fighting for available remaining Televisions on sale. Hand to hand combat.... Simply it was flat out madness. -
John Bongiovi interested in buying the Bills
millbank replied to Doc's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
For clarification, Bell and Rogers jointly own controlling shares in Maple Leaf Sports and Entertainment, thus MLSE is not independent of Rogers , it part of their holdings. It in my opinion whatever their intent that they out of respect to Mr. Wilson keep whatever plans they may have in the boardroom and not out for public gossip. Can only hope if Toronto were to get a team and got think given the monies available to them they will at some point, but it not come at the expense of Buffalo. These stories seem to come and go, got to wonder why this one now. -
