Give me your thoughts on this Power ranking on the Bills
millbank replied to HOUSE's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Suppose such ranking can be a boost to being optimistic to teams prospects if supposed expert/experts rank them favorably , but really take little stock in what they are saying. Given training camp has just started , so much to find out about new additions as to how they will impact team, how much veterans returning have healed from injuries and learned from last seasons experience. Perhaps by game four of season we will know better as to where this team is in terms of actually competing and having a shot of being playoff team we would like them all to be. Nice to get the accolades of others maddening when they don't get their due, but in the end if they have more points at the final gun, we can always point to the scoreboard. Hoping we will be able to do this more times than not this season and then the rest will take care of itself. Kind of think the media will be onside of a rebirth of winning football in Buffalo , but more importantly so will we. -
talk about being emphatic.... must be the tough ninth inning....

Have to ask as to where did the idea of wearing the ties come from . Was it a request by his family , wife. Did he request this in his will or verbally at some point as his personal wish , this either known by all in office or now being conveyed by family? I would seem reasonable to be clear on this before moving forward. Certainly if it be either his or family request it would be very small of anyone to place themselve and their own bias ahead of such a request to wear the ties. It it be a personal show of support , let those who wish to do so be free to do so, this in these terms be very much a personal decision that frankly be no ones elses business and does not deserve any recrimination by anyone else.... imo:)

potato weighing machine Ten pound bags of potatoes do not weigh ten pounds, but are produced by a machine that attempts to produce a ten pound average weight. In an effort to see if the machine is properly set up, the foreman at the potato bagging plant weighs 16 bags of potatoes produced by the machine. Here are the results: 10.07 10.35 10.05 9.98 10.27 10.46 9.95 10.44 10.08 9.90 10.10 10.18 10.39 9.96 10.19 10.47 From past experience it is known that the machine produces bags whose weights are approximately normally distributed and have a standard deviation of around 1/4 of a pound. -

- my apologies to yourself and others for my redundant thread, in sincerity simply wished to facilitate a means by which a voice of appreciation could be extended to all those who do the work of keeping site running. Generally agree regarding early days of D&C, the inception of wall , the difference that universal access to internet has made to such forums. It a broad area of discussion the positives and negatives as to the effect that internet and universal access for all as to how it has effected us as a people and culture. I also remember the beginnings, frankly what i see apart from the newness and mystique of a technology, there are more of both redundant and profound, given i one who was around from the beginnings as well it likely testimony to the fact the redundant not exclusive to the present but was in evidence from day one. -

What was the Scariest , Frightening Moment in Life
millbank replied to millbank's topic in Off the Wall Archives
regarding third world countries. Have done mission work in India, Guatemala. In Guatemala, been robbed at gunpoint a number of times, it a fact of life. In various regions, Guerrilla's rule with tight fist, they often coming to mission compound in show of power to residents and peoples they in control Over the years a number of our people have been shot , killed , the sounds of gunfire, daily, nightly occurrence. -
Can you remember the most frightened you have ever been. Your scariest personal moment where your life appeared in jeopardy. What was the situation and what was your reaction, and does it still effect you today to some extent? In Toronto Monday evening, Scarboro more accurately a area community had a summer gathering block party where roughly about 300 people attended, apparently many coming from far outside region lured by the promise of free rum (yikes ). What transpired was a gunfire broke out between party goers said to be waring gangs, the result being some thirty people shot and injured, with party goers reaction in fear, running for cover as best as they possibly could. Can only imagine being in such a situation, the terror of seeing people go down around me, having to make quick decision on how to not get killed. Recall as young man, at dance, with young lady, lights out, slow dance, full dance floor, setting peaceful, me out of the corner see a man approach couple right beside us, pull a gun and shoot the man beside us. First reaction was , to look at fallen man, perpetrator running away, overwhelmed with a sense of unrealness, we quickly moved outside the immediate scene , not looking back, without a word found the car and got out of area. Can remember doing this without a word, simply being in shock at being so close to such a incident. Over lifetime have experienced many scary moments, but this only time of being near gunfire. I not entirely proud of self , my reaction of first impulse of getting out of area, but in ways it was right to see to it Young Lady with me be safe. It interesting what our reaction be when in a time of fear or strife around us. The example of 9/11 where some ran away from sight , seeking escape, while others ran towards the site asking where can they help in selfless manner a great example of choices people make. so..... can you remember the moment in your life , incident where your life was in peril, your most frightening moment, what it was, your reaction to it, and how it has effected you? For me end result in very simple terms, I much more weary as I go about day to day, not overwhelmed in fear but ever aware of my surroundings , often not in ease in crowded settings of many people.

MDP dating advice thread...
millbank replied to MARCELL DAREUS POWER's topic in Off the Wall Archives
It certainly can be intimidating, fear of rejection, embarrassment, hurt feelings ect, but rather then sit and wonder, call and ask if she would like to go on a outing with you. In the end is either yes or no, sitting pondering what others may or not be thinking can do far more harm to relationships as we ruminate and imagine often more than there is. You need , take a deep breath , have courage and find out what she is thinking, it on you to call and find out. -
MDP dating advice thread...
millbank replied to MARCELL DAREUS POWER's topic in Off the Wall Archives
Think we all make process much to complicated. Do think that people will make themselves available to us if they be interested in a relationship. Nothing like taking a deep breath, taking the risk of calling and having a conversation, in the end stating that you had a nice evening and would like to to have her company again. The longer you wait the greater the task seems, and the build up of emotion can make the disappointment that much greater. -

Likely a number of candidates. Think generally games are analyzed by many sources and will be done so through game weeks. What I want to see in highlights are what happened that given gameweek from game to game, and providing person does not interfere with the highlights themselves, like the idea of the commentator doing it with some humor. Would not mind the notion of a guest commentator from entertainment/sports doing it. People who are clearly fans, but outside of the football industry, musicians, entertainers, other professional sports athletes, politicians even. Kind of like guest host on Saturday night live. Have some fun with it but in the end we see what happened in that particular week, with perhaps a unique take on it...

Can Fitzpatrick be an upper echelon QB?
millbank replied to Billsrhody's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
in order for Fitz to be considered top echelon he need come up big at the needed time as the top echelon quarterbacks have.....school is out on this and only when they come to these points will we know. Average middle of the pack come close or fail, the tops ones succeed and make playoffs and go further. -

Have no doubt Fitz working in a team oriented system be a effective quarterback. Eli Manning a most excellent example of how player playing within his means and system can be excellent. What is the difference maker will be can Fitz as Manning has done, come up big more often than not at significant moments in games, the big play. Its a team game , but at times individuals have to step up and be difference makers. School is out, at present, no doubt with Fitz running system they can be a mediocre team, the proof in the pudding will be if the light goes on, in the big moments. Winning teams do more often than not, scuffling middle of the pack so close yet so far don't. imo:)
