  1. think Tim Graham comments fair enough. Think generally speaking supporters of team are pleased with general direction of team and optimistic , but this tempered by the sobering realities of past failures. Fans will be excited when they actually make playoffs .
  2. Hoping it be understood some of my sentiments intentions were to encourage those who do not post as they once did for various reasons reflect on them, all concerned let the past ill will, misunderstandings , contentions, go, lay them down as many folk are missed. From notable ones such as Lori, journalist Graham, to Stuck, older back in the day posters Mark and Lamb ect. I understand in no way it be my place to be making comment on the running or operation of site, those that have privilege to do so entirely at Scott's discretion. It my concern the impact of misunderstandings ect. Site clearly frequented by many peoples . In my coming and going the work I do I have came to the recognition that it very well possible that a person being alone, the disease or scourge of people being alone, loneliness may very well be the greatest and cureable disease present today. We a people who have learned much , designed much new impressive technology, we still as populous as we are have far to many who live alone, from our elderly, disabled, the disadvantaged. I have at times concern for those who are no longer here, life as we have each seen in our own personal experiences can be fragile. Might each and everyone of us, remember in what we say and post, it be opportunity to either tare down or build up, each of us can make a real difference in a persons life. I to old to posture being a tough guy or whatever, might I suggest the greatest cure to much of what ails us is that "we love each other", -wanted just once to say that:blush:
  3. threads and memories to never be forgotten, just so very precious....
  4. Such a diverse people have came and posted this forum daily and i also miss very much a number of people . Have thought that in some cases they still present but have changed their screen names, some visit but now just lurk, and as you stated people do move on with life , have responsibilities, change that is simply the normal course of life. But I also believe there be a number who because of misunderstandings, contentions, perhaps at times some hurtful comments and such we all miss out in mutually sharing with many outstanding excellent people. I have thought would it not be in place that we as a group , as people, given life is far to short to carry around baggage of bad feeling ill will, misunderstandings and contentions, a Amnesty period where ll concerned may have opportunity to lay down the past, for those who wish to make their apologies like adult men and ladies do so and move forward anew. I also miss Stuck, and others , often am concerned where many fine people are , In the end I would like to think we a group of people who are welcoming, having desire to lift each other. I do ask that we give some thought each of us the notion that we far to often carry things best laid down and simply do better to focus on the what is good, and do what we can to build each other, not a single one of us needs the angst and negative in our lives. I do ask with respect that we do take time , to ponder, to lay down the past , a number of fine people are missed very much by all, this poster asks that you do consider returning that we simply forgive and forget and begin anew.
  5. thats it ,,, dam it,, get your shirt off and your dukes up
  6. With respect I ask if it be possible that we each take time to pause and ponder , give thanks to those who make this site available to us and are responsible for its workings. For many "The Wall" has become a at least daily visit , if not hourly . We gain information, a great deal of fun and humor, the blessing of gaining special acquaintances and friendships from literally all over the world. Would it be possible to tell how is the Wall important to you? What do you appreciate most about Wall? , I came here at the beginnings, a nervous, apprehensive person as internet technology and such a thing as a forum a entirely new and frankly scary venture. Over time I have gained the blessing of having exchange with a great number of most excellent people , folks to me now very much so friends. Life has its bumpy times , its difficulties , this forum for me a respite from that. So much personally I have gained from this privilege, what I appreciate most is the sense of connection, of community, with a group of people with a dream of a community doing better, of having success, and two teams each having their special season at top of their respective sports of football and hockey. I do at times close my eyes and remember when, Paul and Kelly were here, both gone but not forgotten. I remember also those not allowed anymore, Spiked, Ice, a few others, with no disrespect intended I count them friends also. As I ponder , at times it seems to me, much time is taken to say and do many things , we do not take time to simply say Thank You,. Could type a long post full of my unimportant thoughts, so much I would like to say in appreciation, but my wish more so to read and hear what others have to say, for me I wish to say sincerely simply, My apologies to any I may have offended, my desire is to do better Thank you So how is this place special to you?
  7. Tiny Tim...... Tip Toe Through The Tulips ..........
  8. the greatest tragedy of these is that with the real events not being known by all, we as a people are not able to learn lessons from them in terms of societal issues, makes changes and improvements that we be a better people. We as nation robbed in this way. It all well and wonderful to obsess about the villains, it be a obvious essential they do be identified, but of greater value, it resolved as to how they came to be in the first place. The making and finding of villains, beating on them in some fashion as old as the hills and a device of those not wishing or having the courage or where with all to be circumspect and do better. imo
  9. so far so good , bands and their signature song deciding which band or person is significant enough to think of terms of having a signature song, likely a generational thing, i being in my seventies, think back to the forties and to bring up some names and song, some of you in your late teens or twenties would be looking at and pondering who on earth are they, the same as i not so aware of many current bands in the 2000's. Thread shows to some extent, relative posters thoughts on what bands , people and what they sang as being of import. Suppose a list for instance could be made of each decade from the fifties on as the signature band and individual and their signature song. Back in the the big band era, Benny Goodman, comes to mind, then Frank Sinatra , on to Elvisi, perhaps for a while the Beach, Boy, they over whelmed by the english envasion and the Beatles, to hippie generation and jefferson, airplane and so on. Again opinions going to differ , it all fair, we all have our opinions, but eventually a consensus does emerge with more the same names and songs.... Thinking about Elvis, his first appearance on Ed Sullivan 1956 Charles Laughton introduced Elvis not Ed. , many had never seen such a person, he sang Don't Be Cruel and the Love me tender... for many this the first introduction to him these would be his signature, just as the Beatles, on Ed Sullivan first most of America had seem them sang All My Loving, the first of five songs, the last that night was I want to hold your hand. Many who seen this because of the huge impact of seeing these guys, hearing all the screaming young ladies and Ed telling the audience to cool it or he would send the Beatles to get their hair cut, one of these would be Beatles signature song. In volume hard to argue though the others mentioned....
  10. When you think of a particular Band, Solo Artist each would have a signature song, or one you think of first when they are mentioned. For instance, the Beatles. Hey Jude? A Day in The Life? The Stones, Sympathy For The Devil? The Who Baba O'reilly? Frank Sinatra My Way? Name some bands, and what you think their signature song is... Pink Floyd for instance, I associated first Dark Side of Moon, may like other more so , but think Dark Side first when Pink Floyd mentioned. Jefferson Airplane, White Rabbit... Tragically Hip?
  11. she likely a very nice young lady... but think she may be related to the Hansen Brothers... likely puts on the foil and everything....
  12. so nice you posted your experience,,, so precious memories with family particularly children...it will endure forever .... really nice....
  13. i believe it likely vary from one area to another, jurisdiction, regarding amount of money found and what would be responsible legal course of action. Think in many cases a twenty, fifty ect police are going to tell you,,, good for you , stick it in your pocket. For higher amounts, it possible that organization, individual may vary well be able to identify lost location and sum of money and make reasonable claim to it. Suppose that would be the real character knowing call for a individual, if one was to find a large sum of money as to how they would handle such a issue. We all are aware of the right thing to do, but given the nature of life, the economic times we live, it can at times be easy enough to rationalize not necessarily correct responses or behaviors. At any rate got to think a larger sum of money handed into authorities in most places there be a time frame where it is kept where person may make claim to it. After such a date, the monies would go to finder. , For me, it was the introspective nature of this find and character challenge it brought on...
  14. During my daily walk the other day walking through Stratford, came upon an item looking down at road that appeared a interesting item, kind of fluttered a bit was a curiosity. On furthered inspection it appeared to be a twenty dollar bill. At this I quickly picked it up looked over at a lady in car waiting for traffic to clear, I showed bill as though to say... "what the hell", she laughed and said enjoy. My response to her was , hope this was not badly needed by person needing it. Got to admit first thought was , yikes is it real? yay me, found twenty. Then after this felt some guilt to ponder , if there be a person around who may have lost it, or should i put it in the good will or church collection box, after all my teaching tells me when we are blessed with good fortune it should be used to make others better, to not be selfish. Still sticking in my pocket ponder just putting in my personal pot, buying a few more groceries and forgetting the hand wringing. My question is when you have found money , what was your first thought? Is your first impulse , yay me, pizza/wings/ beer money!, do you quickly look around and put it in your pocket and get the heck out of area, do you immediately look around to see if anyone is in area who may have lost it? Got to admit for me felt a little bit chastened, and selfish that my initial thought was my good fortune.. How is it for you?
  15. when you mention the whiskey , i think of Jim Morrison and Doors......
  16. its so each of us have that magic like special place... so often watch and envy , it great to have just once even great seats.... place
  17. it nice to remember precious times and experiences. we need hold them close, they at times do sustain us.... what is best seat or vantage point, ect very much so a personal experience . It fun to close ones eyes and remember.
  18. to take time to pause, look around appreciate the privileges and opportunities we each have, being thankful for those who came before, and those who now and will in future stand to make Country one a place of hope and opportunity. Things can get tough at times, but there is beauty and good around us . Wish for all a excellent day , each with family , friends, activities of choice and need. The Blessing of another July 4.
  19. Fun to read others experiences, nothing like the sense of spectacle various events are be it sports, music, theater, speech. Back in the day, Toronto's Yorkville village circa mid 60'S coffee houses often were hosts to many impromptu jams, can recall being at places being just feet away, actually handing drinks over to musicians as they played. Bob Dylan, Hendrix, members of the Stones. Numerous ones. Funny how at the time it so normal and no big deal, looking back how cool it was. Got to be in room for 77 El Mocambo Stones, "Love You Live". None of these planned out , they just happenstance . It nice that even us not so rich or wealthy folk sometimes have opportunity and get place that is special. For some it very well be the norm, for us not so connected or privileged , special moments. Thinking on it, it does encourage me to remember to savor the experiences of each day, we just never do know....
  20. these precious times and moments of life... the do endure forever and keep us moving forward providing we look in the half full part of glass of life and not empty....
  21. has to have been a precious experience for you.... it clear best seats ever , a very personal one and subject to personal definition.
  22. really a cool feeling, getting a event ticket waiting for the day to attend, getting to facility , walking down the aisle, getting nearer and nearer to seats finding them , it just a cool feeling to once get that special place or seats ... for most of us it fortunate if it happens once in our lives... reality, just saving and getting tickets for events in the facility great in itself, let alone they be great... so interesting to hear of others experiences of special times remembered
  23. Often watch Sports events envying people sitting front row center , behind the umpire in baseball, or 50 yard line box football, Center Ice Hockey, Center stage theater or Rock concert, these tickets seemingly rather unavailable or if they are far out of my price range. I personally can count on my hand the occasions of getting great tickets. Can you remember what was the best seats you have ever had at a event , what were they and where? For me last year at Stratford Festival for play, "The Twelfth Night" , A+ front row center, . Sports tickets throughout the years more often than not feel lucky just to be there. How about you?
