One thing that I have noticed about McDermott is that he gets the most out of his players that he can. As a result of good teaching and fundamentals, McDermott has placed sometimes marginal players in a better position to succeed by utilizing their strengths and defining a role for them. Now in 2019, many of these players have matured even more. The Bills are becoming a good team, and good teams are the ones that can overcome scoring deficits and win the winnable games. In the first three games this year, the Bills are finding that out and winning games that they would normally lose. McDermott always has the team prepared and ready to play and it goes a long way in winning the close games. I don't know how I would label McDermott as a coach. Some say conservative, or are we mistaking that for being thorough.

I don't think Allen even knows what he is capable of yet. Each new game is a revelation for him.

Absolutely. The Bills can win a lot of games by just applying the principals you have outlined. Team work, staying focused, performing your role and playing 60 minutes.

Agreed. McDermott's teams are those kind of teams that won't go away when you are playing them. You have to beat them soundly in most facets of the game. This team is just getting started, and like I said this whole process is happening right now!

I agree. McDermott is building a great foundation that will get incrementally better with new talent. One more good draft, a few strategic fa signings, Josh Allens progress and this team should be fully realized.

The Bills also should not over analyze their approach to this game just because it is the Patriots. Just stick to their game plan and try to play as mistake free as possible. Show them that they belong on the field with them and believe it.

I like what Beane and McDermott are doing, and they are rebuilding the team much like Polian did in the 1980-90's. The Bills had Jim Kelly and of course the Bills have Josh Allen. What we are seeing here is a Bills team that is suddenly unfolding. Another poster said something to the effect that the Bills are going to be good...yet they already are. The Polian era Bills did the same thing.

Kelly probably sees alot of his younger self in Allen. Allen is not as cocky as Kelly was, but Kelly definately sees much more promise in Allen than Losman and Manuel. Allen probably isn't intimidated by Kelly, and Kelly probably respects him for it. Maybe they are two kindred spirits with a common goal...getting the Bills back to prominence.

I hope he stays healthy as well. Some of his health issues were beyond his control. Yeah, he is certainly a better rounded receiver than he was. I remember the Bills coachs commenting on him being more than a one dimensional receiver...he runs good routes...everything.

No...not at all. Allen is improving now. When the time is right. Is there ever a. right time. The Bills should be open to any advice ay this point. They have to demonstrate that they can beat the Patriots. You are a funny guy though.

I cannot think of a better person than Jim Kelly to help Josh Allen. Any camaraderie that Allen develops with Kelly will certainly help. Hey Jim, be sure to tell Allen about your first two seasons in Buffalo if you already haven't! And what would you do against the Pats!
