  1. There's also a cultural issue. There's always been a percentage of kids too cool for school, but that group seems to be larger now. Dangerous minds gave us insight into this 30 years ago. The parents in the community need to be the catalysts, so again it falls back into the laps of the parents. The kids with disabilities have special resources, and health-care(thanks libs) to help deal with their disabilities. Capitalism isn't going to be kind to them no matter what.
  2. Do you think workers are immune to the innate greed, that you're saying exists? When they do express it, the oligarchs have conditioned the not so smart workers to exclaim, COMMUNIST! When that method fails, they start a war.
  3. If a thread wasn't made in bad taste, it wouldn't be an NC thread.
  4. Sadly, wages were increasing with inflation, but that was short lived. It's almost like people held out as long as they could, and are now taking what they can get. The average worker, with a low income, has absolutely no power over any of his conditions. This is why THEIR government needs to step in. Unfortunately, the oligopoly has taken over their government, leaving them powerless.
  5. Trickle down isn't working. They've figured out how to stop the leaking. The only way to make trickle down work is unions, that force it to trickle. We had the wage and wealth gaps before the pandemic. Capitalism can only hide behind covid for so long. When profits start suffering, that's when I'll start worrying about the poor corporate oligarchs and their shareholders.
  6. Imagine being so dumb, that you think the government shouldn't be able to keep national security issues, such as nuke codes, off of social media. LOL Luckily even the conservatives on the court realize this. I'm actually surprised that a few dummies brought this issue to court, rather then let it play out for the dummies through Fox news instead.
  7. Stop asking why we have inflation, and start asking why wages aren't keeping up with it, while profits soar. Wealth gap anyone?
  8. I think you said you were in the same boat as me in that your vote is pretty much worthless, because you're not in a swing state, so AGAIN, don't blame me. At first I HATED Lutz for what he was doing to politics. I've since realized don't hate the player, but hate the game.
  9. Pretty sure I said from the get-go I thought he wasn't doing a good job?? My only point was he didn't invent the immigration problem, he just amplified it. It doesn't need to be standalone. Johnson is now looking at the aid package, and is just tweaking the language to be a loan for Ukraine. Why it's not a loan for Israel is beyond me, but he could have changed the language weeks ago and got this done already.
  10. You're just not smart enough to get it. I should have known. I remember the Jetsons, when we dreamed about robots making cars. Now you're arguing that we won't have jobs if machines make the cars. LOL
  11. Do you know who Frank Lutz is? This is nothing new at all. It's been going on for like 40+ years. Not only do they find their voters by what issues they present, but also the best way to present the issue to get the voters. Again, it seems you're blaming me for the reality of the situation.
  12. All the blame for the leftists, and none of the blame for the "profit" businesses who are making money hand over fist and could EASILY pay a minimum wage, which has been PROVEN to be possibly the greatest labor tool ever produced by man, aside from safety restrictions. Now go cry SOSHULIST! from the mountaintops, because that's EXACTLY what they want a good simp to do. You know who ends up paying for their under-paid drivers needs, while they live high on the hog? YOU, so you end up with socialism either way. If you want to know what the cherry on top is, they lobby your politicians for TONS of money: The General Services Administration, the procurement arm for the federal government, granted the five-year contract to Uber and Lyft, the companies confirmed. The contract is worth up to $810 million, though it’s unclear how much each company will receive.
  13. I think we're past discussing that Biden has done a lousy job, and are onto what can be done to fix it. Unless of course if you want to keep harping.
  14. True, but that's how politics works, and this is PPP.
  15. So how long do you expect tariffs to keep automation from happening? Do you realize horse ranchers probably were saying tariffs for automobiles at one point? How'd that work out? So not only will the consumer be paying more for "hand-made" cars, but also paying a tariff on it? You'd be a great businessman.
  16. Because he's stupid, too?
  17. Speaking of disingenuous, do you want Biden to capture and detain all of these immigrants, like Trump was somewhat trying to do? I'm no accountant, but that sounds expensive, and if they're fleeing a s-hole country, they probably would consider that treatment an upgrade, giving them even more reason to come. The only solution is comprehensive immigration reform. Almost sounds like you're mad they're "smartening up", and are happy the republicans have the issue to bring up.
  18. Are you saying Lyft should just be an after school job for kids? How exactly would a kid buy a vehicle and pay insurance and repairs on it making less than $15/hour? Uber and Lyft are trying to play cab company by deleting their overhead, plain and simple. Aug 4 (Reuters) - Ride-hailing firm Lyft Inc (LYFT.O), on Thursday forecast an adjusted operating profit of $1 billion for 2024 after reporting record earnings for the second quarter, betting on strength in the rideshare market as it rebounds from pandemic lows. Lyft's shares jumped more than 8% in extended trading, as the company also reported profit above Wall Street estimates on the back of soaring demand for rides and its cost-cutting efforts. Can't afford to pay the drivers, though. LOL
  19. Keep hanging on that all you want, but I explained why.
  20. Sure, a trade war would hurt China's economy more than ours, but that's asking the wrong question. The real question is, which populace is going to handle the economic fallout of a trade war. Authoritarian China, or the US who's already clamoring over inflation? The stupid tariffs should never been started, and Biden should have cancelled them. What we need to keep doing is investing in America internally, like Biden is already doing.
  21. Why weren't they doing it for the 30 years before trump then? You show the specific executive orders trump gave that was keeping millions of people from coming over, because his numbers weren't great, either. Obama's were better. Also, just because he wasn't catching as many doesn't mean they were deterred. If you mean him ending catch and release, many of these refugees would be glad to have US pay for their detention and care. We don't have the facilities for that, and it isn't saving any money. While the raw numbers are much higher under Biden — 5 million encounters compared with 1.4 million under Trump in those time frames — the percentages for the two administrations were similar: 47% removed under Trump and 51% under Biden. Bier’s estimates are for illegal immigration between ports of entry. (As our bar graph above shows, both administrations had removal rates above 50% when Title 42 was being used to expel people.) Total deportations by ICE hovered around 400,000 annually in each of the first four years of Obama's presidency. Interior deportations alone exceeded 150,000 annually from fiscal 2009 to 2012 – far greater than Trump's 81,603 during fiscal 2017. If you're just going to scream BIDEN BIDEN BIDEN on an extremely complex ongoing problem, then I don't think there's anything left to discuss. Who owned it before Biden?
  22. These guys are going to defend whatever the guy, who prefers his briefings in pictures, no matter what his position is. trump likely doesn't research anything. He just thinks of things his base would like him to say, and says it. CHINA TARIFFS!, and they cheer. Simple as that.
  23. It's also transparent that the republicans are loving how this makes Biden look, and are happy to keep it that way. Hardly anything has been done about immigration in 40 years, but this is now all of a sudden ALL Bidens fault. LOL. Obama tried to address the issue. As for crime, red states aren't much better if at all, but it's all blamed on 'democrat cities'(ala Fox news). Your last part is just mixing the first 2, and pretending it's ALL democrats fault again. You need to get off the red sideline, and start asking them what they're doing to make things better. Crying, "it's the democrat's fault" clearly isn't working.
  24. When was the last meaningful immigration bill passed? 1986? That's an awful lot of "culprits" over that time who really weren't much tougher on immigration than Biden is now. He may be doing a bad job, but this notion he invited it is absolute BS.
  25. Are their really people outside the MAGA 'if he says it, then it must be great' gang that believe that other countries would just say, aww shucks we have to pay a tariff now, and comply without retaliation? We get a RIDICULOUS amount of our goods from other countries. If you think inflation is bad, try on a trade war for size in the middle of it.
