Because he's stupid, too?

Speaking of disingenuous, do you want Biden to capture and detain all of these immigrants, like Trump was somewhat trying to do? I'm no accountant, but that sounds expensive, and if they're fleeing a s-hole country, they probably would consider that treatment an upgrade, giving them even more reason to come. The only solution is comprehensive immigration reform. Almost sounds like you're mad they're "smartening up", and are happy the republicans have the issue to bring up.

Are you saying Lyft should just be an after school job for kids? How exactly would a kid buy a vehicle and pay insurance and repairs on it making less than $15/hour? Uber and Lyft are trying to play cab company by deleting their overhead, plain and simple. Aug 4 (Reuters) - Ride-hailing firm Lyft Inc (LYFT.O), on Thursday forecast an adjusted operating profit of $1 billion for 2024 after reporting record earnings for the second quarter, betting on strength in the rideshare market as it rebounds from pandemic lows. Lyft's shares jumped more than 8% in extended trading, as the company also reported profit above Wall Street estimates on the back of soaring demand for rides and its cost-cutting efforts. Can't afford to pay the drivers, though. LOL

Sure, a trade war would hurt China's economy more than ours, but that's asking the wrong question. The real question is, which populace is going to handle the economic fallout of a trade war. Authoritarian China, or the US who's already clamoring over inflation? The stupid tariffs should never been started, and Biden should have cancelled them. What we need to keep doing is investing in America internally, like Biden is already doing.

Why weren't they doing it for the 30 years before trump then? You show the specific executive orders trump gave that was keeping millions of people from coming over, because his numbers weren't great, either. Obama's were better. Also, just because he wasn't catching as many doesn't mean they were deterred. If you mean him ending catch and release, many of these refugees would be glad to have US pay for their detention and care. We don't have the facilities for that, and it isn't saving any money. While the raw numbers are much higher under Biden — 5 million encounters compared with 1.4 million under Trump in those time frames — the percentages for the two administrations were similar: 47% removed under Trump and 51% under Biden. Bier’s estimates are for illegal immigration between ports of entry. (As our bar graph above shows, both administrations had removal rates above 50% when Title 42 was being used to expel people.) Total deportations by ICE hovered around 400,000 annually in each of the first four years of Obama's presidency. Interior deportations alone exceeded 150,000 annually from fiscal 2009 to 2012 – far greater than Trump's 81,603 during fiscal 2017. If you're just going to scream BIDEN BIDEN BIDEN on an extremely complex ongoing problem, then I don't think there's anything left to discuss. Who owned it before Biden?

These guys are going to defend whatever the guy, who prefers his briefings in pictures, no matter what his position is. trump likely doesn't research anything. He just thinks of things his base would like him to say, and says it. CHINA TARIFFS!, and they cheer. Simple as that.

It's also transparent that the republicans are loving how this makes Biden look, and are happy to keep it that way. Hardly anything has been done about immigration in 40 years, but this is now all of a sudden ALL Bidens fault. LOL. Obama tried to address the issue. As for crime, red states aren't much better if at all, but it's all blamed on 'democrat cities'(ala Fox news). Your last part is just mixing the first 2, and pretending it's ALL democrats fault again. You need to get off the red sideline, and start asking them what they're doing to make things better. Crying, "it's the democrat's fault" clearly isn't working.

Are their really people outside the MAGA 'if he says it, then it must be great' gang that believe that other countries would just say, aww shucks we have to pay a tariff now, and comply without retaliation? We get a RIDICULOUS amount of our goods from other countries. If you think inflation is bad, try on a trade war for size in the middle of it.

So you do know how politics works, and why passing bipartisan bills when you can is important. The current political culture changes VERY fast. Would you care to guess who said this: So this is not going to be a free ride. It's not going to be some instant amnesty. What's going to happen is you are going to pay a significant fine. You are going to learn English. You are going to -- you are going to go to the back of the line so that you don't get ahead of somebody who was in Mexico City applying legally. But after you've done these things over a certain period of time you can earn your citizenship, so that it's not -- it's not something that is guaranteed or automatic. You've got to earn it. But over time you give people an opportunity. Now, it only works though if you do all the pieces. I think the American people, they appreciate and believe in immigration. But they can't have a situation where you just have half a million people pouring over the border without any kind of mechanism to control it. So we've got to deal with that at the same time as we deal in a humane fashion with folks who are putting down roots here, have become our neighbors, have become our friends, they may have children who are U.S. citizens. That's the kind of comprehensive approach that we have to take. They key part is, "Now, it only works though if you do all the pieces". immigration is more complex than saying Biden can fix this if he wanted to.
-
Doing the right thing about crime and the border isn't smartening up? How is saying they weren't doing the right thing desperate to give them credit? My preferred side will always be doing the one that's doing what's best, whichever side that may be. Now hopefully the MAGA nutters going on about in vitro being a child will look at the polls and smarten up.

Except he did everything else, except the child tirade part, so we must strike and ignore all the rest of the facts, right? Mr. Engel was present when Ornato relayed what happened, and did not dispute the claim in private, but you go ahead and believe the guy who destroyed the evidence on the phones. It also said: “It is difficult to fully reconcile the accounts of several of the witnesses who provided information with what we heard from Engel and Ornato. But the principal factual point here is clear and undisputed: President Trump specifically and repeatedly requested to be taken to the Capitol. He was insistent and angry, and continued to push to travel to the Capitol even after returning to the White House.”

It's clearly worse, but it's always been an issue. My point was the republicans want it to be a bigger issue when it's time to get votes. Without that issue, they can't use it to appeal to voters. Kind of what's happening right now with trump shutting down the bill. As you've stated, they need 60 votes, but they could have forced democrats to vote on it. trump did manage remain in Mexico, but that didn't help illegal crossings. Like I keep saying over and over, when you get a bipartisan bill, you better take it while the getting is good.

People are moving away from religion, and marriage is probably more a tradition than a religious ceremony for many. If you don't get religion back, you likely don't get a huge bounce from marriage. If trump tweeted about marriage, it would look like this: MARRIAGE IS A FAILING INSTITUTION!!!. Surprisingly, there was a small bump in marriages post covid. Some people must have said to themselves, if we can live together stuck in this house, I guess we can get married.

From your own article: Young men are slightly more likely to identify as conservative (29%) than liberal (25%), with moderate (44%) as the largest share — numbers which have remained remarkably steady over the last 25 years. It's a slight edge there, but I'd bet there's an entire demographic that isn't considered in that poll, and that's youth who aren't political from inner cities. If there was the so-called civil war, I doubt men would be leaving their liberal girlfriends to go fight for trump. He's got the bikers for trump and proud boys. BLM and antifa would stomp them, imho. Anyways, this is all a stupid hypothetical about his so called bloodbath comment taken out of context.

Ain't NEVER gonna happen Donny, no matter how many of our autocratic enemies you invite to the White House. Wondering if the heil Hitler salute was a freudian slip? Guess the rallies are gonna have to do. This guy is a lunatic, albeit a stable genius one. Now I'm curious how many of our enemies who've threatened us with nuclear destruction, were hanging up in the White House? Has to be more than just Putin and Kim, right?

Is there something wrong with me clarifying the difference between statistics and my opinion? SC offered his feeling and opinions with no data to back them up. If that's ragging to you, then maybe you're the one that needs to find some strength. Just so we're clear, I'll spend my time doing what I want when I want, but I appreciate your concerns. If you'd like to actually debate, like we're here to do, I'll explain why I believe what I believe, and it's because I think Biden's economy hasn't been good for young people. See how this works, It's not all about being snidely/snarky and protecting/defending hypocrites.
