  1. We couldn’t cover Hill. That’s what I’m talking about. And if they get another top receiver that we can’t guard then it’s rinse and repeat. Not sure why you can’t understand that. I never said we don’t draft good corners. My point is that I’ll take great offense over great defense any day. The Chiefs have proven that model works.
  2. Right. And we will take a corner that won’t be able to cover him. Rinse. Repeat…
  3. It is true. People were floored when the chiefs took Mahomes. Almost everyone thought they were coming up to get Watson. Yeah it really sucks that we went back 17 spots and got Tre White AND ammo to get Josh Allen…
  4. Mahomes was considered a reach at 10 at the time.
  5. I don’t want a first round corner, but I agree with both of these guys that you have. So the only way to get a good corner is to take one in the first? Sorry…don’t agree. McD develops DBs better than anyone in the league and you can get Taylor-Britt, Castro-Fields, Woolen, or maybe even Mccreary later and they would still be immediate upgrades at CB2.
  6. He drafted projects last year. I thought the same thing then, that it was dumb to be this close and not take someone that could help now. I could totally see him drafting someone like Williams.
  7. You had me at WR in round 1. Gotta get younger and cheaper there. Also be nice to have someone on more than a one or two year deal. And you want to draft a guy that also has not proven that they can cover nfl receivers? It’s a one year deal man. Good grief. You guys act like crowder will be around very long.
  8. He’s the same age as von Miller…the same von Miller we just signed to a long deal. If we aren’t worried about Miller at that age, then why should we be worried about Haden at the same age?
  9. Looking at this list, it’s interesting that every one of the wide receivers on this list is viewed as a first round pick. Most of the corners are too, but I’ve also seen kyler Gordon and mccreary as second rounders. I’m fact, mccreary just dropped out of Daniel Jeremiah’s top 50 prospects after the combine. Thompson is a mid round projection. If this list is true and it’s not a guard, then I expect it to be WR. There aren’t any prospects that will probably be around after the first. Plus, McD is a wizard at developing DBs, so guys like Gordon, mccreary, or Thompson make sense later on. Would much rather have Dotson than olave. Dotson has better hands and isn’t afraid of traffic.
  10. In all seriousness…start listening to the rumors and what Beane is saying. And then go the total opposite dissection. Last year, so many were convinced we were taking Travis ettienne. Now, he wasn’t available, but word is he wanted Rousseau all along anyways.
  11. So when did Brandon Beane start drafting for need in the first? It’s so funny that most of you are so confident it will be a corner. Beane has never been transparent about anything. Taking the fifth corner off the board just because you need one is a bad use of a premium resource. And mccreary is 5’11”, not 6’2”. He also has sub 30” arms. His best trait is his tackling, but those arms worry me. Don’t want him at all.
  12. I don’t think they will be in trouble at all. Just because a corner goes in the first doesn’t make him a scheme fit. McD is the best coach in the league at developing corners and he knows what type he likes. All the first round guys won’t necessarily fit that mold. That’s why I really think gardner, McDuffie, and Stingley could be the types of guys he prefers. Guys with loose hips and elite traits. These also happen to be guys that will likely be long gone.
  13. This. I think the fact that Beane made the effort to bring mckissic here shows he wants that type of player on the team. If we go into the draft without signing someone else, it’s very much on the table at some point.
  14. This is what I’ve been saying. You don’t take a corner in round one just to take one. It would depend on fit.
  15. Don’t just concern yourself with his Buffalo tenure. He had several late rounders ball out for him Carolina…especially Josh Norman.
  16. My thoughts 100%. We needed a qb for over 20 years and tried to patch that together and make it work with no success. We continually threw crappy resources at that position and all people wanted was defense. We did take a shot at Losman but that was desperation after we didn’t get Ben. And we all know the Manuel thing didn’t work. Other than that, it was retread vets and mid rounders. But…at least we had our defense. Haha. Listen…I realize the need is there for a corner. I’ve also taken the stance that McD is ELITE at getting something special out of every DB he’s ever coached. Anyone think Wallace or Jackson would be where they are at this point without McD? Get a third rounder like Cam Taylor-Britt and he could be a stud in this defense. Resume doesn’t matter when projecting NFL success. While you’re at it…put mayfield’s resume up against Allen’s.
  17. But we HAVE TO take a first round corner…🙄
  18. Great point. I think what is interesting is Beane saw an obvious need and tried to fill it with mckissic. Since he bailed, there hasn’t been an answer to that void yet. Beane very well could try to fill it in the draft. Someone like Hall is worth keeping an eye on.
  19. These are my thoughts too. I’m basing a lot off of how many corners I think will be gone by 25. We shouldn’t take a corner just because we need one. It has to be the right player with the correct skill set and I’m sure Beane understands that.
  20. Elam is interesting and I think he gets lost in the shuffle with the guys at the top. He’s definitely interesting and I’d take him over mccreary or Gordon.
  21. Which is my argument for WR. Show me where on this roster that we have talent on offense that is locked in for cheap? Maybe Brown? Doyle? Diggs will get extended. McKenzie is only on a 2 year deal. Davis might prove himself out of a second contract here if he continues to develop. We can’t back ourselves into a corner in a year or two at WR. We should take one in 1 this year and have him cheap for 5’yeara with a couple years to develop and learn behind our existing Corp.
  22. IMO McDuffie will be LONG gone. And he’s pretty much the only corner I’d be ok with there. Don’t want mccreary or Gordon at all. Booth would be ok I guess. Give me: WR in 1 Guard in 2 Corner in 3 Mcd and his staff is awesome at developing DBs and someone like Cam Taylor-Britt would be really good value in 3.
  23. I agree with the TE and Hall. However, I’m not sure we go DE in any way shape or form after the Miller signing. Not early on anyways. Which is exactly why I say it won’t be corner. There may already be 4 or 5 off the board before we pick. Beane isn’t taking a corner because of need. Not all players are created the same just because they play the same position. It has the be a good fit.
  24. WR. This team’s identity is the passing game. Diggs and Davis…then who else? I don’t think mckenzies signing keeps them from still needing another top WR to take this thing to the next level. We are still missing the speed element long term. If we draft WR in 1, then we are planning ahead a couple years from now when Davis might command big money and McKenzie’s contract has expired. Honestly, Beane could pull a fast one and take Breece Hall at 25. He is obviously looking for dynamic back that can catch and create out of the backfield.
  25. Then you are 100% correct. He would have went way earlier.
