  1. Also brings you Travis Kelce, George Kittle, Jimmy Graham, Darren Waller, Antonio Gates (undrafted), Dallas Goedirt... Just because WE haven't hit on a mid-rd TE, doesn't mean it doesn't happen...
  2. While I would LOVE PP, Brown's tweet is misleading, relative to the title of this post. He's simply narrowing down Peterson's teams and saying that Buffalo, by virtue of being a playoff team is on the list of *possible* teams for Peterson. Nothing saying we're ACTUALLY connected to him.
  3. No thanks. If he was going to be a thing, it would've happened by now.
  4. Count me among what appears to be the minority in not being interested in Hunter if it's going to cost our 1st rd pick. 2 or 3? Sure, let's do it, but a 1 is too rich in my book...
  5. Not interested for the $ he'll get, low ROI candidate IMO
  6. Yep, a 1-year deal is not a big investment. If he hits in that system/with that staff you can lock him up and you've found a piece. If he doesn't, you can move on. He's got plenty of athletic potential to make it work out...
  7. I don't feel like Mukuamu's getting talked about enough and Trill and Joseph both feel like their best FB is still ahead of them. I personally think Wade is a pretty decent fit @ corner for us too...
  8. So a guy leaves the most explosive offense in NFL history, joins a MUCH more conservative offense splitting time with the most talented RB in the NFL and the change of his averages is a reflection on ONLY his talent alone? This seems more than a little short sided.
  9. Worth mentioning with the Roberts news, Hunt is/was no slouch returning kicks. Not that I think that's how we'd use him, I think he'd become the defacto bellcow RB with Moss maybe getting 8-10 touches, but worth noting... Still doubting this happens.
  10. If the 2's in play, I think we also look at swapping picks in the first. Not trying to get greedy, but that feels like solid value for all... Browns move back 4 spots in the 1st, move a disgruntled TE and get value for their backup RB. Bills move up in the first, address 2 positional needs while taking on some risk... EDIT: it's not a massive jump up, but I think 26 puts both Phillips and Ossai in play, and those two have GOT to be priorities for us...
  11. We've been connected to both of them in the past and our FO is friendly with Schneider in Seattle, so certainly not impossible...
  12. When I say game-changing, I'm talking like Devin Hester -- can score anytime he touches the ball game changing. No question Roberts gave us good FP a lot and was certainly reliable and trustworthy back there, but he's far from the only one who can offer that sort of safety net.
  13. Hadn't seen this posted anywhere. At the right price I'd love Dunlop and Rhodes.
  14. KR shouldn't be too hard to upgrade, he was good for us but I'm not sure he was game-changing good. Rather the dollars and attention be spread elsewhere.
  15. Don't see either of the Washington guys being there where they're drafted -- Tryon early/mid 2nd and Taylor mid/late 2nd.
  16. Agree with a lot of this, but Beane has said time and again that he'll identify his guy and go get him. Ossai or Phillips might not last all the way until 30, but I think either could very feasibly fall into the mid 20s, in which case a trade up wouldn't be prohibitively expensive...
  17. Sure. But, 1. That's why he signed first. 2. That's why he'll get at least a little more money. 3. You're not paying Jonnu $50M to block. This is a copycat league and teams will pay for the next Waller/Kelce/Kittle chess piece. You know who's a great blocker as a TE? Lee Smith. You know who's not getting a 4 year/$50M contract? Lee Smith. I agree. That's why I've been saying Rudolph makes the most sense in my mind...
  18. Guessing Everett is out of our price range too. Whether you think Jonnu's contract was a good deal or too much, he's getting it because of his athletic ability -- Everett will be very much the same.
  19. Don't pay attention to the numbers, he's the 1b. to the most talented RB in the league, he was never going to have dominant numbers.
  20. Having met Kim and spoken with her a number of times, I can only add this, she's an exceedingly talented businesswoman and a smart, caring and compassionate person. If this went down, I feel pretty comfortable saying all of the following will have happened: 1. The value would be too good to pass up 2. Hunt and his actions since the incident will have been thoroughly vetted 3. The Pegulas are friends with the Hunts and the Haslams (KC & CLE ownership), they'll likely have received very solid vouching for his character and actions since, as well. 4. A very thorough discussion internally, as to the merits of bringing someone like Hunt back for a second chance will have occurred. 5. The coaching staff is 100% on board with his fit and the overall value. Count me as skeptical that we trade for Hunt, but if we do, I think I'll trust the above...
  21. Possible, yes and again -- I'd LOVE to see it. I just think the athletic TE is too big of a trend in the league right now for him to come to a team that has to do a whole bunch of cap karate to even get in the discussion, ya know? His agent's job is to get him top dollar, so he would have to really want to come to Buffalo, and I feel like we would've heard something about that by now.
  22. Exactly. Jonnu Smith isn't negotiating with the Bills in a vacuum here (if he's negotiating with them at all). The market will dictate his price and terms of his contract, having the ability to craft a contract in a way that's beneficial to our cap situation and doing so with Smith onboard and excited about that proposition are 2 completely different things. This is Madden thinking and not the reality of how free agency works.
