  1. Short excerpt from the article: he NFL is expanding its international reach and is planning to play a regular season game in Spain. Two sources with knowledge of the plans have said that a game in Madrid is all but locked in for 2024. This will expand upon the current slate of international games, with three in London and two in Frankfurt this year. Germany will host games in Munich, as it did last season, in addition to Frankfurt. Games in Mexico City have been put on hold while Estadio Azteca is renovated for the upcoming FIFA World Cup. [...] Two venues are under consideration: Estadio Metropolitano, home stadium of Atlético Madrid, with a capacity of 70,460 and a natural grass field; and Estadio Santiago Bernabéu, home of Real Madrid, with a capacity of 83,168 and a hybrid grass field reinforced with synthetic fibers. The latter has a new feature (see the video below) that allows sections of the field to retract below pitch level for maintenance and improved growth environment. Sources have said that the NFL UK offices have been actively scouting the sites in Madrid before a final decision."
  2. 1. I actually was excepting Wison to do something against us, given his performance vs. us last year with an inferior offense. 2. Bills shooting themselves in the foot sounds familiar, unfortunately. Haha...love it! You're right...take the penalty. I'm just saying with the Bills luck, the Jests probably convert the 3rd and 23.
  3. You're both probably right, but: 1. KC was very unlikely to score to tie the game with 13 seconds left in the 2021 playoffs vs. Buffalo 2. Arizona was very unlikely to score with 11 seconds left against Buffalo, down 30-26 in the 2021 regular season. 3. Minnesota was very unlikely to convert on 4th and 18 against Buffalo last year We all know what happened.

  5. [Mods: feel free to merge or delete. I searched...there were recent mentions of Michael Irvin, but not related to his legal problems. ] Well, in news we all (apparently?) missed, Michael Irvin was reinstated to NFL Network after he settled the lawsuit: From the article: "Hall of Fame receiver Michael Irvin’s extended suspension from NFL Network ended abruptly on Sunday, amid news that he had settled his lawsuit against Marriott. [....] Irvin was removed from NFL Network after a Marriott employee complained about his behavior during Super Bowl week. Jones could have ended the exile sooner, if he wanted. He has the power to influence such matters, clearly. But the timing of the events suggests that Irvin’s prolonged absence was never about any alleged misconduct. It was about the lawsuit, and the possibility that the NFL would be drawn into it. Even if Irvin didn’t sue the league and/or if Marriott didn’t add the league as a third-party defendant, it was clear that the NFL would be expected to produce documents and provide witnesses to discuss its handling of the situation. Marriott’s front-line defense was that, in communicating a hotel worker’s complaints to the league, Marriott was doing only what the league had expressly directed it to do. Inevitably, the league would have been involved, if the case had proceeded. And the various emails, text messages, and other communications could have put the operation in a negative light. So the case settled, Irvin returned to NFL Network, and there are no coincidences."
  6. Positive: Allen is in the top 10 for NFL passing yards after Week 1: But Tua, damn. Needs to change soon.
  7. More info on our rookie Side Judge Frank Steratore, Jr.: He is the cousin of Gene and Tony Steratore (both NFL officials) who are the co-owners of Steratore Sanitary Supply. Frank is in sales there. http://www.steratoresanitary.com/about-us.html He was an official in the USFL for four years and also in the Big 10. He has been in the NFL's Mackie Development Program for seven years. https://www.footballzebras.com/2023/04/nfl-hires-12-new-officials-some-familiar-names-join-the-league/ "The NFL has hired 12 new officials for the 2023 season. All officials are working in the XFL or USFL this spring and have been in the NFL Mackie Development Program for at least one season. The Big 12 and SEC lead the list with 4 hires each, the Big Ten has 2, and the ACC and Pac-12 have 1 each. The officials that have been hired are shown below with the number of seasons they were in the NFL’s development program; the number of seasons worked in any iteration of the AAF, USFL, and XFL; their current conference and this spring’s league; and any bowl game, conference championship game, or college invitational game they worked this past year."
  8. Haha, thanks. Still, I'm no Yolo or no way near the top posters, but I guess certain things interest me.

Those same executives and coaches said game officials and the league missed multiple calls that helped key the Seahawks' overtime victory over the Rams that sent Seattle to Saturday's wild-card round and prevented the Detroit Lions from reaching the playoffs. Even the NFL's competition committee is aware of what one source described to ESPN "as the worst officiated game of the year. [...] “The Lions should be livid,” an unnamed source said, per the report. “It was an awful way for them to end their season.” [end article excerpt] [Note: Craig Wrolstad served as the referee for the game.]
  10. He moved well enough to avoid Rousseau on his first scramble. Ugh. [Still annoyed Groot didn't get the sack.]
  11. On a positive note, we only have to wait 6 days for a chance at redemption, as opposed to the Chiefs, who have to wait 10. Anyway, we often start slow. Remember 2021? We lost to Pittsburgh, but then finished hot, being the better team against the Chiefs in the playoffs.
  12. Nahhh...he's not abandoning his cushy Amazon gig to play for the Jets behind that OL.
