  1. I agree. If the idea was resting Allen's foot for the NE game he would not have practiced at all today. Carolina now has to spend some time thinking about defensing a Bills game plan featuring Trubisky versus Allen.
  2. Regardless of the RB chosen and Barkley would be excellent, the selling point is whether they want to extend their career. Running the ball with Allen being the focus of the defense has it's advantages for a RB used to getting hit by three guys as soon as he gets the hand off.
  3. McCaffrey is the type of player Bean is going to have to be on the lookout for. He'll likely get dropped or traded by Carolina because of the contract. At the same time Cmac has to understand that he'll never stay healthy if he continues to handle the ball as much as he has. IMO in the right situation he would be the best 3rd down/passing down RB in the NFL. Signing a guy like McCaffrey would be similar to our signing Lofton back in the day. Loften was no longer a #1 WR but he was the best damn #2 in the NFL for a couple of seasons.
  4. Back to back toback dropped INT's by the Rams.
  5. Is there a QB that benefits more from YAC then Murray?
  6. The 2BD spell check made me do it.
  7. I'll say it - the Bills would have greatly benefited from signing Ernst. Our two TE sets with Ernst & Knox would be formidable both for it's run blocking and pass catching production. This duo would have been especially useful in breaking the two high safety and blitz packages being run against the Bills.
  8. Connor looks pretty good to me, especially his impact on the passing game. IMO he would be a clear upgrade to our group of RB's.
  9. The roof is open!
  10. I'll wait for better replays but if Diggs doesn't throw his arms up and looks around and runs through the ball it's a TD.
  11. Also on the long incomplete pass where Diggs was held I think he scores a TD if instead of complaining and throwing his hands up he just tracks the ball. Allen threw it within a couple of feet and Diggs seemed surprised it was that close.
  12. A lot of the folks that make a living on the NFLN and on the NFL pre-game shows and on the Sirius NFL radio network were very critical when the Bills took Allen in the first round. A lot of them got up on their high hose and trashed Allen mercilessly his rookie year. They largely ignored Allen's real progress in 2018 & 2019 but had to swallow their bile in 2020. Now some of them are back with a vengeance. As others have noted Allen still has room to grow and his play has been a bit consistent this season. But anyone with an ounce of football knowledge can see he's passed the eye test this season and his stats back that up. He's clearly an elite franchise level QB. Now with that being said I'm not optimistic about Allen and the Bills offense today. I hope I'm wrong but teams with potentially dominating D-lines are a huge problem for the Bills. Allen will be running for his life and as the Bills fall behind he'll start pressing leading to turnovers. Again I hope I'm wrong.
  13. And business as usual is giving NE the ball and getting the wind at your back in return. McD expected that to happen and BB obliged. So I'm not sure what your point is here?
  14. I believe McD was looking for the knockout blow assuming that Jones couldn't throw the ball in these conditions. While it didn't go according to McD's plan it came pretty damn close.
  15. Let me offer an alternate view here and a reason why coaches get ulcers. By taking the wind in the first quarter McD absolutely did the right thing. But two players screwed it up. NE gets the KO and goes 3 and out losing 5 yards. The Bills get the ball at midfield but on 3rd & 7 Knox drops a pass that would have got the Bills a 1st down inside the Pats 35. We punt and NE again goes 3 and out. This time their punt is caught in the wind and the Bills take over at NE's 40 yard line. The Bills get a 1st down and then on FIRST & 10 at the Pats 29 yard line Brieda fumbles away the ball. After each team had two possessions with us having the wind at our backs we should've been up 10 or even 14 to nothing. Instead two bad plays by two different players screwed it up. McD must still have nightmares of how the game started and how close he came to winning it in the 1st quarter.
  16. I was replying to someone else here who called Allen the next Stafford. I was being sarcastic with that person. I agree 100% with you. We are not ike the Lions and Allen is not like Stafford - he already has 2 playoff wins! Win 2 playoff games. How many has Stafford won?
  17. I suspect that better guard play would elevate Morse.
  18. Just checked out Cousins stats and man he's having a terrible game: 11 of 26 for 125 yards with 1 TD and 1 INT. Rating = 54!
  19. He's missed a couple of tough catches tonight. He's very good but I still think Diggs is the better, more complete WR right now.
  20. Funny how now that the Steelers are generating a bit of a pass rush all those deep crosses have dried up? Is it me or should Cousins stats be a bit better given the excellent protection, perfect indoor conditions and an awesome running game?
  21. Or the Houston game when both DT's broke through unblocked and Allen turned it into a 30 yard pass to Diggs. The number of sacks is sort of irrelevant with respect to comparing Allen & Big Ben given that one is a freak athlete and the other is an old guy playing a statue.
  22. Maybe this is what it would look like if Big Ben had our O-line in front of him? Rather then asking this question about our week one loss to to a healthy Steelers team how about being a Ravens fan asking that question tonight?
  23. All tonight shows us is that the NFL has never been more of a week to week league.
  24. I wouldn't. Diggs is more of a complete WR. The issue this season is that the O-line, which was average at best last season, has seriously regressed. So much of our passing attack is limited because of the bad pass protection.
