  1. ditto dr. fong - they truly are the weaker sex. taterhill - i have my 7. what are you hiring for! ...why am i even asking, it still comes back to bringing my wife to buffalo and it just ain't happening...
  2. they didn't get an extra down - the penalty is only 5 yards because the forward passes occurred BEHIND the line of scrimmage. had they been past the LofS then it would also have called for a loss of down.
  3. that guy is a serious douche. he acts like an out-of-control parent at his sons' pee wee football game. it's totally pathetic. i didn't make it in to the game - watched it in the parking lot and enjoyed it just as much. way to bring the road game today boys.
  4. Buffalo Chicken Sandwhiches and a case of Blue - on my way out the door to hang with all the other drinks in 16C of the Meadowlands! 55 and sunny today - here's hoping we get to take a piss on the Jets playoff campfire!
  5. How long has Plummer been in the league anyway? I'm not sure you can fairly make the comparison based on the amount of games each have played.... 2 Additional Cents: Sean Salisbury - who I still don't understand how he, after the career he had, became an analyst - was saying on 1050ESPN radio segment yesterday that JP is one of his two 2 most improved players this year... I don't know what it means, but just passing it along...
  6. 50 and sunny in the NYC region this Sunday! If you can't get tickets or don't want to pay, look for tee-vees to be set up in 16C. It's a helluva a lot cheaper than paying $8.50 for 16 plastic Budweisers inside GIANTS stadium....
  7. you are 100% right that we(buffalo) needs the tv contract money more so than most teams. i guess i view it is a catch-22 - we need the tv money, but if people can't make it to the games (b/c the team draws from such a large region) and attendance drops b/c of things like the flex-schedule and/or the NFL's strong desire to try and set up games with a high-probability of adverse weather than we might not be able to maintain a team in Buffalo i'm not a pessimistic/doomsday person but this sort of thing does not affect the larger markets b/c if regular fans don't want to go b/c of a schedule change, there is always someone else waiting in line; we don't have that luxury in the Buffalo market
  8. I totally understand what you are saying Dog, but this one is tough. I know the NFL is a big business and they need to maximize revenue every way possible, but I am having a tough time with this flex-scheduling b/c I live in NJ. I was planning on attending this game, as I do most, but I can not take work off and need to leave right after the game. Now, I have to try and dump my tickets and probably take a loss. God bless all of you that can take the time off and/or live close, but I think there are more that live outside of the area and really don't appreciate the late kickoff now...
  9. HVFan - NYC bills backers takes the lead on this one. Looking for a 100+ fans in 16C on Sunday. Even the Jet fans stop by the tailgate, usually to see Kenny, minus the pinto! I love the idea of shooting down the Jet playoff hopes!
  10. i loved jp's emotions out there again today. you can tell that the kid really wants the football in his hands and wants to win the game. it doesn't mean anything if we don't win, but while this is all coming together i'm happy to see some life, unlike what i don't see from willis. i also thought that last TD grab by Price was one of the better catches i have seen in a long time.
  11. if you ever read Gregg Easterbrook he loves bringing up these sort of scenarios and in his estimation he strongly believes it is a coach simply looking for a way to "look better" in defeat. If they don't convert the TD chances are they get shutout, so instead they take the figgie therefore nobody can claim they got shutout...
  12. i don't think it is a erosion of fan base, rather is is the old argument whether or not WNY/Southern Ontario can economically support two professional franchise. perhaps we sold out the last 27 because nobody cared about the sabres and/or they were not playing. now they are playing well again and will it come at the expense of the bills?
  13. i'm not going to pretend i even have an idea which is why I am asking. it seems like a lot has been made in various mediums about the attendance this past sunday. if the remaining games don't move i imagine even more will be made of it - in Buffalo, and especially outside of Buffalo (Los Angeles, San Antonio, Moosejaw, or wherever) so, that said, what is the current lease arrangement and/or what do you guys make of buffalo being put in spotlight more for attendance than winning 2 in a row?
  14. another item i have not seen mentioned yet and that is how come Jax went with the squib kick? if i recall, scobee had been booming balls through the endzone most of the game. if he does that we get the ball at the 20, but instead the squib only got to the 20 with a chance for return yardage. we are always quick to rip our coaching staff and qb, but when other teams exhibit the same sort of brain-farts we are accustomed to it's worth mentioning...
  15. just proves that sometimes people will never be happy: we run all over the jets, turn the ball over, lose the game - We Suck. we play conservative, only throw 15 times, don't turn the ball over and win vs GB - we still suck
  16. I can't wait for Sunday! Although it is shaping up as another difficult year for this football team, there is still nothing quite like being at the Ralph with friends and family, knocking a few 'skis back and throwing some food on the grill. If only for three hours there is no web-based fighting over what coulda, shoulda been. I still love going to Bills game, and maybe more than others b/c I only get out there a couple times a year! Signed, Happy Bills fan that wants a winner as badly as everyone else but also doesn't forget what a great time the experience is!
  17. A slug? Did the Bears come out wearing the new Sabres uni's in the 2nd half? Sorry, but I need humor in all of this somewhere. It is just not worth overanalyzing this game and I am actually glad to see nobody is overreacting. WonderJet had an awful game yesterday, Drew is on the brink again, and Manning didn't even rip apart the Flaming Thumbtacks. There's going to be weeks like this....
  18. not gonna happen, but maybe Ronnie Brown will get you 6 points for using Mularkey's half-back option pass to the TE. On the 3 yard line is a great time to use it! And if he does not do that, there must be a "Miami Shaud Williams" that he will bring in for such a key situation....
  19. it's just something we've always wanted to do - we drive in late friday and usually pass by the Ralph just to check out the RV lot and see if there is any drinking going on already! Between the costs of a hotel, etc, this seemed like something new! Thanks for the CruiseAmerica site - looks like we could pick on up in Scranton and it would cost about $900 for three days...plus gas though! I wonder if Myers rents them for just the day/night?
  20. sorry if this should be posted elsewhere, but I was wondering if anyone out there has ever rented a RV for a Bills game? Either drove in and stayed in the RV lot, or drove in to Buffalo and then picked up one locally? I am driving in from Jersey for the opener and was trying to get any idea of cost, etc with renting one locally for the weekend and staying at the Ralph? Plus, I thought it would be hilarous to take it to the golf course Saturday afternoon and to Canada on Saturday night....
  21. this is the wrong thread to write it on, and i only have 80 or so posts to back it up, but there is just something about that creepy bills mask and coincidentally it seems like everytime you reply it is like snake venom....
  22. yeah, i was thinking the same thing - an absolutely atrocious article and not from the standpoint of hating someone "anytime they write something bad about my team." It was almost like awoke from a two-year nap and writes his articles from an Artic Circle igloo, not someone who lives within ear shot of the organization.
  23. My most recent coaching memories that got people "soooo excited:" - Mularkey's cheeseburgers and walks along the Seattle waterfront... "damn, that mike is good guy.. what a players, coach..,etc. - GW playing hard-ass and waking the players up with airhorns and garbage cans.. "yeah, it's about time we beat these guys in to shape, etc. blah, blah!" all about drinking the Kool-aid!
  24. Leinhart may turn out to be very good, but in my opinion NOT in the northeast. There is no way that guy would ever have gotten comfortable playing in wind, snow, etc and oh, not being surrounded by 40 All-American's like he was the past 4 years. JP may not ultimately be the answer, but turning to Leinhart would have been another disaster in the making. I just don't see the "Delphi lunchpail guys buying in to his laid-back, SoCal attitude"
  25. that links says that the philly game is on tomorrow at 1pm. i found the bills on next tuesday around noon...
