  1. Andrews had the ball punched out from behind by Bernard in what can only be described as an exceptional play. You really going to characterize that as an unforced error?? Lamar thoroughly outplayed Josh outside of two bad plays. Let's at least be real about happened. GoBills tried to say our defense is historically bad, hence my reply to him. We were not an historically bad defense this season. We were just mediocre which is never good enough to win a SB, hence my reply to you. We don't need our defense to perform at a championship level. We just need to be regular good as we have been the last eight years. You're just outing yourself as a McD hater. I get the instinct given how thoroughly he's been outcoached by Reid, but the fact that hasn't generally happened outside of that specific playoff match up would suggest it's more of a final hurdle to clear than some indication that it can't happen period.
  2. The stats you posted weren’t just for one game? You don’t get to say we’re historically bad on defense and then only refer to one game, even if it’s one game per year against the same team.
  3. Right. One game. They were very bad in one game which happened to be the conference championship. That does not mean the D was historically bad overall. More like underwhelming and disappointing and definitely not good enough to win a SB. All the more reason to invest in it so we become more of a balanced team again.
  4. Calling our defense historically bad is hyperbole and that wasn’t the point I was making. I’m not advocating for doing a Crosby trade. Per my DK comment, we can’t afford it. Given our cap situation, we need to improve internally and through the draft. That’s how we get better on D. That’s how we’re going to have to improve on O too. for Crosby
  5. I already laid out the reasons why it’s unlikely, and again, even if we pulled it off going all-in on offense is not typically how you win a SB. What’s the goal here? Beating the Chiefs would be nice, but I’d prefer we construct a balanced team that has a better chance at the latter.
  6. Even if this was possible, and I doubt it is because they have some terrific defenders and arguably the best DC in the L, how many teams have won the SB with that strategy? We need WR help, yes. Cooper and Hollins are FA and we weren’t good enough with them. But we still have cap issues and less options to cut salary this year. Finding another Cooper-esk trade with low salary is tough, and the return on those is often lackluster as we found out. DK has a 30M cap hit. Good luck making that work. We will most likely go bargain hunting and then use one of our top three picks on a receiver like last year. And we probably need to end the investment there for now because the number holes on defense far outweighs our need at receiver, especially given Brady has re-oriented our attack around the running game. Breaking the bank for a WR we can’t afford so he can be a complimentary piece doesn’t make a lot of sense unless we’re going to switch our identity again.
  7. Even if all we do is restructure to equal the dead cap we’d do it because it’d be Von + 8M in cap savings vs. only 8M in cap savings. Von will likely be down for this because he’s not going to get 15M on the open market. Plus, we’re a SB contender. Long story short, expect Von to be a Bill in 25.
  8. Warner is right. Josh needs to recognize O'Cyrus giving up the ridiculous blow by and immediately look across his body to his check down. Instead, he follows the play deisgn and as he's about to be blown up somehow finds Kincaid 25 yards downfield in what should have been the play of the year.
  9. I would like to know more about this... On a related note, Cook was held out of key possessions 2nd half after getting lit up. How's he doing?
  10. Not in big games it isn't. Kelce is the 3rd best TE of all time. He's still very effecive in his role in the playoffs. Hopkins and Juju have also had distinguished careers and been in a lot of big games. Hollywood Brown is a deep threat (and nothng else) who spaces for everyone else. As a group, with Worthy's speed, it's ok in a win or go home game.
  11. ...Kincaid diving for the 1st on 3rd down and getting a terrible spot. Kincaid not coming up with the ball several times. KC with mutliple guys lining up in the neurtral zone, no call. Josh giving everyone jitters, teammates and coaches included, when he throws two dropped picks on the first possession. Running tush push over and over and not gettng it..very little from McD again outside of a couple successful pressures 2nd half... Chiefs are better but we need to win next year. F em.
  12. I wanted to say as much last night, but no he isn't. He just signed an extension. He just delivered a draft class with mutlitple potential future starters and rotation players. For every 1st round whiff, he unearths a diamond in the rough. When you pick bottom five of the 1st round every year, drafting superstars is much more difficult. Beane is above average by any calculation. The real question is when does this regime run its course because at some point you need to change. Teams can't continue to fail doing the same thing over and over. This regime probably has two years, maybe one if we flame out in embarassing fashion early next season. Technically, this is year 2 of the mini-rebuild. We should have a little more wiggle room under the cap. We have an extra top 60 pick. We have Josh Allen. Despite the last 24 hours, things are looking up.
  13. It's pretty amazing how many guys, including Allen, had to underperform for us to lose by 3 on the road to the best team of the decade in a rebuilding year. Josh Allen is pretty freaking amazing, man. As much as I'm crushed (again), I'm thankful 17 is still here. Big time silver lining.
  14. We do need to make a change because you can’t keep failing doing the same thing over and over. McD is turning into Doc Rivers. That said, I have little confidence in Terry picking the new regime. Beane needs to go with McD. These guys probably get two more years because Josh wins and they just signed extensions but if we lose before conference game next year there will finally be lots of pressure to change it up.
  15. Pass catcher is still our #1 need in much the same way DL is our #1 need. We rotate DL which neutralizes impact. We run the ball a lot which neutralizes pass catching impact.
  16. Choked is too strong. He was bad for him and got extremely lucky that he didn’t turn the ball over a bunch. He also wasn’t the reason we lost. Sadly, Mahomes did slightly outplay him again though so we get to listen to more Mahomes > Allen takes for the rest of eternity.
  17. Elam and Kincaid were the difference, sadly.
  18. We need a counter to their pre-snap motion. First half it was as simple as move some guys around, figure out if they're in man or zone, and run the play they don't like in that coverage.
  19. Fair point about Chiefs motion. No more guessing about whether we're in man or zone. They know.
  20. Only chance is to take advantage of their overconfidence somehow. Zero respect for our ability to stop them.
  21. "Coach Reid, you went for it on 4th down from your own 39, what was the thought process there?" "ho hoh oh oh, lotta confidence there..."
  22. Romo said it perfectly. Chiefs are winning the emotional battle. They're calm and collected. We're jittery, inaccurate, and undisciplined.
