I remember getting 36 Chambers from one of those penny CD catalogs back in the day. What's Wu-Tang Clan? Sounds cool. Gritty East coast beats with old school Kung Fu movie samples, plus 9 guys that could rap their @ss off... dope!
I have to agree with the comments about it making suburban white kids acting hood though. Saw a bunch of real life Cant Hardly Wait guys emerge 💩
36 Chambers and the first crop of solos were great. Unpopular opinion - up until some of the more recent albums 36 was truly the only great one. Wu-Tang Forever didn't follow up that well, IMO. I think Method Man even said in an interview that the difference between the first and second album was they were all riding the bus/train to the studio on the first, by the time the second dropped they were taking plane rides to LA.
ODB passing away was a big loss. He was a character that brought an energy to the group that will never be replaced.
Ghostface has maybe the best discography ever. You can argue that none of his albums are bad. Supreme Clientele 2 is amazing.
Ditto on Rae's new album. The purple tape ranks up there with Illmatic and The Infamous.
Wish GZA had more albums. The most interesting/enigmatic member.
Inspectah Deck deserves way more credit. All those those Czarface albums bang and are str8 fiyaaaaa 🔥
Method Man might be the best of them all, aside from my all time fav, Redman (A sworn in member) Meth just doesn't have that 5 star classic.
The biggest/best faction not only in Hip-Hop, but in all off music. Also, one of the most iconic logos. RZA is a genius.
