  1. There were some reports that said he was hurt in high school his sophomore year? That story came out this year. It had never been reported while he was at Wyoming. I figured after he got the pins and screws put in he would be more conservative, not in the least. He did learn how to slide better though. There were certain teams that targeted him in college, the MWC isn't known for their great officiating. I know Allens weaknesses better than most, he seems to be cleaning them up. How Vigen got lucky and got to coach Allen and Wentz is short of amazing. I personally don't feel Vigen is good enough to coach at the level he is at. It is obvious Allen is coachable, it looks like Vigen didn't have the tools to coach him up. The best thing the coaching staff did for Allen was keep the pro set offense in. I still wonder why Vigen couldn't understand he didn't have a good offensive line at Wyoming. That his run 1st offense hurt Allen and the team as a whole.
  2. As of now he is with the 2's. And it is a process, each team gets to decide how quick to move up the rookies. If you can't nderstand a basic like that, go watch hockey.
  3. Do you know the shoulder injury Allen had last year? It was a soft tissue injury. It happened on a flea flicker . He was in the process of throwing the ball when a defender hit and stretched the arm. The staff held him out of 2 and a half games as cautionary. So as not to ruin his career. He was on the sideline throwing bombs before for the Fresno State and SJSU games. If he was that injured, I don't think he would be warming up throwing deep passes before those two games. I was there for the Fresno game and saw it with my own 2 eyes. I really didn't think he would play in the bowl game to be honest. But it shows you his character that he did. He didn't want to let down his coaches, fans, and teammates. And he played in all 4 quarters of the bowl game, even though the outcome was already decided. Plus Vigen went back to his conservative play calling the 2nd half. In other words Allen went back to handing the ball off unless it was 3rd and long.
  4. If you moved on from it, it must have happened in a very short period. So is there a time frame when we just disregard whatever you happened to post earlier? That way I would know not to take what you wrote as the final word on all qb related issues. Just give Allen some time, he will make mistakes, but he is progressing. From everything I read is everyone wants Allen to not be Tyrod, thus not checkdown. He didn't checkdown, and got a TD. All is good.
  5. It wasn't open to an armchair qb at least. It was caught and called a TD wasn't it? Maybe someone needs to offer themselves up as a qb coach for the Bills. They seem to know it all.
  6. You need to let it go. You try and come off as this highly intelligent football mind, but in all actuality you want to still act like you are right about the Bills not drafting the guy you wanted. He is a rookie in his 1st game with guys all around him who were coming up short. But you want to hold him to higher standards? Let the hate go. It shows up in almost every post of yours about Allen. It is embarrasing. If you didn't notice, when he did the check downs like you wanted him to do, the spacing on the receivers was terrible. They were all grouped around the line. I don't know if it was by design or not, but the people on check downs need to float towards free space. Or another thought, maybe Carolina did a good job of taking them away. Armchair qb's are great about picking it apart the day after.
  7. As a former receiver, we were taught in jr. high not to give up on a play until the whistle blew. It has nothing to do with practicing together. Allens receivers in his last year at Wyoming would always give up on plays. It would piss me off to no end. In his sophomore year the reason he did so well on broken plays is because he had experienced receivers. I don't know if the receivers coach dropped the ball or just didn't coach it. But for some reason the receivers the year before knew what to do. It is one of the basic rules od a receiver. Run hard, or away from defenders on a broken play. We had it where one always ran back towards the qb, while the others went to open space. Preferably side to side as most qb's don't have the arm strength to throw it deep on the run. With an arm like Allens I wouldn't bother with one coming back towards the qb. I also played at the college level, although not division 1. They also taught not giving up on a play, you blocked if you thought he was running, kept trying to get open if he looked like he could throw. The best teams out there have great receiver blocking. And receiveers at the pro level should never quit on a play, especially if they are trying to catch on with a team. I would have cut anyone who hasn't figured out to never quit on a play. And others obviously agree with that on here.
  8. What I don't understand is when people say Allen played with the 3,s, so he faced crappier defenses. How do you know that was the case? Some teams are deeper than others. Carolina had a deep defense. And when you play with a weak 3rd and 4th string, how does that help you overcome a lack of talent? I feel you have no real theory to go off of. Just my opinion. No way you can evenly compare quarterbacks. Why even try? We won't know how Allen would have done against another teams 1,'s , simply because he never got the chance. So why try to even compare. There is no fair way to make your point. It was obvious Allen looked like he was back at Wyoming playing with players who lacked talent. The thing I did notice was that he was more mature and looked like he has been learning on the go. But there is no way to compare qb''s as they were all playing with different talent. On offense and defense. I felt Carolinas 3rd string defense was much better than the Bills 3rd string defense. And the Bills 3rd string O-line was atrocious. And watching some of the Bills receivers quit on plays when Allen was scrambling should get them cut. No reason for that at this level. There is just no way of comparing apples to oranges. You can try, but it won't work. And I understand that it is your opinion and I respect that, but also disagree with it.
  9. I will agree with size doesn't assure durability. I wrestled from 8 years old till 16 years old and had to make a choice between basketball and wrestling. I picked basketball. I hated cutting weight. I roomed with wrestlers all through college. Wrestlers come in all sizes and builds. College wrestlers are pound for pound some of the toughest athletes out there. Not sure about your point of Navy Seals proving anything. Is there a study or something out there? I guess I have never seen anything out there saying anything about Navy Seals having slight builds. I just assumed they came in all weights and sizes. At least the ones I have been around. I hope disagreeing with you doesn't get me booted from here. I just am not seeing your point about Navy Seals. Maybe you can elaborate on it. Is there a size code for them? I have personally known some very big Navy Seals. I put myself through college with construction jobs and athletic scholarships. And later on owned a construction company, a landscaping business I started on the side. I agree, hard workers come in all shapes and sizes. I feel it is up to the individual to decide what type of worker they want to be. Same goes for athletes. Some have God given talent, and some work to improve, while some slide by because they can. I feel it is too early to judge any of the rookie quarterback's yet. There is no way to compare them straight across. They all have played their 1st game under different circumstances. I didn't like Allen getting prejudged , and don't feel it is fair to do it to any of them. It is way too early in the process to decide.
  10. Not going to get into semantics with you. You can flick that same logic on almost every poster on here and no one is 100% good. This is arguing just to argue. I would rather talk football.
  11. I don't put out anything that isn't true or can't be supported. So how does that make me different?
  12. You have been against Allen since day 1. You also feel threatened if someone knows more than you. At least I an not trying to hide my agenda. I know Allen''s strengths and weaknesses better than you do. And I watched the games live and on film. Allen is far from perfect, but he is better than people like you give him credit for. It is way too early to figure out if he should play ahead of the other two. I am expecting some days where he doesn't have it. And then all the naysayers will be giddy. But he will come back, that is what Josh Allen does. Get used to it. As far as your debates and analysis goes, it is mostly repetitive junk you guys beat to death. There are only so many things to go over, and then it should be put to rest. But not on here, it seems to just never die out. I try not to read that same stuff over and over. Just curious, so why would Peterman or McCarron hold up to it any better? I hope Allen gets coached up not to scramble too much. I don't want to see him get hurt. I will say Allen had an innate sense of knowing where the pressure was coming. I hope he still has it in the Pros because he will need it.
  13. I vouch for him having trouble throwing those types of throws. The offense didn't use them a lot and when they did it was always iffy. The backs weren't good at catching them, and Allen wasn't real good at throwing them. But give Allen a down and out pattern and the ball was usually there on a dime, even though the other team knew it was coming, they couldn't stop it. I wished we would have had better down field receiver blocking. There would have been a lot more yards after catch. Which would have helped his stats. And his receivers hardly ever ran patterns past the 1st down marker on 3rd down. Causing another 3 and out. Wyoming's offense had a lot of flaws and was never built around Allen. It is built around a strong run game, which they didn't have last year. They averaged around 100 yards a game rushing, and they lost over 100 yards rushing from the year before where they averaged over 200 yards a game. But the OC insisted in running on 1st and 2nd down, and Allen usually had to throw on 3rd and long. Every team then brought the blitz and Allen made the best of it. But I never saw him complain during his whole time at Wyoming.
  14. I am pretty sure all the teams thinking of drafting Allen had him do physicals. They wouldn't be stupid enough to draft him that high if they had questions or worries about his health. But I figure you already know that seeing you have a doctorate in anatomy. So you should know better than most of us if the Bills need to worry. I pitched fast pitch softball for 25 years, finally blew my rotator cuff lifting after the season ended. It was most painful. I feel it has healed, but don't want to take the chance and find out. Don't care to invite that pain back. Plus the sport died out in our area. Now I stick to golf. And I suck at that because I want to swing the club hard like I did the bat. It just doesn't feel right if you can't go full speed. Lol.
  15. Did you watch the game? He played better than the stats show. Also had a td in the end zone dropped, not counting others passes dropped. I will even admit it didn't look like the Josh Allen from the year before. The OC tried to make him play differently than the year before. He certainly wasn't himself. Worry about yourself. I don't want to see you melting down again because someone didn't think you put your time in. This is a message board. It is full of opinions, right or wrong. Some people do their homework, some don't.
  16. OK old wise one. I think we all know what he has to do. Thanks for that brilliant insight. Maybe, just maybe that quick release might help him a little. And there are old NFL qbs that can't adapt to the speed of the NFL game, just for the record.
  17. You guys act like he never got hit in college. He played behind a horrible line and he took on all comers. He sought out contact. In a game against SDSU, he threw an interception and chased the guy down at the 2 yard line and laid him out. He caused a fumble for a touchback. Wyoming ball on the 20. That is Allen and his mindset, he will do whatever it takes to win. Including playing in a crap offense with a crap OC at Wyoming. He just wants to play football. He will beat the odds, he usually does.
  18. I agree with giving it time, that is common sense. But you also know one of those intereptions wasn't on him.
  19. Get out of town, did you catch if he fell off the monkey bars in grade school? High school? Really? Get a life. Did you also figure out that even though he had those injuries, he stIill probably throws the hardest and tightest ball in the NFL? But throw that out the door. I saw him in person 16 times, and the guy is a beast. Are you sure he didn't hurt his pinkie somwehere along the line? The bottom line is other than getting operated on, he didn't lose any significant time. And as much as he was hit playing for Wyoming, he held up tremendously. But if you knew anything other than how to work a keyboard, you would know that. Non issue. You are barking just to hear your own voice. And if you would have seen the play he hurt his shoulder on like I did, you would know what the injury consisted of. It was a fake dive into the line right before halftime, and a flee flicker back to Allen so he could throw deep. It was a strung out play and his arm got snagged on his follow through. In all reality, he could have probably played the rest of the game. But on the side of safety, they didn't want to screw up his pro career. But then you would know that if you had real inside info, which I do. Oh sorry about the essay. Not.
  20. Exactly, let's side with the haters who can't even put out the real story. I watched Allen warm up before the San Jose State game and he was throwing bombs. He was healthy enough to play. His coach held him back to make sure. He didn't want to see him ruin his career over one game they should have won without him. But due to his inefficient OC, they lose to lowly SJSU. If Allen would have had a decent OC at Wyoming, his numbers would have been a lot better. When you consistently run on down 1 and 2, and then pass on down 3, the defense pretty much knows what plays you are running. And they did, and his OC would not change it up. He is one of the worst OC's I have ever seen. And they still manage to win 8 games two years in a row with Allen. Pretty amazing.
  21. How did he injure the same shoulder 3 times? Whoever put that out is poorly misinformed. He hurt it his 1st game at Wyoming , got it operated on and redshirted the rest of the year. The next year he played the whole year and never got hurt. His last year he hurt it against Air Force and missed the 2nd half and the next two games. He then played in the bowl game to end his season with a blowout and win. Then played in the Senior Bowl and was North MVP. Does anyone need some more real history on Allen?
  22. You take yourself way too serious. This is just a message board and none of us are getting paid. Lighten up. I put my time in also. And I never said you didn't deserve an opinion, I just disagree with yours. Not the end of the world. Why would you say behave to me? I am not a child and threw out something you obviously didn't like. Are you a school marm? Scorpio 83, so if anyone who disagrees with you is delusional? I have seen you post that to myself and others that disagree with you. Great defense, just call the other poster delusional. End of story. I like that. It will be my new way of handling discussions.
  23. Was that one of those timing throws Allen isn't capable of throwing? Oh never mind, no defenders on him.
  24. You are quite full of yourself and your opinion. You must also get paid well for your "thoughts" on Allen. Maybe our box seats are next to each other and we can both throw our expertise opinions at each other between plays.
  25. I am sure you are paid a great deal of money on here for your negative outlook on Allen. Spend it wisely.
