If there is one position where I’ll give McDermott the benefit of the doubt… its Safety

I would still fill a couple or holes in FA before the draft … Get a S, WR, DE and DT… they won’t necessarily be the top guys, but starter level if need be … perhaps the likes of Daquan Jones and AJE come back … they won’t be still there after the draft … They will still have plenty to do in the draft …

They can have up to three comp picks .., and these are for 2025 draft … .., The player needs to sign for a reasonable amount of money to qualify for the comp pick formula …like $2.5m a year or so .. They likely bring in a WR in FA, and maybe at least one if not two on the D Line…

One of the most surprising moves of the day IMO…( maybe except for Morse cut).. I said when this idea was discussed last month, that another team would pay him more money than the Bills would to be their backup .. Hope they aren’t paying him too much more than the minimum

I said about 2 months ago that it wouldn’t surprise me if he was back … thought his play improved over the course of the season… Money is more than more than I thought they would have to pay …I was thinking 2 years at $6m Edit - oh yes .. “ up to”… better wait for the official numbers

At least the $9m paycut that he has allowed them to save in 2024 will mean that they can put this money towards a starter at DE, and Miller can just be rotation Maybe more likely they bring back AJE now?

Why would they cut him though ? He was the best CB here after he arrived .. and they just traded a 3rd round pick for him … My take is that his agent is playing hard ball on the money for his extension …so Beane didn’t want to come across as too enthusiastic about him in the presser -

Thought that cutting Morse was on the cards since the start of the offseason … Then changed by mind yesterday when they traded Bates … Beane always surprises… I need to take a look in more detail at the top C draft prospects … think a Day 2 pick could be in play
