It’s going to happen one year and 2024 is more likely then the previous years

I’m going to predict that both Morse and Bates don’t return…. they can no longer be paying Bates $4m a year to sit on the bench … They could trade him for a 4th or 5th I think … he is a starter in this league …I wouldn’t even hate keeping him and seeing what he has at C and moving on from Morse …

They are $50mil in the hole … gotta cut a couple

Is Reggie Gilliam a top 5 fullback in the NFL?

I found it interesting that they extended him after only two years … can’t recall them doing that otherwise with a undrafted guy …. They must have liked him I’m not going to lose any sleep if he sees out his last year at $1.9m -
Mr. Pegula please read Tyler Dunne’s newest article

Perhaps in hindsight Dorian should have been given some more opportunities during the year so he might have been a bit more seasoned when they really needed him … it’s a familiar pattern we see with rookies, particularly on the Defence … I think he will develop into a pretty reasonable player if he gets the snaps although he is stuck behind Bernard and Milano if they are both good to go… Klein was terrible against KC and Mcdermott persisted with him for way too long … I dont know what other options he had …. But something else needed to be attempted .. couldn’t have been any worse … -
D line needs some work… only have Oliver, Groot and Miller back … going to need to get creative with some cheap FAs but mainly in the draft … and I don’t want them spending a first on the D line unless it’s a can’t miss .,.
-
I hear you bro… they need to get creative somehow … my thoughts are that other than moving up in the first a few spots for a WR if there is one they are in love with .. I’d be happy for them to take some shots with those Day 3 picks … they are losing 20 free agents this year so these guys can make the team this season …obviously they will be backups but cheap at least ….

3 6th round picks wont get a third ,,, Are you familiar with a draft chart ? Here is an example of one that values the Bills three 6th round picks for a top of the 5th… https://www.drafttek.com/NFL-Trade-Value-Chart.asp?RequestTeam=Buf

So was AJ… but I’d probably prefer AJ if I had to choose

It would require giving up future first round picks which I don’t see them doing,,, Moving up from the bottom of the first into the Top 10 is an expensive undertaking … Beane has moved up a measly two spots the last two years and that cost them a fourth … like I said maybe their third moves them up four spots … keep the second for another swing somewhere else or even double up at WR …
-
When you say free agents …Im not talking about the players … but the assistant coaches … I hope he has some that challenge him and are not just long term acolytes that have bought into his philosophies … He is far from perfect and things could do with some tweaking … he butted heads with Daboll it seems . but Daboll was the most successful assistant he has had..

In a team environment… not all growth can come from self growth … outside ideas and influence are essential in my opinion

If a team traded for Knox … we would have to be the ones throwing in a pick to get them to bite on that contract… Dane Jackson is not under contract in any event … but has very limited trade value … Moving beyond say Pick 23-24 is a bit of a pipe dream .. and even doing that would cost their third round pick …
-
I love him too… likely to go in the Top 12 … we will be looking up waving him goodbye ,,, Probably … Beane is already looking at their pick at the end of the third to move up 3 or 4 spots …there will be 3 or 4 WR left but there will be one he loves … If he gets it right then all good… but this is one year they could use that third round pick to find another contributor..
-
Beane wasn’t here for the Mahomes pick … so can’t blame him for that … You can’t also hit Beane over the head because “ he could have got the Josh Allen pick wrong”… he didn’t … and you are surprised they got something of that magnitude correct ? Well … they did … It’s also not very honest to say he has only been right “one time”… he has drafted some good players ….found a few decent guys in FA.. turned around an average ( at best) team he inherited into a top 6 team these past 4 years … Made some absolutely terrible decisions though … signing Star, trading for Benjamin, letting Teller go… Boogie Basham, Ford and Elam…Took a long time to give Josh a functional O Line …and others .. He has a mountain to climb this offseason … got to replace a lot of guys with minimal cap .. and needs to find 3 good playes ( at leastj) in the draft that impact this team in 2024. … they have some good pieces still..( Not just Josh) … so I will give them a chance if he can make the right calls ….. if he doesn’t then next year might be the last year for him and Sean ..
-
I can’t argue with a lot of what you said here … but the 2018 draft navigation from Beane from pick 21 to 7 ( giving up Glenn and a couple of seconds) to pick Josh Allen ( wrong Josh) will always be a thing of beauty … This alone will get him into the GM Hall of fame .. and will trump his wasted dollars in that years free agency .. Plus in 2018 … he also managed to trade Tyrod Taylor and a cap hit for Pick 65
-
I won’t go as far as to say no excuses … Beane was determined to pick a CB in Round 1 in 2022 and we saw how that worked out … But there should be 90 percent chance it’s a WR… if not then they need to go Rounds 2 and 3
-
Yay …a CB in Round 1…(again) … no DTs left I presume …
-
Ok…I think if it’s one or the other then I would go Douglas .. That third round pick they gave up is not a frivolous investment at this particular time …and they need a better return then half a season… As mentioned , the $9m savings can become $6m with an extension… normally I’m not excited about extending 30 yr old CBs … but I’ll make an exception given his play he showed here … I think Tre could likely be gone …. I have concerns about how he recovered from his first injury …and how long it will take him to get over this one … Douglas And Benford will be the CB starters next year if Douglas is extended …
-
I really dont know what more he could have done the second half of the season … I’m actually more concerned that his play he showed here will make him want to test the market and he could force his way out if he has visions of getting $12m a year from someone and doesn’t want to agree an extension …they would have to cut him then most likely … Hopefully given his age he signs a new deal this offseason at say 3 years $24m with an out after year 2 if he falls off a cliff … He is likely the CB1 next year … and with all the other issues with this team … they don’t need another one…
-
Why do think they move on from Douglas ? They just traded a 3rd for him mid season and he was their best CB after he got here … he was disappointing in the playoff loss but he was playing through injury … Extend him and save $6m on his cap hit …it’s really a no brainer for Beane provided Douglas agrees
