Hahaha this has me cracking up. Sports fans both misunderstand and overuse the word regression.

Thanks for doing this! Super enlightening. I need to find the analysis, but I did a breakdown of team’s plays over the last decade or so. It was somewhere between 950 - 1100 plays in a season (believe it was before they started 17 games seasons). Then you’ve gotta divvy that up between run/pass. Meaning there is a limit on targets… Player X has to lose opportunities in order for Player Y to gain them. I think a lot of fans misunderstand there’s a cap on how many targets are in a given season. The Bills are just shy of 1,000 plays this year… going to be hard for them to break 1,100. A few teams are over 1,000 now… but won’t go above 1,200 plays. Rough math on a 55/45 Run/Pass split means there’s around 660 targets available per team.

I hope Elon Musk lets him apply for verification

Would you consider the Boogie Basham pick to be a disappointment?

Could’ve sworn we signed him during UFA? Didn’t Phillips say “sign the contract Shaq” during his press conference? -

No. That’s why I’m asking… -

Leslie Frazier expected to be "in the mix" for Broncos HC job

This is sarcasm, right? -
It’s not sarcasm… the Sabres REALLY need to build a dome. If they had a dome, they totally could have avoided having to postpone games last week and this week! I can’t believe Don Granato spent all that time lobbying with the league to postpone the game. When men were men, right?

You’re totally not understanding what people are upset at Miami about in their handling of Tua’s concussion. They blatantly ignored the fact he was concussed against Buffalo and allowed him to play the 2nd half. Then he went out on the field 4 days later and got another concussion with a pretty gnarly response that was seen on live TV. If you can show me where the Bills did that with Morse (leave out the random fluff about Humphrey and Linderbaum) and you’ll have a serious argument.

@SUNY_amherst PLEASE TELL THE SABRES TO BUILD A DOME. I AM BEGGING YOU.

Ok let‘s look at this and break it down… McBeane are really good at their jobs, and while they should learn from other teams as much as they can, EVERY team is looking at them as the blueprint. I said the following: 1) McBeane are really good at their jobs. 2) Other teams look to them as the blueprint for team building. 3) They need to continue to learn as much as they can from other teams That was me saying they’re infallible? Let’s look at this one quick… Nobody says Beane and McD suck. Literally no one. So it’s not “literally no one” Ethan. And these were just the first 3 I found by searching the word “sucks”

Yes! The Broncos hired Nate Hackett who was a failed offensive coordinator here. They also traded for Russell Wilson who looks like a shell of himself and his teammates can’t stand him. They were eliminated from the playoffs like 2-3 weeks ago and sit at 4-11 after being blown out by the Rams yesterday. The Raiders hired Josh McDaniels who has been miserable anywhere outside of New England. That has held true in Las Vegas! They traded for superstar WR Davante Adams to compliment Renfrow, Waller and Jacobs as weapons for Carr. They sit at 6-9 after blowing a ridiculous about of games and getting a gift from the Pats 2 weeks ago. They’re still “in the hunt” but only in name. I would like to point out to FilthyTroll that McBeane are really good at their jobs, and while they should learn from other teams as much as they can, EVERY team is looking at them as the blueprint. Y'all want to act like what we have here sucks and then you look at these “stacked teams” like Miami, Denver, Las Vegas, Los Angeles and Cleveland that can’t get it to translate to the field.

Lol. Dolphins beat writer claiming the Dolphins need to be able to establish the run for this “cold weather game.” It’s 50 degrees there 😂

NFL Week # 16 - Bills at Bears - post game thread
JGMcD2 replied to BuffaloBill's topic in The Stadium Wall
I got dumber reading this post. Literally nothing of substance… just you saying “bum” every other sentence. There are some plausible reasons for not using those timeouts before the half. Did you see the issues ST was having today? Hines is typically a pretty good returner and was pretty timid/almost goofed up a few times. Bears had issues too. Last thing they needed there was a muffed punt to give the Bears a chance to score before the half. Also, how is Terry Pegula cheap but at the same time McDermott is padding his bank account? 😂 -

I love you Josh Allen -
That wasn’t the initial point you made… you were displaying that Gabe has the majority of his production tied to a handful of games… so does Zay. And while people had Gabe breaking out this year… I don’t think anyone really discussed numerically what that looked like… or had realistic expectations. The discussion was WR2 numbers… he’s 2nd on the Bills in Targets, Receptions, Yards, TD, First Downs… he’s been our WR2. If you look at what a WR2 averages in a season it’s around 80/990/6. He’s on pace for 54/982/8… pretty damn close. He’s been a 55% catch guy his 2 years prior… his numbers look like what you would expect from a volume increase in an expanded role. People weren’t ACTUALLY expecting WR2 numbers… they wanted him to put up the same numbers as Diggs. I don’t disagree on the overall message in the last paragraph… he needs to be more consistent catching the ball… just pointing out the way you displayed stats comparing the two wasn’t really transparent.

I mean the comparison was Zay Jones vs. Gabe Davis. I’m going to do the same thing you just did… Zay Jones 100% of his TDs, 45% of his yards and 36% of his catches are in 3 games. He’s got a 70% catch rate. Gabriel Davis 66% of his TDs, 46% of his yards and 31% of his catches are in 3 games. He’s got a 55% catch rate.
