    Mini-hubub down here about Mallett tweeting out something after the game Sunday that included something to the effect of: #waitingtobecalled Mallett promptly deleted it. Also there was word of Clowney liking some instagram photos of a female admirer, during the game.

    That ONE thread is in itself worthy of satire IMO. What actual NFL people fire an OC that's running the offense of a 5-3 football team? None. Fans who call for such firing are comical IMO.

    How do you know Whaley didn't try? I should know better by now, but I can't believe the outrage that's come from our fanbase since Sunday. Silly me, I thought 5-3 at the bye was pretty good.

    This is correct. Why risk getting Orton killed just to win prettier? Just win baby. I'm shocked at the complaining as we sit at 5-3.

    I follow the Bills fairly closely, but I don't recall seeing or reading that Orton vetoed Marrone's decision to punt on 4th vs the Pats*. Do you have a link for that?

    Can a non-expert offer an opinion in this thread? I see this coming down to the Bills' ability to implement a short passing game and protecting Orton. If they can do those things, they win. Any word on Aaron Williams' availability yet?

    Based on my study of Buddy Nix press conferences, I've concluded that his thumbs are in fact shaped like bananas. But I can't confirm (yet) that he is in fact our very own Bananathumb. Further updates to come as the investigation progresses... Maybe I should have broken this news in a separate thread?

    Serious question: does continuity truly breed success, or is it more accurate to say that success results in continuity? Kind of a chicken and egg question there.

    Agree. Russ is safe regardless and is trying to vouch for the Dougs. But it likely won't cut ANY ice with the consultant. Who's his Fisher buddy?

    I'd feel better about this if we were playing with rules from the 1980s. As Rivers and Brady have proved, good QBs can beat us with the pass.

    Some media type has got to get to the bottom of why Urbik hasn't seen the field yet at what is a terrible guard position for this team. Did he get caught making fun of Marrone behind his back or something? There's a reason why you don't see 6'7" guards, and Pears exemplifies that. How he rates starting over Urbik is inexplicable.

    I had the same thought. The Bills seem to devalue interior line play, and what is this getting them? In contrast, Jerry Jones, that draft mastermind, picks G Zack Martin in the first round and he's now in the conversation for offensive ROY. Link
