  1. $20M per for and edge rusher is starter money not top end talent money. Full disclosure, I like Rousseau, but to this point he hasn’t been a game changer, he’s not a top end edge rusher. However, he has been great against the run…who knows maybe this is his year, he has looked great is the pre season. Agree, Oliver and TJ are very good, but the others you mentioned are just good (average to slightly above). You’re correct, Bills are not void of talent, but they are void of top end / game changing talent. Life of a Bills fan, anticipate the worst and hope for the best.
  2. We still have the awful contracts of Von Miller, Bass, Matt Milano and Dawson Knox that all will eventually be dead cap. If this is a reset year, next year could phase two of that reset. Too many awful contracts given out to old or injury prone players.
  3. This defense is poo. Not a single quality edge rusher (unless miller returns to form), LB dept is super suspect and our safeties have to be to worst pairing in the league. I’m not concerned at all about the offense, but this D looks void of talent.
  4. This is almost completely wrong, the 49ers had little leverage because teams wouldn’t agree to the trade without a pre negotiated extension. There’s no doubt he took a hometown discount knowing he’s gone in 2027. He’s ring chasing with his current team, which I applaud him for. Not many players are willing to do what he did, especially on a second contract. $45M over 3 years is not a big offer for a top 5WR…not even remotely close.
  5. This is essentially a 3yr 45Million guaranteed contract extension. Why he would sign this contract is beyond my understanding. Not a whole lot of injury insurance compared to the other top WR contracts. Plus there is no way the 49ers agree to pay him $42M in 2027. They will take dead cap hits of $9M, $4M and $14.5M (void) in 2027-2029. Major victory for the 49ers management.
  6. Although I agree with your premise, I don’t think Simmons was the catalyst. He signed for peanuts with Atlanta, Beane coulda easily fit him within the cap. Obvious to me that the Bills are getting away from signing old players to big $ deals, it’s been a complete failure of a strategy to this point.
  7. Decent option for the PS.
  8. So maybe a conditional 7th round pick for a backup QB is the definition of insanity? Bills have a playoff caliber roster and currently zero insurance at the most important position…that’s insanity to me.
  9. We probably hoping for Cole to do it because Rapp only lays out his teammates.
  10. Trubisky sucks and the OP is looking to discuss a viable backup option on the cheap. I don’t get the snarky response?
  11. No way! I’m starting to love this WR room, we quietly got better.
  12. You obviously spent a lot of time with this post and I applaud your effort, thank you!! Playing devils advocate, I would contest that you’re not considering many variables. For example Brady and Manning could only make the SB once per year because they played in the same conference. Thanks again for your reply and for the time you spent gathering this info!
  13. You are manipulating the data set by removing outliers like Brady, Mahomes, Montana, Jimbo, Rothlisberger, and countless other QBs that have been to multiple SBs and only including a select few to prove your point. For all of the other stats you’re including, that’s regular season where this Bills team under McD has shined (as I clearly stated in my posts). This team underperforms in the playoffs plain and simple.
  14. Care explain (if you’re capable of that) or just sling mud?
  15. I bet you atleast 5 of those 20 teams (25%) you claim the Bills are better than because of McDermott and Allen, they lost too last year.
  16. Still doesn’t make sense in this context champ, thanks for playing.
  17. What…no…how did you even get that out of my post? I’m simply saying it’s frustrating having the 2nd best QB in the NFL, the best Bills QB of all time, and can’t make the SB year in and year out after dominating the regular season. I have little to no confidence McD can get us to the promise land because of previous results.
  18. Or stick with the same one who’s proven over and over again that he can’t?
  19. This team has led the league in wins and by a wide margin point differential, over a 5 year period and has 0 SB appearances to show for it. It’s not just last year like your snarky post suggests, it’s the Texans Collapse, 13 seconds, the Bengals catastrophe at home in addition to last year’s loss at home. This team statistically dominates the regular season and flounders in the playoffs every year.
  20. With McD you’re reliving the same post season collapse nightmare every year. I think it’s natural to lose some interest until he’s replaced or demonstrates post season competence with the 2nd best QB in the nfl
  21. Our backup QBs are so awful a it’s nearly impossible to asses the WRs on this roster from preseason tape. We don't have a capable running QB on the roster, and at this point Trubisky is waste of a roster spot. If Josh can’t Josh, might as well run the wild cat with 3 RBs in the backfield.
  22. They were pushing to defend last year’s offseason Lombardi at all cost.
