  1. Had a feeling some old coot would say this.🤣🤣 Not quite where you are but since the early 70s. 😉
  2. I'll repeat myself again, I have no problem getting another #2 wr. I have issue with what Hopkins cost. I do believe this staff can draft a player that can contribute right away. BUT, I also belive that a new player has to earn the spot and beat the incumbent for play time. I like this approach. They showed it with Ford (cough), Groot, Oliver, Benford as well several others They are willing to start you if you earned it. As long as the NFL season is and the level of competition is much higher, just throwing a rookie onto the field because they were drafted at a certain point is asking for failure. Confidence is important and shouldn't be taken lightly. Promise is one thing, performance is another. Think about it. If we put Elam out there and he was going against Hill and had a hard time or Shakir and he had a couple of drops. Would you be saying the same thing? He shows Promise or would you be complaing about them not making (or performing) on the play? So many people are out for instant gratification. Slow down and enjoy the ride a little. Life is about the journey, not the destination. 😉
  3. I was trying to be fair, but I believe you're correct. 🤫 I said this earlier, I'm not against getting a #2 wr. I'm against the cost of Hopkins.
  4. This is what I am talking about. Everyone blames Davis. What about the oline that couldn't block, a OC that couldn't adjust to what was being given, a running game that was lacking, Josh's mistakes and bad throws. Everyone made Allen and Diggs jobs harder. It wasn't one player (Davis). But if you guys just want to dump on Davis because it's the cool thing and you want Hopkins, have at it. But unless the oline, call plays and running game improve it won't matter much. We were 13-3 in the regular season and 2 of the losses were on Josh. So, Davis cost us 1 game (Jets). NOBODY showed up for the Ciny game. Great, let's spend a 2, 3 and Cap space. Why not. 😔
  5. Did you see Wilson play at all last season? Do you think he played well? Did you see Geno play? I think he was in a good system in Seattle that made him look better than he is. In any event, he is NOT Allen.
  6. With what QB's? Have to think he would be even better with Diggs and Allen on his side.
  7. I believe Risner is still available? We could add him for less than the cap hit for Hopkins and still have our draft picks. I'm not really hight on OBJ, but again, could probably get him and still keep our picks. It may cost a 1st for Juedy, but he still has a year on his rookie deal if I remember correctly and he is probably better wr than what would be available in the draft to us.🤔 I was thinking Chark, but that option sailed. Personally, if I were Beane, I'd also reach out to the Colts and see if they are willing to part ways with Pittman. Seeing they were thinking of trading him to move up. MAYBE, there is something there? New regime, last year of his rookie deal and they got Pierce last draft. Maybe they could use an extra pick to move up to secure a qb (not get jumped), or maybe the new coach's flexibility with a new scheme? Just thinking outside the box here.
  8. I guess I should add this here.😁 Hopkins is NOT worth a 2nd, 3rd and cap space.
  9. I'm not arguing against getting a #2wr and moving Davis to 4. I'm against the cost (picks and $) of Hopkins. For a 2nd, 3rd the cap space and impact it will have for the next couple of years, I'm sure we could upgrade the OL and add a #2 wr this year if they want to.
  10. There are ALWAYS options. Patience is a virtue. We don't need to do anything RIGHT now. Doesn't sound like there are any other teams involved and if there are and they are willing to pay more, so be it. There's this story about a Bull and his son on a hill... 🤣 I've said in other posts, we don't need another #1 wr, it would be a luxury, not a necessity. You are just stuck on this one.
  11. It's not pennies here. You NEVER pay MSRP when you go to a dealer. I would NEVER pay "Whatever it takes" to get a player. There are ALWAYS options and choices. We just did this with Von and what happened? There are NO guarantees and overpaying for a 30 year old WR would be "criminal " or "unacceptable".
  12. I know your not complaining just to complain. I enjoy most of your posts and opinions. I just think people are enamored with a big name wr and one player is not going to do it. IMO, costs outweigh the benefit in this case. We don't need to upgrade Allen. We need him to play the way he is fully capable of. He didn't in those games. Just like I think Davis is better than what we saw last season. Dorsey just needs to get his crap together and create/have better gameplans/gamecalls. Frazier is gone, so I am expecting better results if we fill the holes on D. According to many, we have already upgraded the offense with Harty, Sherfield, McGovern, Edwards and Harris. Then we should have a Healthy Allen, Knox not having to be kept in to block and Shakir in his second year. Why do we have to have an expensive, shiny new toy that's 30? I'd rather use the 2nd to fill a real need and have some money available if needed. Don't get me wrong in any way. If it happens, Great and I will cheer and support the the team the same way I always do. If it doesn't, I am not going to cry or lose any sleep over it. 😉
  13. Probably. I almost put it in another thread about unpopular opinions. I probably should have put a PS. In there also stating he is the reason we won other games, but probably would have been ignored with the rest of it.😂
  14. I blame Josh for not having the #1 seed. Couldn't throw a ball to a WIDE OPEN McKenzie in the Miami game, the fumble in the end zone against Minny and the stupid int's in the red zone. I blame Dorsey for not forcing Josh to use the short game and take what was available. I blame Frazier for not playing more press. I blame injuries, one heck of a challenging year inside and outside of football. There's a lot of blame to go around, but everyone just dumps on Davis. Did he drop passes he should have caught? Sure. But it wasn't all his fault for where we ended.
  15. I like Campbell. Would prefer a small trade back, but wouldn't be upset if we took him at 27. I think he will be the best of the 3 LB's listed. Don't think any of these wr give us anything more this season than what we already have on the roster right now. OT spots are already filled. Later rounds will be fine for depth and development. 1st is too early for a G only prospect. If he could play T/C, Maybe.
  16. PFN. Single trade. Traded 27 to Detroit for 34, 81, 194 and 2024 7th. 34. J. Campbell LB Iowa 59. K. Benton DT Wisconsin 81. S. Avila OG/C TCU 91. Z. Harrison Edge Ohio State 130. R. Johnson RB Texas 137. A. Losivas WR Princeton 194. J. Whyle TE Cincinnati 205. J. Hicks S Cincinnati
  17. Maybe not, but, do they go in the 1st? I'd say probability is good.😉 Ika, I agree.
  18. I think it depends on what BB you look at.🤔
  19. Sometimes it's just a business decision. I don't think he was nearly as bad as the "hearty few" say he was. I'll reserve final judgment until I know who takes his place and see how they do in the McD scheme.
  20. I'll wait 36 days, but Not a day longer.😁
  21. I'm not agreeing with it, I'm probably in the minority as I don't think DHop fits in Buffalo. Very good player, but, just something about him doesn't feel like a team fit. Now, I haven't been back in Buffalo in over 20 years and maybe people have changed, but he would clash with my upstate NY personality. 😉
  22. I agree. I'd keep Gabe and draft another outside wr. Just thought it was interesting. Need younger cheaper.
