This is were over valuing stats / analytics is an issue. They talk about it being a game of inches and how every yard matters. So if you get a team to start at the 22 vs the 25 its a huge advantage. I call bs. The goal is to stop teams from scoring. Rarely is the situation - wow we would have stopped that TD if it was a 79 yard drive instead of a 73 yard drive. You either keep them out of the end zone or not. The game of inches and every yard mattering is on specific plays not in comparing 80 vs 70 yard drives.

Spent way too much time looking at our punter. But more convinced that he sucks. First he is paid near a top 10 salary with guaranteed money. Not sure how he swung that contract. But you look at the numbers: 19 of his 38 punts are from inside our own 35 yard line. 9 of those 19 were not even kicked 50 yards. Only 2 of them went 60 yards. These are gross yards not net. Looking at his punts from midfield there are 11. Only 2 of the 11 pinned the opponent inside the 5 yard line. When your punting from there you have to pion your opponent at the goal line more than that. So he is not good at the long punts, not good at dropping it inside the 5. Bottomline he somewhere between average and terrible but being paid like is great to above average.

Trade or draft could be cheapest route. There are not a ton of free agents this year either so good year to be a free agent WR. Biggest names are Evans, Pittman, Higgins, OBJ, Ridley, Davis. The next level are guys like Boyd, Samuel, Osborn, Bourne, Mooney, Chark.

The punter said players and people from the Bills organization have checked on him frequently over the last year, and still do. As for what’s next, the punter said he has not stopped training and is ready for another chance in the NFL. Joe Linta, Araiza’s agent, confirmed in a call with FOX 5 Wednesday that NFL teams have been calling him since the lawsuit against him was dropped.

Michael Turk is worth a shot. Was a holder in college and as well. Corliss Waitman was released from NE practice squad. He beat out Martin for the job in DEN when the Bills signed Martin. Has also been a holder. Call Araiza and see if he is looking for a job.

Martin is awful. He is bottom of the pack in gross and net yards. He is in the bottom half in punts inside the 20. Bring in some competition.

It is a week by week league. This year more than ever. We beat DAL this week and we have all the momentum yet are likely still out of a playoff spot technically. Each win and we are step closer. Depending on how other games go we have a shot at essentially any seed. Things go really weird we still have a shot at #1.

Great week for the Bills

Two wrongs dont make a right. Just because he is better than Dorsey does not make it good enough. The play-calling is head scratching. The personnel is odd at times. Our downfield passing game is primarily backyard football not play design. Our ability to make adjustments is lacking.
