It was mostly screens, slants, and drags.

Yes, but the info came from someone outside my usual network and he swore me to secrecy on it.

Andre is 99% going to UConn. Isaiah though...we'll see. I know the staff feels like they're in a good place for him. Heard his visit went very well. Like Johnny said, we thought we were out of the picture completely and then Isaiah reached out to us. Kentucky looms as a big threat as always though.

Emmanuel Sanders might be on the block...
DCOrange replied to Mango's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Denver isn’t trading him for a 5th when they’ll get a 3rd or 4th for letting him walk. i think I’d pass on him personally but I wouldn’t be mad if we went for it either. -
I won't waste too much time on this because I think we probably both agree that Allen is a far better prospect than EJ was. Totally agree that they aren't very similar as players; someone else summed it up pretty well. Can't remember who, but they mentioned that EJ flat out looked like a bad QB; Allen looks like a talented QB that's making unnecessary mistakes right now. I think it's pretty much as simple as that between the two of them. Allen has far better tools and passes the eye test much better than EJ; he just needs to cut some of these poor decisions out and avoid letting his mechanics revert like they did this week. Having said all that, EJ did lead two game winning drives his rookie year, which is right in line with Allen. But again, I don't think EJ was particularly close to Allen as a prospect.
-
I think EJ was likely never going to pan out (and I didn't think highly of him as a prospect in the lead up to the draft either even though I had been told he was our target), but I also think he had a crazy short leash considering the okay-ish play that we got out of him. To only give him 16 starts, most of which came in a year where he was never meant to play to begin with, was pretty crazy.

Kalen Ballage might be worse.

I think Gruden and Quinn are the only options honestly. Anybody else that gets let go would be kept until the offseason IMO. Gruden and Quinn have a decent chance of getting the axe earlier than that. I kinda wonder if Mike Zimmer gets the axe in the offseason. If they continue winning games in spite of their passing attack, maybe he survives, but he can't fire DeFilippo this time and I believe his contract is up at the end of the year anyways.
-
Burfict should be banned, though I think this suspension likely accomplishes that anyways; I doubt anyone else gives him a chance after this. Jones...I don't really think he should be suspended. A fine is alright; I think the taunting after the play was a bigger infraction than the actual hit was personally.
-
I think most people can agree with that honestly. Doesn't mean moving on from him was the wrong decision, or even that picking Allen was the wrong decision.

In my defense I've been saying we should cut/trade Zay for years now. I assume anyone that is saying Cut Zay today was probably already on that bandwagon to begin with.

It's bad, but for perspective, Allen was tied for 14th in the league for QB fumbles last year (of course he didn't play the entire season so he likely would have been higher if he had). QBs that fumbled more than him last year: Derek Carr Jared Goff Lamar Jackson Dak Prescott Case Keenum Josh Rosen Matt Ryan Russell Wilson Kirk Cousins Patrick Mahomes Marcus Mariota Deshaun Watson Carson Wentz He's undoubtedly off to a bad start this year in that regard though. Point being, QBs fumble the ball a lot in general; Allen fumbles more than most but he's not a huge outlier or anything.

I know the answer because I too read The Athletic article lol

This is more or less where I am too. I'm sure a guy that's good at 50-50 balls would come in handy, but I don't think it takes precedent over guys that can get separation. Brown and Beasley can separate. Zay is unfortunately just a bad football player. I should note that I hated him as a prospect coming out of college too, so maybe I'm seeing what I want to see, but I would have happily gotten rid of him the past two years even setting aside the fact that I thought he was a poor prospect to begin with. I think it makes our team worse whenever he's on the field. Point being, I'd gladly give Duke a shot at replacing Zay even if I don't necessarily think Duke's skillset is necessary.

This is literally what the Patriots try to do every week. -

If there's a bright side, it's these two things: Team as a whole was basically even with the Patriots all day if not slightly better. This is hopefully the final straw for cutting Zay. -
I think Cousins is roughly an average, maybe above average starter; overpaid for what he is and especially for the role they currently have him playing. Bridgewater at his best fell short of that though. Maybe he eventually gets to that level, but I doubt it and I certainly don't blame Minnesota for not wanting to see if he recovers from that gruesome injury considering he wasn't anything special to begin with. The confusing thing with Minnesota is that they bring in Cousins and extend two star WRs that are considered arguably the best WR duo in the NFL, and then they decide they don't want to throw the ball anymore. A classic case of front office and coaching staff seemingly being on different pages, but in this case, it's actually working out well.
-
He had easily the best season of his career with Cousins last year. It's not a chemistry issue; it's an issue of Minnesota abandoning the passing game right after they paid their star WRs (which to be fair, is working out for them so far this season as Cook has been incredible).

Diggs is an awesome player. Would definitely love to have him on the team. I wouldn't be upset if we sent a 2nd rounder + Zay for him. Having said that, I suspect we hold off and just wait until the draft for what should be a stacked WR class and I won't blame them for doing that either.

2020 Mock Drafts & Top Prospects (2nd Annual Way Too Early)
DCOrange replied to thunderingsquid's topic in College Football
Yep, and we're in luck. Looking at The Draft Network's big board: They have DEs at: 2, 5, 24, 25, 29, 32, 34 They have WRs at: 1, 9, 17, 22, 27, 38, 41 They have OTs at: 7, 8, 35, 39 -
Yeah, I think it'll be figured out sometime around then as well. I really hope in the very least, if EA gets NCAA Football, 2K brings back College Hoops. I still go back and play College Hoops 2k8 and NCAA Football 14 every once in awhile when I'm craving it even though basketball/football games have evolved a lot since then.

I don't really care enough to get into a back and forth with you, but JLo hasn't even released an album in the past 5 years and none of the singles that she's released since then have done anything at all. Shakira at least has had a hit song/won a Grammy in the past couple years. I doubt I'll pay much attention to the halftime show, but I get the choice. It'll probably be a spectacle of a performance even if the music isn't the best.
-
I'd rather see 2K do it, but I'd be fine with EA even though I think their sports games are generally disappointing. Definitely miss NCAA Football a lot.

Maiorana's Report: Realism or Pessimism?
DCOrange replied to Tolstoy's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
This just isn't an accurate description of Cincinnati. They put up 20 and 17 points the first two weeks (and 7 of those was simply a duck that Dalton threw where the safety had an easy INT and mistimed the jump, allowing Ross to walk into the end zone instead) and put up 17 this week. After 429 yards of offense in week 1 (including the aforementioned duck), they followed it up with 316 yards last week; Buffalo allowed 306. Cincinnati is a bad offensive team and while Buffalo's defense did a very good job in the first half, the 2nd half led to Cincinnati getting what will likely be their usual production. I think Buffalo's defense is elite, but we've played probably 3 of the bottom 5-8 offensive teams in the league so far this year. New England is a gigantic step up, and I suspect it will be too much of a step up. Could obviously say the same about New England's defense as well (and their offense for that matter), but they've aced the eye test to this point whereas the Bills have been more of a B in that regard. -
Allen >/= Goff over the last 11 games & other Allen stats
DCOrange replied to Reed83HOF's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
So based on that heatmap, it looks like basically all of Brady's passes are to the left side of the field so far this year? That's interesting.
