RD 2, Pick 54: DE AJ Epenesa, University of Iowa
MrEpsYtown replied to SDS's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
IMO it’s more: Hughes-Butler-Oliver-Epenesa Addison-Star-Jefferson-Murphy Johnson and Phillips in reserve If you really don’t want a team to be able to run the ball: Jefferson-Star-Butler-Epenesa If Murphy gets cut (I think it is likely) you either see more Johnson at End or Phillips at 3 tech with Jefferson at end Sub package you might see something like: Hughes-Jefferson/Epenesa-Oliver-Addison -
Free Agency News and Updates - around the league

Im interested to see who gets released and signed over the next few days. Keeping my eye on Hasson Reddick of the Cards as I think gets released. Could be a fit as a Lorax type of player. -
Patriots got a little weaker - James Devlin retires

And I actually am in the minority that I think Stidham will be okay. Not great, maybe like Matt Moore with the Panthers good. -
It certainly will never meet the masterpiece from last offseason. But man Zay really sucks.
-
Raiders gonna cut him soon. Maybe he could go join that damn ECU receivers coach with the Chargers who wanted his guy...hence why we dont have Juju or Kupp.

Hopefully Gilliam shows something and makes the practice squad. I think DiMarco plays out his contract honestly. -
Seahawks release Fluker and Britt
MrEpsYtown replied to GreggTX's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I could see bringing in Britt as another depth guy competing and recovering. He can play RT, G and C but was terrible at RT. Essentially you would be reuniting the Mizzou O-line circa 2013 with Morse, Britt, Boehm. But I am guessing Britt goes somewhere to start with the lack of good center options around. -

They signed Dan Vitale who I really like. I think he is a perfect fit there and can be more of a factor in the passing game, plus ghey drafted Dalton Keene. They are in good shape there. -
I believe the award is originally named after Martin Nance. Needs to stay there Imo. And I feel like its only for skill guys and has even more special significance if the guy looks like Sills or Brandon Reilly. For the record I was a huge Sills supporter and still would have kept him over Zay Jones, so I am not calling anyone out.

Post-Draft Roster Predictions
MrEpsYtown replied to ComradeKayAdams's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Agreed. It definitely won’t be Hauschka and Bojorquez...it could be Bass and Bojo, or Hauschka and Vedvik. Could also be Bass and Vedvik. Though, imo, it should be Bass and Turk, but that’s besides the point. -
How high do you guys think Gabe Davis would have gone if this was not such a deep class?

It’s hard to tell. Gilliam looks to be a pretty good blocker from all accounts. Posted a combine video of himself running in the 4.5s but it is hard to say how accurate that is. I think out of our UDFA, Gilliam, Adams, and Williams seem most intriguing. Unless of course we decide to sign Turk. -
It’s a good comp in terms of their style of play, but Justin Smith blew up the combine, so he was a ridiculous athlete at a large size. He ran faster than Zach Moss with a 4.64. Smith was a little smaller and had pretty short arms. But play style was similar, Smith just a bit smaller and more explosive.

I mean, I added Diggs on Madden and he’s really good.

One good thing is that Austin Jackson, the guy the Dolphins drafted can’t block him. So that helps Going forward.

Post-Draft Roster Predictions

Blankenship went to the Colts. Will compete with our UDFA from last year Chase McGlaughlin. -
I went back and watched the Senior Bowl on my DVR. Jackson looked okay. I think he was great in run support and coverage in the short/intermediate areas. Got burnt by deep speed from Denzel Mims a couple of times. But good tools for a 7th round pick. Seems like he should have went higher and he’s a guy, who at worst could eventually transition to a safety role. I do really like the way he tackles though. Maybe a core special teamer.

It really is silly when you think about it. For him I think the other issue was that without a pro day he wasn’t able to improve it. I went back to the DVR and watched his workout from the combine and after his second 40 DJ said “He’ll be able to get that down under 5 seconds at his pro day.” So everything just kind if feel for us.
