many Americans (and people all around the world) are addicted to consumerism and lifestyle creep, enabling businesses to charge exorbitant amounts for stuff like this. What really boils my blood is the price of essentials like healthcare, car insurance, and utilities getting jacked up regularly (and the process of those increases is pretty much cheered on by government at all levels).
