    Tuel’s first (and only)start:

    18-39, 229 yards, 1 TD, 2 INT, 0 sacks, 17 rushing yards against a 9-0 chiefs team

    Peterman’s 1st start:

    6-14, 66 yards, 5 INTs, 0 sacks, 4 yards rushing against a 4-6 Chargers team

Which of those performances was better? Which of those 2 guys is more deserving of another chance? That was my initial question. Why does Peterman deserve more chances than Tuel?

i for one am expecting a great season. our run d and sack totals will be very much improved. vontae davis will be just as good as gaines last year. our rookies...edmunds, johnson and neal will have an immediate impact....not to mention....well i just think they crushed this draft from top to bottom.

our playcalling and passing attack will improve 100% and even though the schedule looks rough to start, we will be in a great position to go on a second half winning streak.

i fully expect to command a wild card spot. my biggest hope...or worry is the first 2 games against conference perennial playoff teams. however, nobody can game plan for daboll, a.j. and our defense so maybe we can come out of the gate and go at least 2-2 out of the first 4.

if we can do that, we may only drop 2 more to the pats...plus maybe a let down somewhere but that puts us at 11-5. i am saying we will be no less than 10-6.

i hope a.j. has great success and i want nate to back him up. if we get a playoff season from a.j. that will only pay great dividends.

my bottom line prediction is that we will be able to rest a.j. and play allen the last game as we will have a playoff spot locked up.

I'll take that but i expect the Bills will beat New England twice this year.

This.  Our run defense has been horrendous for so long.  Anyone that helps to improve it is going to get viewed favorably by the fanbase as a whole.

Yearly run defense ranks for the last 10 years (by rush yards/game):

    2017:  29

    2016:  29

    2015:  16

    2014:  11

    2013: 27

    2012:  31

    2011:  28

    2010:  32

    2009:  31

    2008:  22

I'm pretty sure that even before 2008, it was still really bad, so this trend goes back even further I think.

How can we be so bad at stopping the run year in and year out?  Blows my mind.  The one year that stands out is 2014, the one year we had Schwartz as the D coordinator.  What an awful mistake it was to get rid of him

Schwartz and a semi-motivated lineman who lost his motivation in 2015 and now is in Jacksonville.

  4. We have owners who want to win and are not afraid of the costs . We have a competitive situation for just about every position on the team. I do not think we have had that in the past. The OL is an example of this . I believe that the younger players will be taking over during the season or pushing hard on the veterans to keep their jobs. We really have never had that. our reserves were washed up cast offs from another team . The WR position is already shaking out if the reports are true.. We may have some young guns  along with the veterans. The QB position is a plus no matter who starts . the defense  will be better also with the additions in the line and linebacker. I am looking for at least 10 wins .

Trump mettled into the NFL  business to cover for his " other " problems . He doesn''t give a rats a## about the standing for the flag or kneeling . He was a "bone spur 4 fe in the Vietnam  War" . Every time he gets his tit in a wringer he creates a diversion and makes it a cause celebrae to get the peoples mind off of him. Too bad that there are so many people who haven't figured it out and too bad that they never will.

RB Ivory - better at catching the football

I think this is gonna come into play and I DEF thing that ppl are sleeping on Ivory....not in a replacement to Shady sense but in a platooning of backs to keep Shady fresh and an upgrade to Tolbert....this is gonna be a bigger factor then most realize.

I certainly agree and I overlooked it Ivory in my post of additions.

I would disagree in that we at least had a known quantity who can certainly play in the NFL. Not a top tier option, but an NFL QB. We don’t know if any of the 3 on the roster now will ever be that. We had an experienced QB, now we don’t.  I’m not saying I’d have kept Tyrod (I wouldn’t), but there is some risk in trying to find options who far surpass what Tyrod will ever give you. I like our odds, but we don’t know....because it can’t be known yet.

I try very hard....I’m a high effort kind of guy.

Fiber is one part of the process.

i disagree withe your disagreement , the known quantity was lacking in what we wanted from a QB . We have a 1st round QB , a QB who has played in the league 4 years and a QB going into his second year  all of which portends success over last year.,

I feel like you went full Kool-Aid right here. McCarron has basically no stats to back up anything right now and Bodine is one of the worst at the position. We also have no idea about the OC and his previous stints don't point to an upgrade. Nothing on offense looks better right now, and it will take some time to really assess it.

I'll admit to some sense of Kool Aid in my posts but McBeane have proven to be basically right in their positions and i would rather not be a negative nellie.

Here’s what matters - we took a step backwards at QB with the hopes of eventually taking three steps forward. How that turns out will determine the future direction of the Bills.

I don't think we took a step backwards as far as QB is concerned. It could not have been much worse last year and we have the makings of good QB play this year plus some time to get there.

You suggested racism was a post-2010 policy of the government, and cited a republican (presumably) majority leader was hoping the democrat president was gone after his first term.

I don't ever recall leadership from any party publically cheering on a president from the opposite party to win reelection.  I thought that was the point of being from a different party.   Its like the cereal wars: Captain Crunch isn't out telling kids to buy up all the Count Chokula, but I don't think that makes him a racist.

    Worst....civics lesson....ever.

Since not one of them thought this was worth "believing" in before 2016, it is as easy to question their allegiance to their current "protest".

i am sure now that a civics lesson would be a waste of time.

Kaepernick basically chose another career when he carried on as he did and openly stated that he would continue and would accept the consequences.  Except now he doesn't like the consequences of not being able to find a football job so he is suing.  Not exactly a man of his word on that one.  Also, before you call anyone a racist (including our President) you had better have your facts together even from behind the veil of a computer.  That's a strong accusation.  If you can't back it up (and I doubt you can) don't say it.

So you're saying that the house and senate made changes after 2010 which were discriminatory to some races?  Were they law changes and did Obama sign off on them?

I did not say that any legislation was passed with regard to rights and i believe the senate majority leader said that he wanted Obama to be a one term president. A lot of the things that were done were by  presidential executive actions which trump has reminded.. and I am done with the civics lesson.

Kapernick began his protest during the pre-season of the 2016 season.. Our current president wasn't sworn into office until January 20, 2017.

He sat for the first three pre-season game and started kneeling during the 4th pre-season game.

the conservatives took over congress in 2010 and the  policies of the federal government changed in regard to racism with this change. Since that time it has been status quo until trumps election. Do you honestly  think that the country is the same as it was before trumps election with regard to civil discourse.
