Nor mine. I think him still being here next year would be bad for the Bills though, because I don't think he will ever be good enough.

If he is still here , it is because  McD kept him. I know it is your opinion that Peterman is not a QB , but  McD may have a different opinion. I If it proves that  McD does , i will take the word of the coach over  yours because you are in error about the progress of Peterman over the past year.

Few people believe that McCarron or Peterman are franchise qbs. That discussion needs to be placed in the garbage can in the front of the house that will soon be picked up by the noisy and stinking garbage truck. That's not what the McCarron vs Peterman discussion is really about. It is about which one of these two earnest game managers will be the starting qb when the season begins until Josh Allen is ready to play as a starter. As a fan the more intriguing issue is how many games will be played before the HC crosses the rubicon and puts in the strapping rookie qb. As far as I am concerned both McCarron and Peterman would be acceptable backups. Which one would be preferred? I don't give a dam!

This qb scenario is the standard highly drafted qb scenario that takes place almost every year. What makes this issue more compelling than usual is that four teams (Cleveland,  NY Jets and Arizona) are undergoing the same situation this year.

Kirby, you hear the word Peterman and it triggers a visceral reaction from you. Let it go!  Whenever I mention Logan Thomas to Gunner it also triggers a spleen busting reaction from him. Don't worry about what is happening in the distant perimeter. The real issue is all about Josh Allen and where he is at. Everything else about the qb issue is a side issue.

Kirby and Gunner Bill have the the over- riding opinion that they are right. nothing is going to change that. It is primarily EGO.  IF Peterman wins the QB  " battle " they will be apoplectic. WHY , , as John C. says  who cares , it is all about  Allen. Ego will not let people who are wrong  , admit it . I don't care if I am wrong about  Peterman  but would like to see him become a successful backup for the Bills , a Reich  to Allen. They are intellectually  both on the high end and  the  difference is the God given  body  that  Allen has.

Do you think the only position McDermott is assessing is QB?

There seems to be this universal belief that our OL is going to suck and that belief is one of the main driving forces behind the reasoning as to why we shouldn't start Allen and I find it odd and a little humorous.

I've said many times if our OL is atrocious, Allen shouldn't start. However, I've also said many times I think our OL is going to be a helluva lot better than expected.

McDermott is going to have a level of comfort he needs with every player at every position in order to start him.

Do you think McDermott and Beane were just like, "oh well, we aren't happy with our OL, but we'll just deal with them sucking for the time-being"

    OR

Could it be that McDermott and Beane--reliant on scouting within the team, throughout the NFL, and in college--are actually very happy with the OL roster they've assembled?

    Unknown is not always bad...

Actually, more like unknown to fans is probably not unknown to coaches and GMs.

The last two lines of your post are probably the truest words you have ever written on TBD.  It goes for every player on the roster .

  4. Do some of you think that McD & Beane would waste the teams time on a player that showed no promise. ? You are deluding yourselves in a aura of negativity spread by some of the  know everything's  on TBD.  The sycophant  followers  don't know any better than spew  what the know everythings  say. Have  some balls  and express  YOUR  opinion  and  realize that they may be wrong , especially when the  F.O. of the team is doing  exactly what the KE's  detest.

  5. First , I want to say that I am an Allen supporter ,before the draft , during the draft , and now. I don't think they are going to rush him  and I believe that he will see starting  after 8- 10 games if at all this year.. Secondly ,I think that Peterman would be a better backup than AJM , because of the football IQ. and AJ,s proclivity to want to be #1. Not that Peterman doesn't  want that but Peterman i think would be a better "Reich "  to Allen  than AJ.

The best 3 players on the list are Tyrod, Fitz and McCarron. We always hear “yeah but Tom Brady.” The reality is that is a total outlier.

The only thing this proves is, the earlier you draft Qb's is the odds of success are enhanced. In the 4th round of the draft from the same period there is one, Zac Presscott  and  a couple of journeymen..BUT and this a once in a few seasons of football there is a player who struggles out of the abyss and becomes a star. You , me or the so called experts  don't know who it is  or else they would be in the employ of one ofthe teams of the NFL.

I just read an article on the Bills QB competition, and they had the current betting odds for each QB to start.

You could really clean up if Peterman won the starting job.

Hey OP - How confident are you in your prediction...? lol (j/k)

Seriously though, I’m not a gambler but those odds do have me just a bit tempted.

Im just not sure Peterman can pull it off.

I would like to see Peterman prevail just to shut up the continual  so called experts , in their delirious rants against Peterman, but seriously , we are three  days into T.C and there is a lot of ground to be covered  and then there is preseason. I believe that McD will set Allen at least 8 games and go with McCarron/Peterman , whomever prevails  That would give the O'line sometime to jell and give the WR's sometime to become acclimated to the system. The front half of the schedule is brutal , so why risk injury or as Arizona did with Carr , ruining a rookie . Exhale !!!

  8. I think that we are looking at the WR's that are going to make the team now. I don't think  Beane is going to clutter the landscape with a  short term " veteran receiver ", on the decline  , when he has a bunch of receivers on the  upside of their careers. I think that of course  Benjamin is a lock.  From there on Jones  , if he shows in TC that his ghosts are behind him  .Dupree is a factor in the mix and is liked by  McB.. Proehl is a find for the slot. Rielly, Streater,, Holmes and Kerley  are going to fight it out for roster positions  and special teams will be the deciding factor.

  9. Sully was a contrarian who sold papers in the era when printed  papers were the norm. We have moved on to " instant " news and the younger generation does not want to read a column  and have to think. They want just the facts. it isn't just Sully , the world is changing. I honestly believe that Sully  was the  "anti " for all of the other writers  that were going along with whatever the team professed . Lets be honest, how many times are you pissed about something Sully wrote. ? That was  what he wanted and thats what his bosses wanted , It sold  papers.
