10/13/2025 Bills at Falcons - 1st half game thread

See when we don't have to worry about the run at all we're fine. If only they would throw every down. -

I'm sick of the GD flags already. -

We'll scheme because we can't stop the run and then when we need to we will not be able to stop the pass because we're run blitzing guys or looking in the backfield for the run. -

Tell me again why we don't value a run stuffing DT? Because our DT's are such great pass rushers? -
If Allen makes an alert into a bad run or he doesn't hand it off on a read option where the RB most likely scores it's still the same result. When you make the right reads at QB you get the credit and you get the accolades. Same is true when you make the wrong reads. Allen usually gets it right. Not saying he played a horrible game but the mistakes he made cost us points and eventually we lost by 3.

I've seen plenty of All22. All I need to know is Allen reads the crashing DE and hands it off we most likely score. Allen doesn't throw a pick we most likely score. A -3 yard pass to Shakir on 3rd and 3 where all you need to do is look at the defense to know we need to be out of that play. The plays and points were there and the turnovers and shooting ourselves in the foot is what gave the Pats the chances. Convince me otherwise.

That system that's not sustainable has been league leading for going on two seasons. We run the ball so well and Allen has typically been throwing to wide open pass catchers. This system that is "not sustainable" just needs Allen to make the right reads and he typically does that. His bad week is when he doesn't do a great job of that but last week was not his best and it wasn't just the interception.

So much talk about the offense. They gave the Pats 3 more chances to score. Had nothing to do with having better WR's. That's why Maye had as many chances as he did and was able to score enough to win. We need a better secondary a DT who makes a difference every week. Josh isn't going to have a bad week that often.

DT T.J. Sanders and S Damar Hamlin to Injured Reseve
Maine-iac replied to BillsFanForever19's topic in The Stadium Wall
Was hoping to see Sanders grow. He looked like a decent 3 tech prospect and was hoping to see that. Hamlin seems like the most likely candidate for next man up and as often as people get hurt around here probably would have seen some playing time at some point. I'm hoping Zy Alexander makes his way back on the roster and gets a real look. Wouldn't mind us bringing Makari Paige for a look. Nice mix of size and speed. Was in Giants camp for a while. For the time being I hope Hancock gets some looks at safety. -
Return of the Tre! (Tre White signs with the Bills)
Maine-iac replied to FireChans's topic in The Stadium Wall
Not sure what your source is but Pro Football Reference has it at 101.6. It also says in 4 games he's given up under 100 yards and 1 TD. Diving deeper he's top ten for CB's giving up under 7 yards per completion and only 5 yards per target. I could only find one CB who had started 4 games or more who had given up less yardage. https://www.pro-football-reference.com/players/W/WhitTr01.htm#all_adv_defense -
Return of the Tre! (Tre White signs with the Bills)
Maine-iac replied to FireChans's topic in The Stadium Wall
Speaking to this my biggest disappointment with White was largely all on one play. He gave up 3 completions for 40 yards. I can live with that more or less but being a veteran he needed to get his head around and make a play on the ball in the end zone. That PI was a killer. -
The defense does still give me anxiety but looking at things clearly they were 3 of 9 on 3rd down and the Pats only had the ball 25 minutes. With a 10 minute TOP advantage and a decent showing from the defense if the offense doesn't turn the ball over 3 times we probably win by 2 scores.

Bishop to strong safety. I think Bishop is getting it. Hancock to free safety. Rapp and Cam back up the safeties and Taron at nickel. Zy Alexander to the practice squad. Get Hairston coached up and on the field. We need new blood in the secondary. We need guys who can cover and if they can't cover they've gotta go. White is fine as a back up. We need someone younger, faster, and stickier. Maybe there should be some concerns about tackling from all these new guys but have you seen the tackling so far this year from the guys currently starting? McDermott seems like a decent head coach and our defenses have typically been pretty solid but last year and this year are not going to cut it. Our D Line is getting pressure. Stopping the run is always going to induce anxiety just from the scheme we run. Stopping the pass is what we generally are selling out to do with light boxes and only rushing 4. It's unacceptable to have guys running open as often as we do. ps Was all over drafting Mukuba after a CB or DT and certainly would have taken him over Landon Jackson. Nothing against Jackson but we needed a cover safety more than another pocket collapsing DE. Mukuba and Bishop and we would have been set at safety.

10/5/2025 GAMEDAY Bills vs Patriots 1st Half Thread SNF

Silver lining when they're not getting penalties the defense looks the best it's looked this year. Tell me that Pats only are going to score 6 points all half and I would have figures we'd have a 2 score lead. -

We always start games like this. Good opponent or bad opponent we start of cold. Let them in the game and then choke them out as the game goes on. I'd rather just beat them soundly for 4 quarters. -

Absolute fist full of jersey and no call. -
It's interesting the difference in perception between AJ and Groot. Groot was a 1st round pick, granted it was pick 30. AJ was a late 2nd and the difference between them from a pass rush perspective is about 2 sacks a year. We just resigned Groot to a fairly substantial multi year deal and most people want to get rid of AJ.

For his career Benford missed all the 2022 playoffs (and half the season), most of one game and all of the next in the 2023 playoffs, and then played 2 playoff games and missed most of the 3rd last year. So of the playoff games we've played since drafting Benford he's been available less than half the time. Sadly we probably have a number of players in much the same boat.
-
Didn't Benford end up on IR his rookie year? This is all eerily similar to the year we drafted Benford and Elam.

I'm not saying "most" Bill's fans aren't from WNY but i literally (two weeks ago) got back from a game where I not only went to the game but camped in a lot at the Stadium and there was a whole field of fans just from Toronto. Nothing but Ontario plates and Canadian flags. Wonderful people. Growing up in upstate NY I was actually an Expos fan. I guess times were different then. We didn't show our passport to go to Canada. We were neighbors and friends.
