Now a make up call.

Mahomes had a chance to slide. Officials are getting worse

Such total bs
-
This is exactly true. The way to correct this officiating is obvious. For reasons that arent clear to me, the NFL refuses to fix this. 1) Make NFL officials full time employees. Would anyone here want a heart surgeon who operated only on weekends, and was an insurance salesman on weekdays? This is just common sense. Practice may not make perfect, but it certainly makes better. 2) Money talks. Pay them more. Attract the best candidates. Start them at $250K/yr, escalating quickly to $500K. Lets see--8 officials per crew, 16 total crews, 128 officials. Times $400K per official. Or $50 million/year total. Divided by 32 teams = $1.6 million per team. Less than 0.7 % of the salary cap. Less than a backup WR. Would anyone here object to cutting Trent Sherfield if it meant you had high quality officials? 3) Make the officials accountable. Score them on the quality of their officiating each week. The bottom 10% at the end of the year are let go. At $250K/year, you'd have lots of high quality college officials knocking on your door.

Von Miller faces arrest in domestic violence case in Dallas
pennstate10 replied to ArdmoreRyno's topic in The Stadium Wall
Actually, Texas law states assault on a pregnant person, not girlfriend. Gotta be correct with your pronouns these days.... I'm joking , but if what is alleged in the 911 call is true, he's as bad as Tyreek, and should be put away. -

Obviously this is a bad look. But we really should wait for more facts to come out. Was the assault a physical or verbal assault? What triggered the assault? -
Joe Brady on the Allen/Davis Miscommunication
pennstate10 replied to Scott7975's topic in The Stadium Wall
Agree with the lack of next level prep and Allen as leader. Allen is one of, if not the most talented QB of this century. But the team has to want to be champions, and put in the off-season work. I don’t think they’re doing so. I get that organized team activities are optional, but these guys are making millions of $ per year. It wouldn’t be so hard to put in a bit more work. it’s been said that you need to put in 10000 hours to be expert at an activity, whether it’s playing the cello, shooting free throws, or learning the intricacies of option routes. I don’t see as many miscommunications with other teams. I don’t think Bills are putting in the time. -
Depends a bit on how you define curse. I will define it as last minute losses of key games you were leading and should have easily won. So pretty clear that the beginning was wide right. Then in the crease. Them Bledsoe give it to them game Homerun throwback 2000-2020 highlighted by Dallas and NE losses Then 13 sec Then hail murray Then Vikings loss Then 12 men

Any TBD members at the game yesterday?
pennstate10 replied to Another Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall
I was at the game. Most of the people around us were fine. Guy in front of me went to high five me after a Ohilly score and I just pointed to my hat and he said, oh sorry. A guy behind me tapped me in the shoulder and asked me to take a picture of him and his buddies and handed me his phone. So really pretty normal. then there was a guy in Eagles gear a couple seats over who was standing the whole time. The Eagles fans behind him started threatening him and he finally sat down. There were a few guys throwing insults about the Bulls and Buffalo in general, but nothing too bad. I was really surprised to hear all the boos directed at the Eagles. Who have the best record in the league. Just an irritable bunch I guess. We were partially under an overhang and had rain gear and ponchos, so not too bad. But then I got soaked walking and waiting 45 min for the subway. That was actually the worst part. -
Ahh I think Philly RT and LT were worse in the false starts. LT in first half and RT in second.

I was at the game. It might have been hard to see on TV, but the blocked kick had a really low trajectory. May not have made it even if not blocked. It was a poor kick.

Gabe Davis Miscommunication Plays this season
pennstate10 replied to Virgil's topic in The Stadium Wall
This is where teams that have dedicated players benefit from OTA and extra film time. Josh is perhaps the most talented QB of the past 20 years. But talent doesn’t triumph over everything. There is a book by Malcom Gladwell which endorses the idea that you need to spend 10000 hrs at an activity to truly master the activity. Playing the cello, shooting free throws, kicking FG. You get the idea. That’s where off season work come in. You practice these situations over and over again to master them. Yeah, I get it’s the off season, and these are optional team activities. But if you truly want to be a champion, they aren’t optional. -
Yet another choke job by the defense
pennstate10 replied to Bermuda Triangle's topic in The Stadium Wall
No. Four games this year the offense has scored to take the lead with under 2 min left. Four times the D has choked. Football is a team game, but the defense is no winning in clutch situations. There is no ther way to look at it. -
I was at the game. The play in discussion was ptobably a fiumble, but wasn’t crytaj clear. Here were obviousblown call. 1) At least a dozen times, the eagles LT or RT moved into his kick slide a good 1/2 sec befor ball was snapped. It’s obvious stfrom the upper deck. There is no reason to give players @ half second grace. Sync i with motion detectors in their shoes. NFL refuses to admit that easy fixes exist. there was a blatant hold on 91 on phillysgo ahead TD drive. OL has 91 arm pinned. Such that when he got it unpinnedand escapes yo could see his one arm emerging from the sea of humanity including numrerous other holds. After .Hyde’s int, bills get flagged for holding 0.5 sex after ball snapped.. how de official know th so quickly. On Philly first shove TD, theLG shoots off 0.5 sec early. No call the officiating is bad and gettijng worse. These guy are like the supreme court. Unelected professionals with no review of their prducuts, and no way to h fire someone for consistent i referees 7

Buffalo @ Philadelphia Game Thread - 1st half

At the game. Officiating is whack. -
My son and I are going to the game. Planing on hanging out at Xfinity Live. Any Buffalo centric tailgate area to stop by and say hi?

H3LL NO!! There are at least 3 avenues that can lead to much higher level performance. 1) Better offensive coaching. To be clear, Allen hasnt worked with an offensive "savant". A Reid, Shanahan, McVay, or Bellichek. 2) Get his mind straight. Not sure whats been going on, on the field or off the field. But that 1000 mile stare tells me something isnt optimal. 3) Better offensive talent. Bradshaw had Swann and Stallworth. Marino had Duper and Clayton. Aikman had Irvin and whatshisname. Mahomes had Hill and Kelce. You get the picture. Allen has Diggs, who is very good, and a bunch of maybes. Allen is, without doubt, the most talented Bills QB in history. I've seen them all. Kemp, Lamonica, Ferguson, Kelly, Billy Joe, Flutie. Allen has skills that none of those dudes had. Its up to Allen and Bills staff to get the most out of his skills.

I don’t see the Steelers finishing 10-7. All their wins have been by less than one score. Tomlinson is a good coach, but there is a bit of luck in there as well. I see the Steelers as an 8-9, 9-8 team.
-
That is obvious grounding.
-
I don’t think a 12-5 team has ever missed the playoffs. Not saying it’s impossible but it’s highly unlikely. That would also mean the dolphins had at minimum 4 losses and Bills would have head to head. I think 11-6 Bills team has high likelihood of making playoffs, and a 10-7 team is probably around 50-50.

Bills Jets brawl in tunnel after the game.
pennstate10 replied to TwistofFate's topic in The Stadium Wall
Officiating was pitiful. I watched the PI call on Bills DB- think it was 31– several times. No way was that PI. Once more, why does a $10 billion industry depend on part time employees. The officials should be full time, and the bottom 10% let go each year. Pay them $500K. You’ll get better quality. -
How did the Russian hackers access this poll? @2BD--yinz need to spiff up your cybersecurity. How else would one explain 75% of responses wanting McDermott gone?? I'm a long time Bills fan. First game I ever saw in person, Joe Namath threw 8 TD passes. But 3 were to the Bills, and Bills won 37-35. McDermott is 1 of the top 2 Bills coaches in the last 55 years. Full stop. Wait, you'd rather have Hank Bullough, Kay Stephenson, Jim Ringo, Rex Ryan, Chan Gaily, or one of the other clown posses that passed through?? Lets think this through. 19 years before McD = 0 (ie, zero, zilch, nil, nada) playoff appearances. 6 yrs with McD = 5 playoff appearances. Fishers exact test p = 0.0000051. Last years team went through extraordinary, never before stress, and still won a playoff game. This years team has a defense that has lost 5 of its top 6 defenders from last year, and is held together by duct tape and bailing wire. Still in the thick of the playoff race. And yet, 75% of Bills fan want a coaching change??? SMH Be careful what you wish for. Me, I'll be in Philly on Sunday, cheering on my Bills.

I’m somewhat surprised that no one, including the mods who moved the thread, seem to realize that this commercial predicted exactly what happened at the end of the Bills Broncos game.
