Not for nothing but after the 13 seconds snaffu the coaches were always going to be under extra scrutiny this year. With all the off-season hype about how deep and talented this team is, that was only going to be magnified even more so. I do think the coaches on this team are good, but the talent is elite. The frustration comes becomes our main competition - the Chiefs - have elite talent AND elite coaching, and so they simply make far fewer mistakes on a week to week basis. They are firmly in the driver’s seat for the #1 seed again as a result. Is it wrong to complain because we have dynasty-level talent but have coaching who aren’t able to maximize that potential? I mean there’s nothing that’s written that we still can’t win the Super Bowl this year but I think frustration with falling behind the Chiefs again is more than valid this year.

This is true, not to mention that the only team averaging more points and yards per game has one of the most talented Offensive minds in league history with 20+ years of play calling experience. What’s unfortunate is that we don’t seem to have anyone else in the building to assist as Dorsey comes into his own. McD just doesn’t have the knowledge and experience on that side of the ball. It’s not an ideal situation to be in to compete for a title..

I agree with most of what you said but I’m curious as to your source for the wrong routes resulting in picks claim. Is that just an eye test by you or is there more concrete evidence of that? Either way, I was all for giving Gabe the opportunity to cement himself as a true star receiver this year and that just hasn’t happened. If we can land Beckham I’m more than ok with that at this point.

NE offense isn’t some world beater, but their defense has put on some absolute clinics this year. Hard to think this will be the game where we play clean and don’t turn it over, but it would be huge if we can.
